Money Network app verification code not working - can't access EDD funds

Getting really frustrated with the Money Network app! I've been trying to log in for TWO DAYS to check my unemployment funds, but the verification codes never come through. I've tried both email and text message options but nothing shows up. When I called their customer service, I just got stuck in an endless menu loop. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a trick to getting the codes to work? I'm worried about my EDD payments since I can't even check my balance. My rent is due next week and I NEED to access my funds!

Did you try contacting Money Network support? I'm going to try again tomorrow morning, hoping maybe it's just a temporary system issue.

This happened to me last month. The Money Network system sometimes has delays with verification codes during maintenance periods (usually weekends). Try these steps: 1. Clear your browser cache if using the website instead of the app 2. Make sure your phone number/email are correctly listed in your profile 3. Check your spam/junk folders for the email codes 4. Try logging in during non-peak hours (early morning) 5. If nothing works after 48 hours, call Money Network directly at 855-282-6161 and ask to speak with a supervisor Also worth checking if your EDD debit card hasn't expired - they only last 3 years and sometimes they mail replacements that get lost.

Thank you! I'll check my spam folder right now - didn't think of that. My card shouldn't be expired since I just got it in January. Will try calling that direct number tomorrow if I still can't get in.

THE MONEY NETWORK SYSTEM IS GARBAGE!! I've had nothing but problems since they switched from BofA. First they sent my card to my old address, then the app crashes constantly, and now I can't even verify my identity half the time. I've probably spent 20+ hours on the phone with both EDD and Money Network trying to sort out issues. The whole system feels designed to make it hard for us to access OUR MONEY. I miss the old Bank of America cards - at least those worked consistently!

so true!! and the worst part is the customer service. i swear they just read from scripts and cant actually help with any real problems.

This is a pretty common issue with the Money Network app. In addition to what others have suggested, make sure you have a strong internet connection when requesting the verification code. Their system can time out if your connection drops even briefly during the process. One thing that worked for me was setting up direct deposit to my regular bank account instead of using the Money Network card. This way, you don't have to deal with their app issues. You can set this up in your UI Online account under "Payment Preferences." If you absolutely need to access your funds now and can't get into the app, you can also visit an ATM that accepts Money Network cards (most do) and check your balance/withdraw cash that way without needing the app.

That's a smart idea about the direct deposit. I'm going to look into switching to that option. In the meantime, I did try an ATM but it only shows my available balance, not pending deposits. I need to see if my latest payment went through.

When I was having trouble getting through to Money Network about my verification codes not working, I used Claimyr to connect with an EDD rep who helped me resolve the issue. It helped me get through to a real person instead of listening to busy signals all day. You might want to check out their video demo at https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km and their website at claimyr.com. The EDD rep was actually able to help with the Money Network issue and verified my payment had been processed correctly.

It worked for me after I wasted three days trying to get through on my own. The EDD rep I got connected with was able to confirm my payment status and helped me get the issue escalated to Money Network's technical team.

Just saw your update - if you're still having problems, try calling during non-peak hours (right when they open). Also, you can request a temporary password reset at the Money Network website that bypasses the verification code system. It's not obvious, but if you click "Help" and then "Account Access Issues" there's an alternative verification path using your card number and last 4 of your SSN.

THANK YOU!!! The account access issues section worked! I was able to get in using my card number and SSN. My payment did go through, such a relief. Going to set up direct deposit now to avoid these headaches in the future.

I've been dealing with Money Network issues for months now and what's really helped me is keeping a backup plan. I switched to direct deposit like others mentioned, but I also keep the physical card as backup. One thing nobody mentioned - if you're having verification code issues, try using a different device entirely. Sometimes the app gets "stuck" on one device but works fine on another phone or tablet. Also, make sure your Money Network app is updated to the latest version - they push updates pretty frequently to fix bugs. For immediate access when the app fails, you can also call the automated phone line at 1-855-282-6161 and check your balance/recent transactions without needing to log into the app. It's not as convenient but it works when you need to verify payments quickly.

This is really helpful advice! I never thought about trying a different device. I've been struggling with the same app on my phone for days. Going to try logging in on my laptop instead and see if that works better. The backup phone number is also a great tip - sometimes you just need to know your balance is there even if you can't access the full app features.

Having the same verification code nightmare! What finally worked for me was switching to email verification instead of SMS - turns out my carrier was blocking the text messages from Money Network. Also, try logging in through the website instead of the app if you haven't already. The web version seems more stable and I had better luck getting codes through there. If you're still stuck, you can also withdraw cash at any ATM that accepts Visa to at least access your funds while you sort out the app issues. Most grocery stores and banks have ATMs that work with the Money Network card.

Great point about switching to email verification! I had the same issue with SMS codes not coming through and it turned out my phone was automatically filtering them as spam. The email option was much more reliable. Also wanted to add that if you're using the ATM route, make sure to check if there are any fees first - some ATMs charge extra for Money Network cards but others (like most bank ATMs) don't charge anything for balance inquiries.

I had this exact same issue a few weeks ago and it was so stressful! What ended up working for me was a combination of things - first, I cleared all my browser data and cookies, then tried requesting the verification code through the website instead of the app. I also had to update my phone number in my Money Network profile because apparently it was still showing an old number even though I thought I had updated it. One thing that really helped was calling during their "off-peak" hours - I called at 7 AM Pacific time and actually got through to a real person within 10 minutes instead of the usual hour+ wait. They were able to manually send me a verification code that worked right away. In the meantime, you can use any ATM to check your balance and withdraw cash if you need immediate access to your funds. Most Walmart, Target, and bank ATMs work with the Money Network card without extra fees. Hope this helps and you get it sorted out soon!

