Money Network card app completely locked me out - can't reset password or access funds

Has anyone else been locked out of the Money Network app? I've been trying since yesterday morning to check my EDD funds balance and the app keeps giving me an 'authentication error'. When I try to log in through the website, it says my account is temporarily suspended for 'security reasons'. I called the number on the back of my card and sat on hold for 45 minutes before getting disconnected! I've got rent due on Friday and can't even see how much money I have, let alone transfer it to my bank. The password reset option doesn't even work - it says it's sending a reset email but nothing ever arrives. This is beyond frustrating! How am I supposed to access MY MONEY that EDD deposited?

same thing happened 2 me last week!! the app is garbage lately. try clearing cache or using different browser for the website, worked for me eventually

Thanks, I'll try clearing my cache. Did you have to do anything special with the password reset or did that start working for you?

The Money Network system has been having technical issues since they did that update two weeks ago. A few things to try: 1. Use a desktop/laptop computer rather than phone 2. Try logging in during non-peak hours (early morning works best) 3. Make sure your email address on file is correct - reset emails often go to spam folders 4. If all else fails, you can visit any Bank of America branch with your card and ID to withdraw funds directly The system typically resolves these authentication issues within 48-72 hours automatically, but that doesn't help when you need access immediately.

I didn't realize I could go to a B of A branch! That's really helpful since my rent is due soon. I'll try the other suggestions first though. Thanks!

I've been dealing with Money Network issues for MONTHS! Their entire system is designed to make it difficult to access YOUR OWN MONEY. It's ridiculous that EDD forces us to use this horrible service instead of just doing direct deposit like every other normal organization!!! When I finally got through to customer service after calling 11 TIMES, they told me it would take 7-10 business days to reset my account access. SERIOUSLY?!?! How is that acceptable when people have bills to pay?

preach!! the whole system is broken on purpose i swear

After struggling with Money Network issues myself, I finally managed to get through to an EDD representative who helped me sort it out. I used Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get past the busy signals and actually speak to someone at EDD. They have this video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km The EDD rep explained that they can actually help with Money Network card access issues, which I didn't realize. They were able to verify my identity and escalate the issue to get my account unlocked within 24 hours instead of waiting for the standard process.

I hadn't thought about contacting EDD directly about this! I assumed it was just a Money Network issue. I'll check out that service - at this point I'm desperate to get this resolved before rent is due.

This happened to me once when I entered my password wrong too many times. Have you tried calling from a different phone number? Sometimes their system flags your number if you call repeatedly. Also make sure you're using the right website - there's www.moneynetwork.com AND prepaid.moneynetwork.com and they're totally different systems!

Wait, there are TWO different websites?? That might be my problem! I've been using www.moneynetwork.com this whole time. Going to try the prepaid one right now.

I had this exact issue last month and it was incredibly stressful. Turns out there was a security flag on my account because I tried logging in from a new device. What finally worked for me was: 1. Clear all browser cookies and cache 2. Use Chrome in incognito mode (or Firefox private browsing) 3. Go to prepaid.moneynetwork.com (not the regular site) 4. When it asks for DOB and last 4 of SSN, make sure to enter it EXACTLY as you did when you first registered If that doesn't work, call 1-888-929-2460 which is their special account recovery line. It has a different queue than the regular customer service number.

Thank you SO MUCH for these detailed steps! I'm going to try all of these right now. I didn't even know they had a special account recovery line! Really appreciate the help.

any luck yet? my friend said the app is working again 4 her today

Yes! Finally got in using the special account recovery number that someone recommended. Had to verify my identity again but they fixed it right away. Thanks everyone for the help!

Glad to hear you got it sorted out! This thread is going to be so helpful for others dealing with the same issue. I've bookmarked it because I know Money Network problems come up way too often. The tip about the special account recovery line (1-888-929-2460) is gold - I had no idea that existed either. Really shows how much better this community is at helping each other than the actual customer service!

Totally agree! I just joined this community and I'm already amazed at how helpful everyone is. I've been struggling with EDD issues for weeks and getting more useful info here in one thread than from hours of calling customer service. Definitely saving that recovery number too - seems like Money Network problems are unfortunately pretty common around here. Thanks to everyone who shared their solutions!

This is such a great example of why this community is so valuable! I've been lurking here for a while and finally decided to join after seeing how everyone came together to help solve this Money Network nightmare. I had a similar lockout issue a few months ago and ended up just waiting it out for 5 days because I didn't know about any of these workarounds. Definitely saving that account recovery number (1-888-929-2460) and the tip about using the prepaid.moneynetwork.com site instead of the regular one. It's crazy that we have to become experts in navigating these broken systems just to access our own benefits, but at least we have each other to share the knowledge!

So true about having to become experts in broken systems! I'm new here too and this thread has been eye-opening. It's ridiculous that accessing unemployment benefits requires this level of technical troubleshooting. Really grateful for communities like this where people actually help each other navigate these bureaucratic nightmares. The fact that there are multiple websites, special phone numbers, and all these workarounds that aren't documented anywhere official is just wild. Bookmarking all these tips for future reference!

Just wanted to jump in as someone who's dealt with this exact same Money Network lockout issue before! Reading through this thread brought back so many frustrating memories. What really helped me was actually calling that special recovery line (1-888-929-2460) that Isabella mentioned - I wish I had known about it sooner! Also want to add that if you're still having trouble, try using your phone's mobile browser instead of the app completely. Sometimes the mobile browser version of prepaid.moneynetwork.com works when nothing else will. The whole system is definitely designed poorly, but this community has been a lifesaver for figuring out all the workarounds. Hope this helps someone else avoid the stress we've all been through!

Thanks for adding that tip about using mobile browser instead of the app! I'm pretty new to this whole unemployment system and honestly had no idea there were so many different ways to access the same account. It's kind of overwhelming how many workarounds everyone has had to figure out just to get to their own money. Really appreciate everyone sharing their experiences here - makes me feel less alone in dealing with these technical issues. Definitely going to try the mobile browser approach if I run into problems in the future!

This entire thread is exactly why I finally decided to create an account here! I've been dealing with Money Network issues on and off for months, and seeing how everyone came together to help Oliver troubleshoot his lockout problem is amazing. I had no idea about the special recovery line (1-888-929-2460) or that there were two different Money Network websites - that explains so much! I've been using the wrong site this whole time. It's honestly sad that we have to crowdsource solutions to access our own benefits because the official support is so terrible, but I'm grateful this community exists. Going to save all these tips and definitely bookmark this thread. Thanks to everyone who shared their knowledge!

Welcome to the community! This thread really shows how much we all have to rely on each other to figure out these systems. I'm also relatively new here and have been amazed at how much practical knowledge everyone shares. The fact that there are hidden phone numbers and different websites that aren't clearly explained anywhere official is just mind-blowing. I've learned more about navigating EDD and Money Network issues from this one thread than from hours of trying to get help through official channels. Really glad you decided to join - the more people we have sharing their experiences and solutions, the better we can all help each other through these frustrating situations!

Just wanted to add my experience as another newcomer who's been following this thread! I had a similar Money Network lockout last month and ended up going through customer service hell for almost a week. What finally worked for me was a combination of the tips shared here - using the prepaid.moneynetwork.com site (not the regular one) AND calling from a different phone number like Malik suggested. Apparently my original number got flagged in their system from too many failed attempts. It's incredible how this community has documented all these workarounds that should honestly be official troubleshooting steps. The fact that we have to become IT specialists just to access unemployment benefits is beyond frustrating, but at least we have each other's backs here. Definitely saving that special recovery number (1-888-929-2460) for future reference!
