Email says I can claim weeks but CONNECT system not showing option - anyone else experiencing this?
I'm so confused right now. Just got an email from DEO saying I'm eligible to claim my weeks, but when I logged into CONNECT there's no option showing up for me to actually claim them! I've refreshed the page like 10 times and even tried logging out and back in. The dashboard just shows my claim status as active but there's no link or button to claim weeks anywhere. Has anyone else had this happen? Do I just need to wait a few hours for the system to update or something? This is my first time filing for unemployment after being laid off from my restaurant job last month and I'm already stressed about making rent.

DEO's email notifications and CONNECT system updates aren't always in sync. I've seen this happen several times. Try these steps: 1. Clear your browser cache and cookies 2. Try a different browser altogether 3. Wait 24 hours - sometimes the system takes time to update 4. Check if you're looking in the right place - the link should be under the "Weekly Benefit Details" section Also, make sure you're logging in on the correct day. Florida assigns claiming days based on the last digit of your SSN. If today isn't your assigned day, you won't see the option yet.

•Thank you! I didn't know about the assigned days based on SSN. Where can I find out which day is mine? I checked that Weekly Benefit Details section and there's nothing there either. I'll try clearing cache and using a different browser right now.

OMG THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME LAST WEEK!!! The email came but the claim button wasn't there. I freaked out thinking I did something wrong or missed my claiming window. I called DEO for 3 DAYS STRAIGHT with no answer. Then on the 4th day I logged in and suddenly the option was there! I think their system is just SUPER slow to update sometimes. So frustrating!!

•3 days?? That's ridiculous! Did you do anything special to make it appear or it just randomly showed up? I really can't afford to wait that long...

I work with unemployment claimants regularly, and this is actually a common issue with the CONNECT system. What's likely happening is one of three things: 1. Your claim effective date means your first available week to claim hasn't actually been reached yet (despite the email) 2. There's a system lag between eligibility determination and the claiming function being activated 3. There might be a pending issue requiring adjudication before you can claim The fastest way to resolve this is speaking directly with a DEO agent who can see the backend of your claim. Unfortunately, as others mentioned, reaching them can be nearly impossible by normal methods.

•Thanks for the detailed explanation. My claim effective date was two weeks ago, so I should definitely have weeks available to claim by now. I'm worried there might be some pending issue I don't know about. How can I find out if I need adjudication?

After dealing with similar DEO system issues for weeks, I finally tried Claimyr to get through to an actual DEO agent. It was the only thing that worked after days of busy signals and disconnects. The service connects you to a DEO rep who can check what's happening with your specific claim and fix these weird system issues. You can see how it works at https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj or go to claimyr.com. In my case, there was a flag on my account preventing the claim weeks button from appearing, and the agent removed it while I was on the phone.

•I've heard about Claimyr but wasn't sure if it actually worked! Wish I knew about this before wasting 3 days calling DEO myself.

•Thank you for suggesting this. I'll check out the video. Did they tell you what caused the flag on your account? I'm wondering if I might have the same issue.

Not to go off topic but this reminds me of when I applied last year and the system kept saying I had a fraud alert on my account for literally no reason. Took me calling my state representative to get it fixed! The DEO system is honestly from like 1995 or something. Good luck!

Just checking back - did any of the suggestions work for you? Sometimes the CONNECT system also goes through maintenance periods where certain features aren't available. They usually do this overnight but occasionally during daytime hours.

•I tried everything suggested. Clearing cache, different browser, waiting 24 hours. Finally got through to a DEO agent using that Claimyr service someone mentioned. Turns out I had a work search verification flag that was preventing my claim weeks from appearing. The agent removed it and now I can see the claim button! Such a relief. Thanks everyone for your help!

The exact same thing happened to me!!! The email comes WAY before the system actually updates. DEO's left hand doesn't know what the right is doing half the time. The most annoying part is you only have a limited window to claim your weeks, but then they don't even make the option available when they say it will be. Classic Florida unemployment problems lol.
