Missing payment after claiming weeks - DEO only paid 1 week instead of 2
I'm so confused about what happened with my recent claim! Last Tuesday I claimed my 2 weeks on CONNECT (I had $3,275 balance in regular UI), but when I checked on Thursday, I only got a direct deposit of $547 for just ONE week! The other week is completely missing and there's no sign of it anywhere in my payment history. The DEO website is now telling me I need to apply for Reemployment Assistance Extension... but I still had money in my regular balance! Will applying for the extension get me the missing week payment? Has the system glitched out? I've tried calling the DEO 17 times today with no luck getting through. This is making me panic since I was counting on both weeks to pay my electric bill before it gets shut off.

Ugh that's so frustrating! Did you keep claiming weeks during those 3 weeks you were waiting? I'm worried if I apply for the extension it will mess something up with my regular claim that still has money in it.

This is actually a known issue with the CONNECT system. When you reach certain thresholds in your claim (often at quarter boundaries or after receiving a specific number of payments), the system sometimes requires you to requalify through an extension application - even if you still show a balance. \n\nHere's what you should do:\n1. Go ahead and apply for the Reemployment Assistance Extension as prompted\n2. Continue claiming weeks as normal during this process\n3. Make sure all your work searches are properly documented\n\nThe extension application will trigger a review of your claim and should resolve the missing payment. This usually takes 7-10 business days to process. The good news is that you won't lose any eligible weeks - they'll be paid retroactively once approved.

Thank you for explaining! That makes sense. I'll apply for the extension right away. Just to double-check, this won't affect my remaining regular UI balance, right? I still have several weeks worth of payments left in there.

I've seen this issue multiple times with clients I've helped navigate the DEO system. It's definitely frustrating but has a reasonable explanation. The DEO system requires regular UI claimants to apply for extensions at certain intervals as a verification measure, even when there's a remaining balance. \n\nThe extension application serves as a requalification process - they review your recent work search activities, verify continued eligibility, and sometimes check for any unreported income. If you've maintained proper work search requirements (5 activities per week) and there are no issues with your claim, they'll approve the extension and release the missing payment.\n\nThe key is making sure you've documented all your work searches properly. In your CONNECT account, you can view which specific week is pending payment under the \

I appreciate the detailed explanation! I have been keeping good records of my work searches (actually doing 6-7 per week just to be safe). I checked the section you mentioned and it does show the second week as

I got through to DEO last week after trying for days! Used a service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) - they got me connected to a real person at DEO in about 45 minutes instead of trying to call for hours myself. The agent explained that these mid-claim \

Thanks for the tip! I'll check out that service if I don't see movement on my claim soon. Did DEO back-date the payment to when it was originally due?

Wait so do we apply for PEUC or regular extension? Are they the same thing? I'm getting so confused with all these different programs.

Great question. The PEUC program ended in September 2021. What you're seeing now is just called the Reemployment Assistance Extension. When the system tells you to apply for an extension, just follow the prompts in CONNECT. It's not the same as the pandemic-era PEUC program. This is simply their term for continuing your regular claim after certain review points.

this is EXACTLY why the DEO system is complete garbage!! they play these stupid games with our claims for no reason except to make it harder to get benefits. my neighbor had the same \

One more tip - after you submit the extension application, you should receive an email confirmation. If you don't get this within 24 hours, log back into CONNECT and make sure the application was actually submitted successfully. Sometimes the system times out without warning or has submission errors. \n\nAlso, if it's been more than 10 business days since applying for the extension and you haven't received the missing payment, you can request a call back through your CONNECT inbox. Send a message with \

Thank you for the extra advice! I just submitted the extension application and did get the confirmation email, so that's a good start. I'll wait 10 business days as you suggested before sending a message through CONNECT. I really appreciate everyone's help with this!

I'm dealing with something similar right now! Filed my extension application 8 days ago after DEO only paid me for 1 week out of 2, and I'm still waiting. The whole system seems designed to create these random delays and confusion. At least you got the confirmation email - that's a good sign that it went through properly. Keep us updated on how long it takes to resolve, because I'm getting anxious about my own timeline. Really hoping they backdate the payment to when it was originally due!

•I'm in a very similar boat! Just went through this same issue where DEO only paid 1 out of 2 weeks I claimed. The stress is real when you're counting on that money for bills. Based on what others have shared here, it sounds like 8 days is still within the normal processing window (7-10 business days), so hopefully you'll see movement soon. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they do backdate both of our payments - it would be really unfair if they didn't since this seems to be their system glitch, not anything we did wrong. Thanks for sharing your timeline, it helps to know I'm not the only one going through this right now!

This whole situation is so stressful! I'm going through something very similar - DEO paid me for only one week when I claimed two, and now they're telling me to apply for an extension even though I still have a balance left. Reading through everyone's responses here has been really helpful though. It sounds like this is just how their system works at certain points in your claim, which is confusing but at least there's a solution. I'm going to follow the advice about applying for the extension right away and keeping detailed records of my work searches. Has anyone had experience with how long the backpay takes once the extension gets approved? I'm really hoping they don't make us wait weeks for money that should have been paid on schedule.
