DEO removed my final claim week from CONNECT - no option to claim final payment

I'm completely baffled! I logged into my CONNECT account this morning to claim my final eligible week (I've been counting them carefully), but the option is simply NOT THERE anymore. My benefit year doesn't end for another month, and according to my remaining balance, I should have one more week to claim. The system was working fine two weeks ago when I claimed my previous weeks. I've tried logging out and back in multiple times, tried different browsers, even tried at different times of day thinking maybe the system was just glitching. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there some weird rule about claiming final weeks that I don't know about? I know calling the DEO is practically impossible - been trying for days with nothing but busy signals. I really need this final payment for my bills this month. Any advice?

This happened to me back in January! My final week just vanished from the system. After days of trying, I finally found out what happened - if your benefit balance is less than your weekly benefit amount, the system sometimes glitches and doesn't let you claim it. For example, if your weekly benefit is $275 but you only have $265 left, it might not give you the option to claim. You need to contact them to fix this, unfortunately. I finally got through after using Claimyr (claimyr.com) - they connect you directly to a DEO agent instead of you having to redial constantly. There's a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj The agent had to manually adjust something in my account to allow me to claim that final week. Don't give up on that last payment!

Thank you so much for the explanation! That makes sense because I think I do have slightly less than my usual weekly amount left in my balance. I hadn't heard of Claimyr before but I'm going to check it out right now. Did you have to wait long once you were connected?

I'm positive. I've been tracking every payment carefully (learned that lesson the hard way). I've only claimed 11 weeks total and my determination letter says I qualify for 12 weeks. Plus my monetary balance shows I have about $250 left.

THE SYSTEM IS DESIGNED TO FRUSTRATE YOU INTO GIVING UP! This is exactly how they save money - create "glitches" that prevent payments and make it IMPOSSIBLE to talk to anyone. I had THREE weeks disappear during my claim period and spent 47 HOURS on the phone trying to get help. Finally had to contact my state representative's office to get anyone to help me. The whole system is BROKEN BY DESIGN!!!

While I understand your frustration, this is likely a technical issue rather than intentional. The CONNECT system does have known issues with final payments when the remaining balance is less than the weekly benefit amount. The system validation logic sometimes fails to offer the claim option in these edge cases. It's definitely worth contacting them to resolve this.

Have you tried checking if you have any pending fact-finding or work search validation issues? Sometimes the system won't let you claim weeks if there's an unresolved issue on your account. Log in and check the "Determination, Pending Issues and Decision Summary" section to see if anything is pending there. Also check your Inbox for any messages you might have missed.

Thanks for the suggestion. I just double-checked and there's nothing in my pending issues section or my inbox. Everything looks normal except the missing week to claim.

That's a good idea! There's a CareerSource office about 20 minutes from me. I'll try going there tomorrow if I can't get this resolved by phone. Thanks for the suggestion!

I had a similar issue and it turned out my claim was flagged for a quarterly wage review right before my final week. Check if you received any notice about wage verification or quarterly review in your CONNECT inbox or via mail. If that's the case, they won't release the final week until they verify your wages again, which is totally ridiculous since they already verified everything at the beginning! I ended up using that Claimyr service someone mentioned above and got it sorted in about 20 minutes once I actually got through to someone. The agent had to remove the hold manually.

I just checked and don't see anything about wage verification, but that's interesting to know. It could be something similar happening in the background that isn't showing up. I'm definitely going to try Claimyr since multiple people have mentioned it worked for them. At this point, I just want this resolved!

This is a known issue with the CONNECT system that happens in specific circumstances: 1. When your remaining balance is less than your weekly benefit amount 2. When your claim reaches the end of a quarter and triggers an automatic review 3. When you're on your final eligible week and the system incorrectly thinks you've exhausted benefits The solution requires an agent to manually adjust your claim. They need to override the system validation to allow you to claim that final partial week. Unfortunately, this isn't something you can fix yourself through the website. I'd recommend documenting everything: take screenshots of your remaining balance, benefit history, and the missing claim week option. This will help when you speak with an agent. Florida DEO should still pay you for all eligible weeks, but you'll need to get through to someone who can make the manual adjustment.

Thank you for the detailed explanation! I've taken screenshots of everything as you suggested and will have them ready when I talk to someone. It's frustrating that their system has these kinds of bugs, especially when it's so difficult to reach anyone for help.

@OP - just checking back. Were you able to get this resolved? I'm curious if it was the same issue I had with the remaining balance being less than the weekly amount.

Yes! You were exactly right. I used Claimyr yesterday morning and got connected to a DEO agent in about 10 minutes. She confirmed my remaining balance was $248 but my weekly benefit amount is $275, so the system wouldn't let me claim it. She had to do some kind of manual override, and the week appeared in my account about an hour later. I was able to claim it right away. Thank you so much for your help - I would have never figured this out on my own!
