DEO system glitch? Missing claim weeks after representative escalation - no progress in 2+ weeks

I'm having a super frustrating issue with my CONNECT account right now. About 3 weeks ago, I noticed that several of my previous eligible weeks completely disappeared from my account - they're not showing as claimed or available to claim, just GONE. I called DEO after trying to fix it myself for a week (and spending hours getting disconnected), finally reached a representative who said she saw the missing weeks on her end and would 'escalate the technical issue to the IT department.' She promised it would be resolved in 5-7 business days, but it's been over 2 weeks now and nothing has changed! Has anyone dealt with missing weeks like this? I'm worried I'll never get to claim these weeks and will lose out on benefits I'm entitled to. I've been checking CONNECT multiple times daily and feeling completely helpless.

This happened to me last month! The CONNECT system has been super glitchy since they did that update in January. In my case, the weeks suddenly reappeared after 18 days (I was counting every single day). When you called, did the rep give you a confirmation number for the escalation? That's really important because if you call back, you can reference that number. Also, make sure to check your 'Determination, Pending Issues and Decision Summary' section - sometimes there's a hidden issue there that's blocking your weeks from showing up.

Thanks for responding! No, the rep didn't give me a confirmation number for the escalation 😩 which now makes me wonder if she actually did anything at all. I've been checking the Determination section daily and there's nothing new there. Should I call again and specifically ask for a confirmation number this time?

same thing happend to me. waited 3 weeks and nothing. had to call like 20 times before i got someone helpful

This is a pretty common technical issue with CONNECT, unfortunately. Here's what you need to do: 1. Call again, but specifically ask for a Tier 2 representative - the regular reps often don't have permission to fix these backend issues 2. Request an 'Account Audit' specifically - this forces them to review all your claims history 3. Get a confirmation/reference number for your case 4. Ask them to send you an email confirmation of the escalation 5. If you don't see the weeks appear within 7 days, call again with your reference number Also, document everything! Write down the date/time of your calls, representative names, and what they told you. This will be crucial if you need to file an appeal later for those missing weeks.

This is incredibly helpful! I had no idea about asking for a Tier 2 rep or requesting an Account Audit. I'll definitely call tomorrow morning and follow these steps exactly. Should I also submit something through the CONNECT message center or is phone the best way?

Phone is definitely more effective than the message center. The message center requests can sit unread for weeks. When you call, be persistent about getting transferred to a Tier 2 rep - sometimes the first person will try to tell you they can handle it (they usually can't for this specific issue).

The EXACT same thing happened with my claim! I was missing 4 weeks that just vanished from my claim history. I tried calling for days but couldn't get through - constant busy signals and disconnects. I finally used Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get through to a DEO agent. They have this service where they call DEO for you and connect you when they reach a representative. Worked perfectly and saved me days of frustration. There's a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj The agent I spoke with said it was a known glitch in the system affecting multiple accounts. They had to manually restore my missing weeks and it took about 5 business days after that call for them to reappear. Definitely worth getting confirmation numbers for everything.

is that service legit? seems sketchy to have someone else call for you..

It's legit - they don't access your account or anything. They just connect the call when they get through to DEO and then you talk directly to the DEO agent. It saved me hours of redial frustration.

DEO IS THE WORST!!! I had weeks missing for over a MONTH before they fixed it!!! And guess what? No back pay for the delay THEY caused! The system is DESIGNED to make us give up. CONNECT more like DIS-CONNECT am I right?? 😡 Every time they do a system update they break something else. My neighbor works in IT and says their whole system is running on outdated technology from like 2013! Keep calling EVERY DAY until they fix it. That's the ONLY way to get anything done with these people!

A MONTH?? That's terrifying... I really hope mine doesn't take that long. Did you have to do anything special to finally get it resolved?

when this happened to me it was because i had a pending issue that i didn't know about. check your inbox in connect for any fact finding questionnaires you might have missed. sometimes they don't send you an email notification when they add those.

Thanks for the suggestion! I just double-checked my inbox and there's nothing there, no fact finding questionnaires or anything pending. The weird thing is that the rep I talked to could SEE the missing weeks on her end, so they exist somewhere in the system...

Update us on what happens! I'm curious if the Tier 2 rep approach works for you. In my experience, every time I've had an issue with DEO, it's taken exactly 3 weeks for anything to get resolved - it's like they have some internal policy about how long to make us wait. Also, keep checking your inbox multiple times daily. Sometimes the system sends notifications at odd hours (like 2am) when they're doing maintenance.

I'll definitely post an update! Going to try calling first thing tomorrow morning. Really hoping I don't have to wait another full week - my bills are starting to pile up and I was counting on those benefit payments.

One more important thing I forgot to mention - make sure you're still claiming your current weeks on schedule, even while waiting for the missing weeks to be restored. I've seen cases where people focus so much on the missing past weeks that they miss their current claiming window and lose even more weeks. The DEO system doesn't give any flexibility on claim deadlines, unfortunately.

That's a really good point! Yes, I've still been claiming my current weeks on schedule. It's just super stressful watching my bank account dwindle while waiting for these missing weeks to reappear.

I've tried both Chrome and Firefox, but not Edge. I'll give that a try today, thanks for the suggestion!

has anyone had any luck contacting their state representative about DEO issues? i heard they can sometimes help speed things up

YES! This can actually work really well. Email your state rep with your claimant ID, the issue you're having, and all the steps you've taken so far. Many have staff dedicated to helping constituents with DEO problems. They often have direct contacts at higher levels of DEO that we don't have access to.

the deo website says they have a backlog right now because of some technical update they did last month. maybe thats why its taking so long for everyone

UPDATE: I finally got through to DEO this morning! Had to call 14 times before I wasn't disconnected. The representative confirmed there was a system glitch that affected my account and several others. She said the missing weeks should reappear within 48-72 hours and gave me a confirmation number this time. She also added a note that I'm eligible for those weeks when they do appear. Fingers crossed this actually works! Thanks everyone for your advice - especially about asking for the Tier 2 rep and getting confirmation numbers.

Great news! Make sure to set a calendar reminder for 72 hours from now so you can follow up if the weeks don't appear. And hold onto that confirmation number like it's gold!

That's fantastic news! 🎉 Really hoping those weeks show up for you in the next few days. Your experience is going to be super helpful for others dealing with this same issue. The fact that you had to call 14 times just to get through is absolutely ridiculous though - DEO really needs to fix their phone system along with all these technical glitches. Keep us posted on whether the weeks actually appear!
