DEO first payment stuck in pending but received $600 - what's happening?
So I just claimed my first two weeks in the CONNECT system and it's showing 'pending' status, but when I check the pending issues page there's absolutely nothing showing up! I'm totally confused about what this means. Do I need to call them? Will it just resolve on its own? The weird thing is I just got a $600 deposit in my bank account yesterday, but my regular unemployment still says pending. I don't understand if this means I'm approved or not? This is my first time filing for unemployment after being laid off from my hotel job last month. The DEO website is so confusing! Anyone know what's going on with this pending status but still getting a payment?

•Really? I thought the extra federal payments ended years ago! So confused now. Does that mean my regular claim is approved if I got the $600?

There's no active federal supplement of $600 currently in 2025. The previous federal supplements (FPUC, etc.) ended years ago. What you're seeing is likely your regular Florida unemployment benefits for your two weeks. The 'pending' status often happens during the first payment cycle while the system fully processes your claim. If you received money, that's generally a good sign that your claim has been approved, but the system hasn't fully updated your status yet. Check your payment history in CONNECT to confirm the $600 payment source. Florida's current maximum weekly benefit is $375, so two weeks would be a maximum of $750 (minus taxes if you elected to have them withheld). The pending status should resolve itself within 48-72 hours.

•Thank you so much for explaining! I just checked payment history and you're right - it shows two weeks at $300 each. I guess they took taxes out. So weird that it paid me but still shows pending. The CONNECT system is so confusing!

Congrats on getting paid! Sometimes the system pays you but takes forever to update the status. Classic DEO move lol

I've been dealing with Florida unemployment for THREE MONTHS and still haven't seen a DIME!! How did you get paid so fast while I'm still stuck in adjudication hell?! The system is completely BROKEN!! Did you do something special to get your claim processed? I've called like 50 times and they just disconnect me or put me on hold forever. 😡😡😡

•Honestly I have no idea! I just applied online, did the ID.me verification, and claimed my weeks when prompted. I didn't talk to anyone. Maybe it depends on your specific situation? I hope you get your money soon, that's terrible!

When my claim was in pending last month, I couldn't get through to anyone at DEO on the regular number. I tried for days with no luck. Then I used this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that got me connected to a live agent within 30 minutes. They have a video demo that shows how it works: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj The agent was able to tell me exactly what was going on with my pending status and fixed it while I was on the phone. Might be worth trying if you need to speak to someone directly about the pending issue.

•Does this actually work?? I'm desperate to talk to someone about my claim!

•It worked for me! Got through to a real person who could actually see my claim details and help. Way better than waiting for the system to update on its own or trying to guess what's happening.

The pending status with no issues showing on the pending issues page typically means your claim is going through the standard processing. When you first start claiming weeks, the system sometimes pays out while still showing pending in some views. This is normal system behavior. Here's what you should know: 1. If you received payment, your claim is very likely approved. 2. The CONNECT system often takes 2-3 business days to fully update statuses across all pages. 3. Check your determination status page to confirm there are no outstanding issues. 4. Your first payment may be delayed by a week due to the Florida waiting week policy. 5. Make sure you continue claiming weeks on your scheduled days even if some areas still show pending. This is standard for new claims and usually resolves itself without any action needed from you.

•Thanks for the detailed explanation! It's showing "Eligible" on my monetary determination page, so I guess that confirms I'm approved? I'll keep claiming on my scheduled dates.

•Yes, "Eligible" on your monetary determination is exactly what you want to see! That confirms your claim has been approved. The pending status will update soon. Just make sure you complete your 5 work search activities each week before claiming your next weeks.

Quick tip: take screenshots of EVERYTHING. I had a similar situation and then my account got locked for "verification" and I needed proof of what had happened before. The DEO system is weird like that.

It sounds like you're in good shape! Getting that $600 payment while showing "pending" is actually pretty normal for first-time claimants. The CONNECT system has always been quirky about updating statuses - it'll often process and pay your claim before all the status indicators catch up. Since you mentioned you don't see any issues on the pending issues page and you got paid, that's usually a sign everything is moving along correctly. Just keep claiming your weeks as scheduled and the pending status should clear up in the next few days. Welcome to the unemployment club - it's confusing at first but you'll get the hang of it!

•Thank you! That's really reassuring to hear. I was so worried something was wrong when I saw "pending" but then got the money. The whole system seemed backwards to me! I'll definitely keep claiming on schedule. It's nice to know this is normal and I'm not the only one who found it confusing at first.

This happened to me too when I first started claiming! The $600 for two weeks sounds right - that's $300 per week which is pretty typical for Florida unemployment benefits. The "pending" status is just the system being slow to catch up with itself. Since you got paid and don't see any issues on the pending issues page, you're probably all set. The status should update to "paid" or "processed" within a few days. Just make sure to keep doing your work search activities and claim your weeks on time. The CONNECT system is notorious for being confusing but you're doing everything right!

•This is exactly what I needed to hear! I was getting so anxious seeing "pending" everywhere but then getting the money. You're right about the $300 per week - that matches what I calculated based on my previous wages. I've been doing my work searches through the state website already so I should be good there. It's such a relief to know this is normal system behavior and not something I messed up. Thanks for taking the time to explain it so clearly!

I'm new to this whole unemployment process too and your situation sounds very similar to what I just went through! I filed my first claim about 3 weeks ago and had the exact same thing - got paid but everything still showed "pending" for almost a week. It was so nerve-wracking! From what I've learned, the DEO system is just really slow to update all the different pages. If you got your money and your monetary determination says "Eligible" then you're golden. The pending status will eventually catch up. Just don't stress about it like I did - keep claiming your weeks and doing your work searches. The whole system is confusing but once you get the rhythm down it gets easier. Congrats on getting through the initial hurdle!
