Completed ID.me verification but DEO CONNECT still locked - need urgent help
I just completed my ID.me verification 3 days ago but my Florida CONNECT account is STILL showing as locked! I was so relieved when I got the email saying verification was successful, but when I tried logging in this morning - same error message saying my account access is restricted! I've tried calling the 1-833 number at least 15 times today but either get disconnected or sit on hold forever. Does anyone know a direct email or phone number that actually works? I'm missing my claim weeks and worried about my benefits being cut off if I can't access the system soon. I've already sent messages through the Contact Us form but no response after 3 days. Please help - my rent is due next week and I'm panicking!!

This is a super common issue after ID.me verification - the systems don't sync automatically. You need to email DEO directly and tell them you completed your ID.me verification but your account is still locked. Try sending an email to DEO.Identityverification@deo.myflorida.com with your claimant ID number, full name as it appears in CONNECT, and the date you completed the ID.me verification. Make sure to use the subject line 'ACCOUNT LOCK REMOVAL REQUEST' so it gets flagged. This worked for me and 3 other people I know who had the same issue. Should get resolved within 48-72 hours if you use that exact email.

•Thank you so much for this email address! I just sent them all my info with that subject line. I was losing my mind trying to figure this out. Did you have to attach any documents to prove you completed the ID.me verification? I didn't get any kind of certificate or anything when I finished.

•8 DAYS?! I can't wait that long - my claim week is coming up and I need to be able to claim it on time. Did you try calling them or just waited it out?

I had the EXACT same issue and it nearly drove me crazy!!! After completing ID.me it took another week for my account to unlock. DEO told me their system only updates verification statuses once a week on Thursdays (which makes ZERO sense). Try calling 321-754-9289 which is supposed to be a direct line to the verification department.

•That number is disconnected now. DEO changes their direct lines every couple months because people share them online. The whole system is designed to be impossible to navigate! 😤

I went through this exact nightmare last month. After trying for DAYS to reach someone at DEO with no luck, I finally used Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get connected to a DEO agent. It cost money but was worth every penny because I got my account unlocked the same day. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj The DEO agent I spoke with said they're dealing with thousands of these ID.me verification issues and have a massive backlog. If you explain that you're locked out and have already completed the verification, they can manually review and unlock your account while you're on the phone.

Your best option is to email Monica.Greenlee@deo.myflorida.com - she's a supervisor in the ID verification department. Include your full name, claimant ID, date of birth, phone number, last 4 of SSN, and the exact date you completed ID.me. Put "URGENT: CONNECT ACCOUNT LOCKED AFTER ID.ME VERIFICATION" in the subject. Alternatively, you can try contacting your state representative's office and ask them to submit an inquiry on your behalf. This often gets faster results because DEO prioritizes responses to government officials. Find your rep here: https://www.myfloridahouse.gov/findyourrepresentative The disconnection between ID.me and CONNECT is a known issue that DEO has been struggling with since they implemented the new verification requirement in 2025. For some reason, the automated sync doesn't work properly and requires manual intervention.

•Thank you for the detailed info! I just emailed Monica with all my information. I'll also try the state rep route if I don't hear back by tomorrow. It's ridiculous they implemented a system that doesn't even automatically update when verification is complete!

•Going in person might be my last resort if these emails don't work. Which CareerSource location did your sister go to? Did she need an appointment?

THE ENTIRE FLORIDA UNEMPLOYMENT SYSTEM IS DESIGNED TO FRUSTRATE PEOPLE INTO GIVING UP!!!! I've been fighting with them for MONTHS about various issues. The ID.me verification is just their latest hurdle to deny benefits. They KNOW the systems don't talk to each other properly but they refuse to fix it because it saves them money when people give up. I finally got my account unlocked by filing a complaint with the Inspector General (http://www.floridaoig.com/) and mysteriously my account was fixed 2 days later. COINCIDENCE? I DON'T THINK SO!!

UPDATE: I just saw that DEO posted about this specific issue on their Twitter account yesterday. They acknowledged a backlog with ID.me verifications and said they're working through them manually. They're prioritizing accounts in order of verification completion date. They also said you can request expedited review if you have an imminent claim week deadline by calling 833-FL-APPLY and using option 5, then 7, then 2 to reach the ID verification team directly. They've apparently added more staff to handle these issues.

•Thank you for the update! I just tried those prompts and miraculously got through to a person! They said they'll expedite my account unlock and it should be fixed within 24 hours. Such a relief! Will update if it actually gets fixed.

FINAL UPDATE: My account is finally unlocked! The phone option that @helpful_guidance suggested worked. I got through this morning, they confirmed they could see my ID.me verification was complete, and unlocked my account while I was on the phone. I was able to log in immediately after hanging up. For anyone else with this issue: 1. Call 833-FL-APPLY 2. Use option 5, then 7, then 2 3. Be prepared with your claimant ID and verification date Thank you everyone for all your help! This community is amazing.

•Great news! Make sure you claim any weeks you missed right away. DEO only allows you to claim missed weeks for a limited time after they become available.
