Stuck in ID.me verification limbo for 11+ days - DEO impossible to reach by phone!
I'm at my wits end with this ID.me verification nightmare. Been waiting ELEVEN DAYS for them to verify my ID and I've uploaded literally everything they asked for - drivers license, passport, utility bills, you name it! My claim is just sitting there and I can't access my CONNECT account without completing this verification. I've called the DEO phone line over 250 times (not exaggerating, I counted on my call log) and either get disconnected or the automated message saying they're too busy. Does ANYONE have a direct number or email for an actual human being at the DEO? I have rent due next week and I'm seriously panicking. This system is completely broken!

The DEO phone system is designed to frustrate people until they give up. I went through the EXACT same ID.me hell in January. My account was locked for almost 3 weeks! I kept getting those stupid 'We're experiencing higher than normal call volume' messages too. It's ALWAYS higher than normal volume because their system is garbage!!!!

•Did you finally get through to someone? What ended up working for you? I'm desperate at this point.

I got stuck in ID.me verification too, but for me it was only 5 days. Have you tried submitting a trouble ticket through the ID.me help center? That actually got someone to look at my case. For the DEO, try calling right when they open at 7:30am - that's when I had the best luck getting through. Also, make sure you've fully completed the selfie verification step in ID.me - some people miss that part.

•Yes I did the selfie part and everything. The ID.me site says my verification is "in process" but it's been saying that for over a week now. I'll try the trouble ticket through their help center though - didn't think of that. And I'll set my alarm for the 7:30am call tomorrow, fingers crossed!

11 days isn't actually that bad tbh. Took my cousin almost a month to get verified through ID.me last year lol

•A MONTH?? I can't wait that long! I have bills due now. This is insane.

I had the same problem trying to reach DEO for weeks. Eventually I found this service called Claimyr that got me through to an agent in about 20 minutes after I'd spent days trying. They basically call DEO for you and when they get through, they connect you with an agent. Saved me from pulling my hair out. Their website is claimyr.com and they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj

•I've never heard of this before. Does it actually work? At this point I'm willing to try anything.

•It worked for me after I'd been trying to get through for 2 weeks. The DEO agent was able to look at my account and tell me exactly what was holding up my ID.me verification. Turns out there was a mismatch between my address on ID.me and what was in the DEO system. Once they fixed that, my verification went through within 48 hours.

•Because Florida WANTS it to be hard to get benefits. They're proud of how few people actually get approved. The whole system is designed to frustrate people into giving up!!

For ID.me verification issues, there are a few things you can try: 1. Check if there are any name discrepancies between your ID documents and your DEO application. Even small differences (like having your middle name on one but not the other) can cause delays. 2. Try emailing ID.me support directly at help@id.me and specifically mention it's for Florida DEO unemployment verification. 3. For DEO contact, try their alternative number: (833) 352-7759 and press options in this order: 5, 2, 1, 2. Sometimes this routing gets you to a different queue with shorter wait times. 4. You can also email DEO at DEO.CONNECT@deo.myflorida.com - be sure to include your claimant ID number, the last 4 digits of your SSN, and explain that your ID.me verification is stuck in processing. The verification delays have been increasing lately because of heightened security measures, but they are required to process your verification within 14 days per their service agreement with Florida.

•Thank you SO much for this detailed information. I'll try that alternative number routing tomorrow morning, and I'll send emails to both ID.me and the DEO today. I really appreciate the help!

I was stuck in ID.me verification for 9 days back in February. What finally worked for me was contacting my state representative's office. I emailed their constituent services team, explained my situation, and they reached out to their DEO liaison. Got a call from DEO two days later and they pushed my verification through. Worth a try if nothing else works!

•I didn't even think about contacting my state rep! That's a really good idea. I'll look up their contact info right now. At this point I'm going to try everything - the alternative phone number, emails, the ID.me trouble ticket, and now this. Something's gotta work!

Just wanted to follow up and see if you had any luck with any of the suggestions? The ID.me verification is frustrating but usually does get resolved eventually. Let us know what worked for you so others can benefit!

•Update: I tried that Claimyr service and actually got through to DEO this morning! The agent told me my ID.me verification was stuck because my married name is on my driver's license but I had applied with my maiden name (which is still on my social security card). She put notes in my file and submitted an override request. Also submitted the ID.me trouble ticket and they responded saying they'd escalate my case. Fingers crossed this gets resolved in the next couple days. Thanks everyone for your help!!
