If your 2023 claim was denied specifically because of ID.me verification problems, you should have received a notification letter in December 2024 or January 2025. The letters went out to everyone potentially affected by the settlement. If you didn't get one but think you should qualify, you can email DEO.SettlementQuestions@deo.myflorida.com with your claimant ID, last four of SSN, and brief explanation of why you believe you're part of the settlement class. But focus on your current claim first - that's your most immediate path to benefits. Call about the adjudication delay and specifically ask if there's anything else they need from you to resolve the pending issues.
i had my claim stuck in adjudication for 5 weeks with those same flags. turns out they needed additional proof that i was let go and not fired for cause. had to get a letter from my former boss. call them and ask specifically what theyre waiting for, dont just wait!!
This is excellent advice. 'Ability to work' and 'employment status' flags often require additional documentation beyond what the system initially asks for. Sometimes it's a doctor's note, employer verification, or additional details about your job separation. The system rarely tells you exactly what's missing.
My neighbor had this exact problem last month! The CONNECT system is so confusing sometimes. She said she spent forever trying to figure it out. I think she ended up having to start a whole new claim.
Just to follow up - after you submit your new RA application, expect it to take 2-3 weeks for a determination. If your claim is approved, you'll be able to claim weeks as normal. You might see a message about adjudication if there are any issues with your claim that need manual review. If that happens, keep claiming your weeks while the adjudication process is ongoing. Once resolved, you'll receive any back pay for eligible weeks you've claimed.
btw just want to add that DEO is super serious about this in 2025. my friend just got hit with an OVERPAYMENT notice for $4800 because she didn't do her work searches correctly last year and they just audited her claim. she's freaking out because she already spent the money!! so PLEASE be super careful with documenting everything!!!
I had this exact issue in February. Here's what I learned: 1) Yes, 5 work searches per week is mandatory 2) Keep DETAILED records - they can audit you years later 3) Not all activities count the same - actual job applications are best 4) If you forget one week, you might get lucky with just a warning 5) The CONNECT system will sometimes glitch and not save your work searches - take screenshots as proof
Quick update: DEO has been having technical issues with their 1099-G system this tax season. If you requested your form after January 31st and still haven't received it, it's likely due to the backlog they're experiencing. According to their latest update, they're working through requests in the order received. If it's been more than 10 business days since your request, definitely follow up.
UPDATE: I finally got my 1099-G! For anyone else struggling, here's what worked for me: 1. I tried clearing my cache and using a different browser - no luck 2. Sent an email to TaxDocuments@deo.myflorida.com with my info as suggested 3. After 3 days with no response, I used the Claimyr service mentioned above to get through to DEO 4. The agent was able to email me the 1099-G while on the phone The form shows I received $4,625 in benefits with $462 in federal taxes withheld. Just wanted to update in case anyone else runs into the same issue. Thanks everyone for your help!
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but adjudication often takes 8-12 weeks these days. Make sure you've done your ID.me verification - that's a common holdup. Also check your CONNECT inbox daily for fact-finding questionnaires. They sometimes send these without notification and if you miss the deadline, it resets the whole process. For immediate financial help, try applying for emergency SNAP benefits - they can expedite approval in hardship cases. Also, most utility companies have emergency assistance programs if you call them directly. Keep attempting to call DEO between 7:30-8:00am when they first open - that's when your chances are best.
I did the ID.me verification the day I applied and check my CONNECT inbox multiple times daily. There's nothing in there asking for more information. I'll try the early morning call tip tomorrow - haven't tried that yet. Already applied for emergency SNAP but was told it would take 7-10 days for approval.
Good news: just saw you found out it's in adjudication for separation verification. That's actually fixable! Call the employer verification department directly at 877-846-8770 instead of the main DEO line. They're typically less busy. Tell them you need to verify if your former employer has responded to the separation verification request. Sometimes employers don't respond, which causes delays. If it's been over 10 days since they contacted your employer, ask for them to escalate it for non-response.
ive been on fl unemployment since march and the CONNECT system is GARBAGE!!! breaks all the time, kicks u out randomly, and half the agents dont even know how to fix the problems!!! its like they WANT us to mess up so they can deny benefits!!!
UPDATE: I got it working with the keyboard navigation trick! For anyone else having this issue: use TAB to get to the dropdown, arrow keys to select, and ENTER to confirm. DO NOT use your mouse at all during this process or it jumps to the wrong option again. Now I'm at the work search requirements section. Do I really need to list 5 job contacts for each week? That seems like a lot...
Yes, Florida requires 5 work search activities per week for regular unemployment (though some claimants may qualify for exemptions). Make sure you're keeping detailed records of all job contacts including company name, position, application date, contact method, and follow-ups. DEO randomly audits these and can request proof, so don't just make them up. Glad you got past the technical glitch!
UPDATE: Success! After trying all the technical fixes without luck, I ended up using Claimyr to get through to DEO (regular phone method was impossible). The agent confirmed my account was locked due to multiple password reset attempts plus the ID.me verification timing. They manually unlocked it, had me create a new password while on the phone, and I'm now able to access CONNECT! Thank you everyone for your help - couldn't have figured this out without your suggestions.
Glad you got it fixed! This is EXACTLY why I hate the DEO system so much. They make everything unnecessarily complicated and then don't give us any way to actually contact them when their poorly designed systems inevitably fail. And they wonder why people get frustrated! 🙄
Adding to what others have said - when you get on PEUC, your benefit amount stays exactly the same as your regular unemployment. The PEUC extension lasts for 13 weeks or until the program ends (currently scheduled for December 2025), whichever comes first. After PEUC runs out, there's another extension called Extended Benefits (EB) that could give you even more weeks depending on Florida's unemployment rate at that time. But one step at a time - focus on making sure you get on PEUC first when your balance runs low.
One more thing to keep in mind - you still need to claim your weeks on your regular schedule even during that gap period between your balance hitting zero and PEUC kicking in. If you don't, you might not get backpay for those weeks. The system won't let you request payment (since you have no balance), but there should be an option to report/claim your weeks anyway. Keep documenting your work searches too (5 per week) during this transition time.
my sisyer had this same issue. she kept waiting for direcr deposit but they sent her first payment to the way2go card without tellibg her! check if yours did that too
btw if ur payment is late u can also try messaging them on facebook! sounds weird but i got a response in like 2 hours when i did that and they fixed my payment issue

