Money Network login issues - site completely freezes after password entry
Has anyone else been locked out of their Money Network account? I've been trying to check my EDD unemployment balance since yesterday afternoon and the website seems broken. After I enter my password and hit submit, the page just hangs forever - no error message, no loading symbol, nothing. I've tried different browsers (Chrome and Firefox), cleared my cache, and even attempted on my phone with the same result. My next certification is due in 4 days and I need to make sure my payment from last week actually went through! Anyone experiencing similar issues or know if there's system maintenance happening?

•At least it's not just me then. So frustrating. Have you tried calling their customer service line yet?

Money Network is having widespread technical issues right now. Their system is upgrading to accommodate the new quarterly payment thresholds for 2025. According to their Twitter page (@MoneyNetworkCust), they're expecting to resolve it by tomorrow morning. If you absolutely need to check your balance, you can still call the automated line at 1-888-929-2460 and use your card number + PIN to get your balance information. For any urgent transactions, you can still use your physical card at ATMs or for purchases even while the website is down.

•Thank you! I didn't even think to check their Twitter. I'll try the automated phone line. Really appreciate the info!

This keeps happening every few months!! I'm so sick of Money Network. Last time they had an "upgrade" my account got locked for no reason and I had to verify my identity all over again. Took 2 weeks to get access back to MY OWN MONEY while bills were piling up. EDD needs to find a better partner for disbursements. Has anyone tried switching to direct deposit instead? Is that process complicated?

•I switched to direct deposit last quarter and it's been much more reliable. The setup process is pretty straightforward - just log into UI Online, go to Payment Preferences and select "Change Payment Method". You'll need your bank account and routing numbers. The first payment after switching took about 4-5 business days, but now they come through within 1-2 days of certification. Money Network was nothing but headaches for me.

had the same problem but my cousins bf works in IT and he said sometimes these sites have trouble with password managers or autofill try typing your password manually instead of letting it autofill worked for me

•I actually tried that already - typed it manually, even tried on incognito mode with no extensions. Still freezes right after password submission. Seems like a server-side issue based on what others are saying.

If you need to talk to an actual person at EDD about this or any other issue, I recently used a service called Claimyr to get through to EDD when I had payment problems. Their system connects you with an EDD representative without spending hours on hold. Saved me tons of time and frustration! You can check them out at claimyr.com - they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km

•Thanks for the suggestion. If this isn't resolved by tomorrow like they're saying, I might need to go this route. Did you find it was worth using?

•Definitely worth it for me. I was trying to reach EDD for three days with no luck before using it. Got connected to a rep in about 25 minutes after using their service. The rep was able to see exactly what was happening with my claim and fixed the issue right away.

I bet this is related to them fixing that glitch from last month where some people's balances were showing double the actual amount. My friend almost spent money that wasn't actually there! The customer service rep told her they were going to do a major system update to fix the display issues. Guess we're seeing that now...

Just to confirm what others have said - this is a scheduled maintenance according to Money Network's status page. Their upgrade window is supposed to end at 5AM Pacific Time tomorrow. I'd recommend setting up direct deposit through UI Online once this maintenance period is over. It's much more reliable than the Money Network system and gives you more control over your unemployment benefits. For anyone wondering about the direct deposit setup process, you'll need: 1. Your bank account number and routing number 2. To log into UI Online (not Money Network) 3. Navigate to 'Profile' then 'Payment Method' 4. Select 'Direct Deposit' and follow the prompts The change usually takes effect for your next payment cycle after setup.

•Thanks for the detailed instructions! I'm definitely going to switch to direct deposit once I can get back in. The Money Network card has been nothing but problems - this is the third outage this year.

UPDATE: It's working now for me! Just managed to log in about 10 minutes ago. Looks like they finished the maintenance early.

•You're right! Just checked and I was able to login too. Everything looks normal. My payment from last week is there. Thanks everyone for the help and suggestions!

Glad to hear it's working again! I was having the same freezing issue earlier today but didn't realize it was scheduled maintenance. For future reference, does anyone know if Money Network usually posts these maintenance windows somewhere obvious? I spent way too much time troubleshooting thinking it was a problem on my end. Definitely considering switching to direct deposit after reading all the positive experiences here - seems like it would save a lot of headaches!

•I had the same experience - wasted so much time thinking it was my browser or internet! From what I've seen, Money Network posts maintenance notices on their Twitter (@MoneyNetworkCust) and sometimes sends email alerts, but they're not always very prominent. I agree about direct deposit - after reading everyone's experiences here, I'm definitely making the switch. Seems like it eliminates all these third-party system issues entirely.

This is exactly why I made the switch to direct deposit six months ago! Money Network outages happen way too frequently and always seem to occur at the worst possible times - right before certifications are due or when you need to check if payments went through. The direct deposit setup through UI Online is super straightforward and I haven't had a single issue since switching. My payments now arrive consistently 1-2 days after certification instead of dealing with card loading delays and website crashes. Highly recommend making the change once this maintenance window ends!

•That's really encouraging to hear! I'm definitely convinced now - seems like everyone who switched to direct deposit has had a much better experience. The timing thing you mentioned is so true - these outages always happen at the most stressful times when you actually need to access your funds or check payment status. I'm going to make the switch first thing tomorrow morning. Thanks for sharing your experience!

I'm going through the exact same thing right now! Been trying to log in since this morning and it just sits there loading forever after I enter my password. Really glad I found this thread - I was starting to think my account got hacked or something. The timing couldn't be worse since I need to certify soon too. Thanks everyone for confirming it's a system-wide issue and not just me! Definitely going to look into switching to direct deposit after reading all these horror stories about Money Network outages.

•I totally understand the panic of thinking your account might be compromised! I went through the same thought process earlier today. It's such a relief when you find out it's just a system-wide maintenance issue and not something wrong with your specific account. Based on what others have shared here, the outage should be resolved now (some people mentioned they were able to get back in), so you might want to try logging in again. But yeah, after reading all these comments about direct deposit being so much more reliable, I'm definitely planning to make that switch too. No more worrying about whether the Money Network site is going to work when you need it most!

This happened to me too! I was getting so frustrated thinking it was my internet connection. I tried everything - restarting my router, using mobile data, even borrowed my neighbor's laptop thinking mine was the problem. It's such a relief to know it was just scheduled maintenance and not something wrong on my end. I actually didn't know about the automated phone line Maya mentioned - that's super helpful for future reference! After reading everyone's experiences here, I'm seriously considering switching to direct deposit. Seems like Money Network has these issues way too often and it's always stressful when you can't access your own money.
