Account locked after ID.me verification - DEO phones always busy

I completed my ID.me verification last week and my CONNECT account is STILL locked! I've been trying to reach DEO by phone every single day since Monday. I start calling right at 7:30am when they open and keep trying until they close at 6pm. Every single time I get 'all agents are busy' or just a busy signal and disconnection. This is getting really frustrating because my April rent is due soon and I NEED access to file my weeks. My landlord isn't the understanding type. The verification process went smoothly - got the green checkmark and confirmation email from ID.me saying everything was verified successfully. But when I try to log into CONNECT, it still says my account is locked for security reasons. Has anyone dealt with this recently? Is there an email address that actually works? Or some secret way to get through on the phones? I'm desperate here!

I was in the same boat last month. After my ID.me verification I waited 3 days and my account was still locked. I found a service called Claimyr that got me through to a DEO agent in about 25 minutes when I'd been trying for days with no luck. They basically keep calling for you until they get through the busy signals. Their website is claimyr.com and they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj. The agent unlocked my account while I was on the phone with them. Was a huge relief after all that frustration!

Thanks for the suggestion! I've never heard of Claimyr before. Does it actually work? I'm kind of desperate at this point so I'll try anything. Did they ask for any weird personal info?

The ID.me verification and CONNECT account unlocking are actually two separate processes. Even after successful ID.me verification, DEO still needs to update your account status in their system. There's a specific department that handles these security locks. Try emailing RA.BPC@deo.myflorida.com with subject line "URGENT: CONNECT ACCOUNT LOCKED AFTER SUCCESSFUL ID.ME VERIFICATION" and include: - Your full name - Claimant ID number (if you know it) - The last 4 of your SSN - Date you completed ID.me verification - A screenshot of your ID.me confirmation (if possible) They're usually responding within 3-5 business days right now. In the meantime, keep trying the phone, but the email might get you results faster.

This email doesn't work anymore!!! I tried it last week and got a bounce back saying it's not monitored!!! The whole system is designed to make us give up!!!

17 DAYS?? I can't wait that long! Did you just keep calling or did something else finally work?

I had this exact problem in February. The most effective way I found to get my account unlocked was to contact my state representative's office. I filled out their constituent services form explaining that I couldn't reach DEO and my account was locked despite successful ID.me verification. Their office contacted DEO directly, and my account was unlocked within 48 hours. This approach works because legislative offices have special channels to DEO that bypass the normal customer service routes. I've seen several people on this forum have success with this method. Google "[your county] Florida state representative" to find yours. The other option that sometimes works is to visit a CareerSource Florida center in person - they have direct lines to DEO that aren't available to the public.

That's a really good idea. I hadn't thought about contacting my state rep. I'm in Miami-Dade county so I'll look up who represents my area. Thank you!

Yes, I've tried logging out and back in at least 20 times. Also cleared my browser cache, tried different browsers, and even tried on my phone. Still shows locked.

The DEO phone system is absolutely USELESS!!! I've been dealing with Florida unemployment since 2023 and it's only gotten WORSE. They deliberately make it impossible to talk to anyone. If you can't get through by phone and don't want to wait for email responses that may never come, here's what I had to do to get my account unlocked after ID.me verification: 1. Go IN PERSON to your local CareerSource office (bring ID and your claim info) 2. Ask specifically to speak to a "DEO representative" - not just any CareerSource staff 3. If they say no DEO rep is available, be politely persistent and ask when one will be there 4. Some offices have dedicated computers with direct DEO access It's ridiculous that we have to jump through these hoops, but it's the only reliable way I've found. The whole system seems designed to frustrate people into giving up.

This is excellent advice. CareerSource offices can be hit or miss depending on the location, but the ones with on-site DEO staff can work wonders. Just call ahead to make sure they have DEO personnel on site that day - not all locations do, and they rotate at some offices.

LOL good luck!!! Been trying since JANUARY to get my account unlocked!!! DEO is THE WORST!!! They don't care about us at all!!!!

I understand your frustration, but since January is quite unusual. Most account locks are resolved within 2-3 weeks at the longest. Have you tried all the options mentioned above? If you've been locked out since January, there might be something more complex happening with your claim that requires specialized assistance.

For anyone following this thread - I just wanted to report back that the Claimyr service I mentioned earlier really does work. My brother-in-law used it yesterday after seeing my recommendation and got through to DEO in about 40 minutes. The agent was able to fix his issues while on the phone. Just sharing because I know how impossible it feels to get help from DEO sometimes.

UPDATE: I finally got through to DEO! I actually tried two approaches at once - I emailed my state representative yesterday AND used the Claimyr service this morning. Not sure which one made the difference, but a DEO agent called me back about 2 hours after I used Claimyr. They confirmed there was a "security flag" on my account that needed manual removal even though my ID.me was successful. The agent fixed it while I was on the phone with them and I was able to log in right away. So relieved! They also backdated my claim weeks since I couldn't access the system to claim them. Just wanted to update in case anyone else has the same problem. Don't give up!

That's great news! Thanks for coming back to update. It's helpful for others to know what finally worked. The "security flag" issue is common after ID.me verification - it's essentially a disconnect between the two systems that requires manual intervention.