This is super helpful! I'm dealing with the same verification code nightmare right now and getting really stressed about it. Definitely going to try calling early in the morning - didn't think about timing making such a big difference. Quick question though - when you updated your phone number in your Money Network profile, did you have to verify the new number somehow or did it just let you change it? I'm wondering if that might be part of my problem too since I changed carriers a few months ago but kept the same number.

I've been having the exact same verification code issues with Money Network! What's been working for me is using the website version instead of the mobile app - it seems way more stable. Also, make sure to check if your phone carrier is blocking the SMS codes as potential spam. I had to contact my carrier (Verizon) and ask them to whitelist Money Network's number. If you need immediate access to your funds, you can use the card at any ATM that accepts Visa - most grocery stores and banks work fine and won't charge fees for balance checks or withdrawals. I know it's frustrating when you just need to see if your payment went through, but the ATM option at least lets you verify your available balance while you're sorting out the app problems. One other tip - try requesting the verification code and then wait a full 5-10 minutes before requesting another one. Sometimes they come through delayed and requesting multiple codes can actually block the system from sending them. Hope you get it resolved soon!

Thanks for the detailed tips! I'm definitely going to try the website version - I've only been using the mobile app and it's been nothing but frustration. The point about waiting 5-10 minutes between verification code requests is really smart too. I think I may have been making it worse by spam-clicking the "send code" button when nothing was showing up. Going to give it another shot tomorrow morning with more patience and see if that helps. Really appreciate everyone sharing their experiences here!

I had this EXACT same problem last week and it was driving me crazy! What finally worked for me was switching from the mobile app to logging in through their website on my computer. The verification codes came through immediately when I used the web version. Also, try logging out completely and then logging back in - sometimes the app gets stuck in a weird state where it thinks it's sending codes but they never actually go out. I spent hours troubleshooting before I realized I needed to fully sign out first. If you're still having trouble, you can call Money Network at 1-855-282-6161 and press 0 to get to a live person (might take a while but it works). They can manually verify your identity and give you temporary access. In the meantime, you can use any ATM to check your balance and withdraw cash - just make sure to use a bank ATM to avoid fees. Hang in there, I know how stressful it is when you can't access your benefits!

This is really reassuring to hear! I've been banging my head against the wall with the mobile app for days now. Going to try the website version right after I post this. The tip about fully logging out first is something I hadn't thought of - I've just been closing and reopening the app but never actually signed out properly. Also good to know about pressing 0 to reach a live person, I kept getting stuck in their automated menu system. Thanks for sharing what worked for you!

I've been lurking in this community for a while but finally had to create an account because I'm dealing with this EXACT same issue right now! It's so frustrating when you need to check if your payment went through and you can't even get into the app. Reading through all these responses has been super helpful though. I'm definitely going to try the website version instead of the mobile app, and I hadn't thought about checking my spam folder for the email codes. Also going to look into switching to direct deposit like several people mentioned - seems like that would solve a lot of these headaches. One question for those who've dealt with this - about how long did it take for the verification codes to start working again? I'm on day 2 of trying and getting pretty anxious about missing any important updates about my claim. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences and solutions!

Welcome to the community! I totally understand your frustration - I went through the same thing about a month ago. For me, it took about 3-4 days for the verification codes to start working consistently again, but that was after I tried the website version instead of the app like others suggested. The direct deposit switch is definitely worth it - I made the change after my issues got resolved and haven't had any problems since. You can set it up in your UI Online account under payment preferences. In the meantime, if you're really worried about missing updates, you can always check your UI Online account directly for claim status updates - that's separate from the Money Network system and usually more reliable anyway. Hang in there, it will get sorted out! This community has been a lifesaver for troubleshooting these kinds of issues.

I'm having the EXACT same problem right now! Been trying to get into the Money Network app for the past day and a half with no luck on the verification codes. It's so stressful when you just need to check if your payment went through. Reading through all these responses has given me hope though - I had no idea about some of these workarounds! Definitely going to try the website version instead of the app, and I'm going to check my spam folder right now. The tip about calling early in the morning is smart too, I've been trying to call during the day when everyone else probably is too. Really appreciate everyone sharing what worked for them. It's frustrating that we have to jump through all these hoops just to access our own money, but at least we can help each other figure it out. Going to try a few of these suggestions and hopefully get back in soon!

Hey Nia, I just went through this same nightmare last week! The website version was definitely the game-changer for me too. Also, when you check your spam folder, make sure to look for emails from "noreply@prepaidcardstatus.com" - that's the address Money Network uses and it's not super obvious. If you find verification emails in spam, mark them as "not spam" so future ones come through to your inbox. The early morning call strategy really works - I got through at 7:15 AM after days of busy signals during normal hours. You've got this!

I'm dealing with this same verification code issue right now and it's so frustrating! I've been locked out for almost 24 hours trying to check if my weekly payment posted. Reading through everyone's suggestions here is really helpful - I had no idea about trying the website instead of the mobile app or checking spam folders for the email codes. One thing I wanted to add that might help others - I just discovered you can also text "BAL" to 22622 from the phone number associated with your Money Network account to get your current balance sent back as a text message. It's not as detailed as logging into the app, but at least it lets you quickly verify if your payment went through while you're troubleshooting the login issues. Going to try the website version and calling early tomorrow morning like others suggested. Thanks everyone for sharing what worked for you - this community is a lifesaver when dealing with these technical problems!