This is a known issue with the CONNECT system that happens in specific circumstances: 1. When your remaining balance is less than your weekly benefit amount 2. When your claim reaches the end of a quarter and triggers an automatic review 3. When you're on your final eligible week and the system incorrectly thinks you've exhausted benefits The solution requires an agent to manually adjust your claim. They need to override the system validation to allow you to claim that final partial week. Unfortunately, this isn't something you can fix yourself through the website. I'd recommend documenting everything: take screenshots of your remaining balance, benefit history, and the missing claim week option. This will help when you speak with an agent. Florida DEO should still pay you for all eligible weeks, but you'll need to get through to someone who can make the manual adjustment.

•Thank you for the detailed explanation! I've taken screenshots of everything as you suggested and will have them ready when I talk to someone. It's frustrating that their system has these kinds of bugs, especially when it's so difficult to reach anyone for help.

@OP - just checking back. Were you able to get this resolved? I'm curious if it was the same issue I had with the remaining balance being less than the weekly amount.

•Yes! You were exactly right. I used Claimyr yesterday morning and got connected to a DEO agent in about 10 minutes. She confirmed my remaining balance was $248 but my weekly benefit amount is $275, so the system wouldn't let me claim it. She had to do some kind of manual override, and the week appeared in my account about an hour later. I was able to claim it right away. Thank you so much for your help - I would have never figured this out on my own!
