Money Network notification settings not working - anyone getting deposit alerts?
Has anyone figured out how to actually get notifications from Money Network when EDD funds are deposited? I switched from direct deposit to the Money Network card last month, and I've been trying to set up alerts so I know when my benefits hit the card. I went into the app settings and turned on BOTH email and mobile push notifications, but I'm not getting anything - no texts, no emails, nothing! I've certified twice now and had to keep manually checking the app to see if my money arrived. This is super frustrating since I need to know exactly when funds are available to pay bills. Anyone else having this problem or found a solution?

Same here! I've been using Money Network since January and their notification system is completely useless. I turned on every possible alert option and still get zero notifications when my weekly certification payments post. I've had to set calendar reminders to manually check the app every payment day. It's ridiculous that they can't get something this basic working right.

•Ugh, so it's not just me! Have you tried contacting their customer service? I was thinking about calling but honestly their wait times are probably terrible.

The Money Network notification system has been buggy since they rolled out the updated app version last quarter. What worked for me was deleting the app completely, then reinstalling it and setting up notifications during the initial setup process rather than changing them later in settings. Also make sure your email isn't filtering them to spam - I found a bunch of deposit alerts in my junk folder after thinking they weren't sending any.

•This actually worked for me too! Had to uninstall the app, then when I reinstalled it and set up notifications during the initial setup everything started working. Now I get both text and email alerts whenever EDD funds hit my card. Might be worth a try.

idk if this helps but i just text BAL to 42265 whenever i think my money should be there. you get an automatic text back with your current balance. easier than dealing with their garbage app tbh

•That's a good workaround for checking the balance, but I was really hoping for automatic notifications so I don't have to remember to check. I'll try that text feature though - thanks!

I went through this exact same problem with Money Network notifications after my last certification period. Their customer service was ZERO help - waited 45 minutes to talk to someone who just told me to "wait 24-48 hours for the system to update" which of course never happened. If you're having trouble reaching someone at Money Network or EDD directly about this issue, I'd recommend trying Claimyr. Found them at claimyr.com and they got me connected with an actual EDD rep who helped sort out my Money Network issues. They have a video showing how it works here: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km. Saved me hours of redial frustration.

•is that service legit? seems sketchy to have someone else call edd for you...

•It's completely legit - they don't call for you, they just get you in the call queue so you don't have to keep redialing. You still talk to EDD yourself. Saved me from spending all day hitting redial.

You're all missing the ACTUAL solution lol. Money Network has TWO different places to set notifications! Go to the app, then tap Account, then Communication Preferences. Then ALSO go to Settings > Notifications and make sure both are turned on. The notifications won't work unless both are activated. This drove me crazy for weeks until I figured it out!

•Wait, seriously?? They have notification settings in TWO different places? That's so confusing! I'm going to try this right now - thank you!

•OMG THIS WORKED!! I've been struggling with this for months! Just got my first notification after changing both settings. Why would they design it this way??

UPDATE: I tried what @profile6 suggested about changing notifications in BOTH places, and it actually worked! I just got my first deposit alert email this morning when my certification payment hit. Such a confusing system but I'm glad to finally have it working. Thanks everyone for your help!

•Great to hear! The Money Network card system has so many quirks like this that aren't documented anywhere. Glad you got it sorted out!

I had this EXACT same issue and it was driving me nuts! Turns out Money Network has a weird bug where if you have any special characters in your email address (like periods or plus signs), the notifications won't send properly. I had to change my notification email to a simpler Gmail address without any dots or symbols, and now I get alerts every time. Worth checking if your email has any unusual formatting - might be why some people's notifications work and others don't even after fixing the dual settings issue.

•Wow, that's such a weird bug! My email does have a dot in it (firstname.lastname@gmail.com) so that might explain why I'm still having issues even after trying the dual settings fix. I'll try setting up notifications with a simpler email address and see if that helps. Thanks for sharing this - would never have thought the email format could be causing problems!

This thread is so helpful! I've been dealing with the same Money Network notification issues for weeks. Just tried the dual settings fix that @Omar mentioned (Account > Communication Preferences AND Settings > Notifications) and also switched to a simpler email address without any dots like @Sofia suggested. Fingers crossed this combination finally works - will update after my next certification payment posts. It's crazy how poorly designed their notification system is, but at least the community here figured out the workarounds!

•Hope that combo works for you! I'm new here but dealing with the same nightmare - been manually checking the app like a crazy person every few days after certifying. Just updated both notification settings and switched to my backup Gmail without any dots. It's honestly ridiculous that we have to jump through all these hoops just to know when our benefits are deposited. Will definitely be following this thread to see if your fix works!

Just wanted to add another potential fix that worked for me after trying everything else in this thread! If you're still having issues even after the dual settings fix and switching to a simpler email, try logging out of the Money Network app completely, then log back in and re-enable notifications. For some reason their system seems to "forget" your notification preferences if you've had the app installed for a while before trying to set them up. I had to do this combo: logout/login + dual settings + simple email address, and now I finally get reliable deposit alerts. It's such a mess of a system but at least there's a way to make it work!

•This is incredibly helpful! I just joined this community because I've been having the exact same Money Network notification nightmare for the past month. It's so frustrating having to constantly check the app manually. I'm going to try your full combo approach - logout/login, dual settings, AND switching to a simpler email. Really appreciate everyone sharing these workarounds since Money Network's support is basically useless. Will report back after my next certification to see if it finally works!

I'm new to this community but dealing with the exact same Money Network notification issues! Been on unemployment for about 3 weeks now and switched to their card thinking it would be more convenient than direct deposit - what a mistake that was. I've tried enabling notifications multiple times but never get any alerts when my benefits are deposited. Reading through all these responses is super helpful though - sounds like there are actually several different fixes to try. Going to start with the dual settings approach (@Omar's suggestion about Account > Communication Preferences AND Settings > Notifications) and if that doesn't work I'll try the simpler email address trick too. It's honestly insane that we have to become tech support experts just to get basic deposit notifications working. Thanks everyone for sharing your solutions!
