CONNECT showing both regular unemployment and old PEU claim - what's going on with my DEO account?
I'm totally confused about my claim status right now. I just filed a new regular unemployment claim in CONNECT last week after my contract position ended. The new claim is showing as 'pending' which I expected, but for some reason my old PEU claim from 2025 is still visible in my account too! Anyone else had this weird overlap issue? Do I need to contact DEO to get this fixed or will the system eventually update itself? I'm worried this might delay my benefits or cause problems with my new claim. Thanks for any help!

This is actually pretty common in the CONNECT system. The old program designation sometimes stays visible even when you file a new claim. What matters is what program your NEW claim shows under the 'Current Program' section. As long as your new claim says Regular Unemployment (RA) and shows a monetary determination, you should be fine. The system will eventually update fully.

•Thank you! It does show RA under Current Program, but no monetary determination yet. It just says 'pending' everywhere. Do you know how long that usually takes to update?

THISS EXACT THING happened to me in February!!! The DEO system is a complete MESS and they never clean up old claims properly. I had to call them 37 TIMES before getting through to fix it because my payments were being calculated wrong. They were using my old wage info instead of new!!!! YOU NEED TO CALL THEM ASAP or you might get wrong payment amounts!!!

•I had this issue too but it resolved itself after about a week. The system just takes time to fully process everything. As long as you're claiming your weeks properly, it should work out fine without calling.

•That's reassuring to hear! Did his benefits start automatically or did he have to call someone first?

Wait what's PEU? Is that different from PUA? I'm getting so confused with all these programs. I just applied for the first time last week.

•PEU stands for Pandemic Emergency Unemployment. It was one of the special COVID programs that ended years ago. Regular unemployment (RA) is the standard program now. If you just applied, you'll be under RA, not any pandemic program.

If you need to actually reach someone at DEO to fix this (which you might), try using Claimyr. I was in a similar situation with an old claim causing issues with my new one and spent DAYS trying to get through on my own. With Claimyr I got connected to a real agent in about 20 minutes. Check out their video demo at https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj or go to claimyr.com. Seriously saved me so much frustration after getting disconnected for the 10th time trying to call directly.

•Yes! I used this service too after trying for WEEKS to get through! Only way I got my claim fixed. Worth every penny rather than dealing with busy signals all day!!!

To answer your question about timing: The monetary determination usually takes 7-10 business days to process. During that time, make sure you're still claiming your weeks according to your scheduled days (even while pending) and completing all 5 required work searches per week. Document everything carefully. Regarding the old claim showing: This is mostly a visual issue in CONNECT. The system keeps historical claim data visible but your benefits will be based on your new claim information once processed. If after 3 weeks you still don't see a monetary determination, then I'd suggest calling to check if there's a specific issue holding things up.

•Thank you so much for the detailed explanation! I'll keep claiming my weeks and make sure I'm doing all 5 work searches. If nothing updates by the end of the month I'll definitely call to check.

Just to add to what others have said - make sure you click on the current claim (the new Regular Unemployment one) when you're navigating through CONNECT. The system sometimes defaults to showing your old claim info which can be really confusing. There should be a dropdown menu somewhere that lets you select which claim you're viewing. Always verify you're looking at and making changes to your new claim.

•OMG this is probably why I was getting so confused last time I filed! I didn't realize there was a dropdown to switch between claims! No wonder everything looked weird.

Check if you have any pending fact-finding or identity verification requirements. Sometimes when you file a new claim while an old one is still in the system, it triggers additional verification steps. Look in the "Determination, Pending Issues and Decision Summary" section of CONNECT. That might explain why it's still pending and showing both claims.

•I just checked and there's nothing under pending issues yet. The system probably just needs more time to process everything like others suggested. I'll wait another week before getting too worried.
