ID.me verification nightmare since Sept - DEO completely unreachable for over a month!

I'm literally at my wits end trying to get through to someone at DEO about my account verification. Been trying to validate my account through ID.me since September 3rd and it's now been over a month with ZERO progress. I've made calls to both DEO and ID.me EVERY single business day (not exaggerating), and have sent at least 25 messages through their contact forms. It's like shouting into a black hole - complete silence from their end! My bills are piling up, rent is due next week, and I can't access any benefits because of this verification issue. Has anyone managed to actually get a human on the phone at DEO lately? Or found any trick to get ID.me to respond to messages? This is beyond frustrating at this point.

The ID.me verification is a complete nightmare right now. I went through something similar last month - took me 41 days to finally get it resolved. What worked for me was specifically emailing DEO.Verify@deo.myflorida.com with screenshots of your ID.me attempts and put "URGENT: ID.me Verification Issue - 30+ Days" in the subject line. Also, when calling DEO, try selecting the PIN reset option instead of the verification option - sometimes you can get through to an actual person that way who might transfer you to the right department.

Thanks for the email suggestion! I'll definitely try that today. Did you get a quick response from that specific email address? And good tip about the PIN reset option - I've been choosing the verification option every time and just hitting dead ends.

This is WHY they do this!!! They WANT you to give up so they don't have to pay benefits!!! The whole system is designed to be impossible to navigate. I spent 6 WEEKS trying to verify last year and literally had to get my state representative involved before anyone would help me. The DEO is a JOKE.

While I understand your frustration, I don't think it's an intentional plot. The DEO system is definitely overwhelmed and understaffed, but calling your state rep is actually good advice. They often have liaison contacts at DEO who can escalate cases. Worth trying alongside the other suggestions here.

Sorry you're dealing with this frustration. I had a similar ID.me verification loop for weeks. What finally worked for me was using Claimyr to get through to an actual DEO agent. It's a service that essentially calls DEO for you and connects you when they get through. It saved me from countless more hours of calling and hanging up. Their website is claimyr.com and they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj I was skeptical at first but after 3 weeks of not getting through on my own, I was desperate. The agent I finally spoke with was able to see exactly what was holding up my ID.me verification and fixed it while I was on the phone.

I've used Claimyr twice now - it's legit. They just help you get through the phone system. Once I finally got connected to a DEO agent, they spotted the problem with my ID.me verification immediately - turns out there was a mismatch between my social security number formatting in the two systems (one had dashes, one didn't). Something so simple but impossible to fix without talking to a human.

That's good to know about Claimyr. At this point I'd try anything. So frustrating that something as simple as dashes in a SSN could cause such a huge problem! I'll check out that service if the email approach doesn't work by Monday.

Have u checked ur spam folder? Sometimes DEO emails go there. Also ID.me has a video chat verification option if the regular way isnt working.

Yeah, I've been checking spam religiously. Nothing there. And I tried the video chat option with ID.me twice, but both times I waited over 4 hours and then got disconnected. So frustrating!

Quick update on the email suggestion - make sure you include your claimant ID number, full name, and date of birth in that email or they'll just send an automated response asking for that info (which delays things further). Also, if you've been locked out for over 30 days, specifically mention that because there's a different protocol they're supposed to follow for long-term verification issues versus new ones.

Thank you for the extra details! Just sent the email with all that information included. Crossing my fingers this works.

That's a great idea! I didn't even think about going to CareerSource in person. Do you know if I need to make an appointment first or can I just show up?

i just showed up but had to wait like 2 hrs. might be better 2 call first. bring all ur id docs and ur phone cuz they might need 2 do the verification right there

For everyone following this thread, here's a clarification on the ID.me verification process with DEO: 1. Complete the ID.me verification separately from the CONNECT system first 2. After successful ID.me verification, DEO still needs to link that verification to your CONNECT account 3. This linking process is what often causes delays - it's NOT automatic 4. For fastest resolution, email DEO.Verify@deo.myflorida.com AND contact them by phone 5. CareerSource offices can sometimes help, but not all locations have the same capabilities The most important thing is documenting every contact attempt you make. If you end up needing to appeal anything, having records of your attempts to resolve the issue will help your case tremendously.

This is super helpful information - thank you! I didn't realize the verification and linking were separate processes. That explains why my ID.me shows verified but DEO still has me locked out. I've been keeping a log of all my calls and messages, so hopefully that will help if I need to escalate further.

Any updates on your situation? Were you able to get your account verified? The email route worked for my cousin recently but it still took about a week for them to respond.

Good news! The email actually worked! Got a response this morning and they manually verified my account. Just logged into CONNECT and everything is working now. For anyone else stuck in ID.me verification hell - definitely try emailing DEO.Verify@deo.myflorida.com with all your info and documentation. THANK YOU all for the help!
