EDD Money Network Card notifications - how to set them up?
I just got my EDD Money Network card yesterday after waiting FOREVER for it to arrive in the mail! Now I'm constantly checking my balance online because I'm never sure when my payment will actually hit the card. Someone at work mentioned there might be a way to get notifications when money gets deposited? I really don't want to keep logging in 5x a day to check! Does anyone know if there's a way to set up text alerts or something with the EDD card? The paperwork that came with it was confusing and I couldn't find anything about notifications. Thanks!

Yes! You can absolutely set up text and email notifications for your Money Network card. After you activate your card, go to the Money Network website and log into your account. Look for \

Thank you!! I'll try setting this up tonight. Do you remember if there's a delay between when EDD processes your payment and when it shows up on the card? My last certification has been \

California actually does offer direct deposit now! When you first file your claim, there's an option to choose direct deposit instead of the Money Network card. If you already have the card though, you can still switch to direct deposit by going to your UI Online account, selecting \

DONT BOTHER WITH THE NOTIFICATIONS!!! They NEVER work right!! I had them set up and half the time I wouldn't get notified until HOURS after the money was deposited, and sometimes I wouldn't get ANY notification at all!! Complete waste of time. Just check the website or call the number on the back of your card. The whole EDD system is a JOKE and they can't even get simple text messages to work correctly. I've been dealing with these people for MONTHS and nothing ever works right the first time!!!!

I think your experience might be the exception rather than the rule. I've had the text notifications set up for the last 8 weeks of my claim and they've been reliable for me. Every Tuesday morning like clockwork, I get a text when my payment hits. Maybe there was an issue with your phone carrier or something? Worth trying at least - it's free to set up.

I had the same issue with the Money Network website last month!! Try clearing your browser cookies or using a different browser. For some reason it wouldn't work on Chrome for me but worked fine on Firefox. Also make sure you're going to the correct website which is moneynetwork.com (I think I was trying bankofamerica.com at first which was wrong).

Since others have already explained how to set up the notifications, I'll add that there's typically a 24-48 hour delay between when your payment shows as \

Thank you for the timing info! That's super helpful to know there's a normal delay. I'll set up those notifications tonight. \n\nAnd I might check out that Claimyr service if I have any more issues. I spent 3 hours yesterday just trying to get through on the phone with no luck. So frustrating!

Something else worth mentioning - you can also transfer money from your Money Network card to your personal bank account through their website. I find this easier than using the card directly, and then I can use my regular banking app to manage everything. Just go to \

This is what I do too!! So much easier than using their card. I just transfer everything as soon as it hits the card. The transfers usually take about 1-2 business days to show up in my regular bank account though, so keep that in mind.

Oh that's a great idea! I'll definitely try that too. Thanks for the tip about the 1-2 day transfer time!

I just want to confirm what others have said - the notification system does work well! I have mine set up for both text and email. The text comes through almost instantly when a deposit hits. The process to set it up is:\n\n1. Go to moneynetwork.com\n2. Log in with your card info\n3. Click on \

Thank you for the step-by-step! That makes it super clear. I'm going to set mine up for both text and email too.

I've been using the Money Network card for about 6 months now and wanted to share a few tips that might help! First, definitely set up those notifications - they're a lifesaver. But also download the Money Network mobile app if you haven't already. It's way easier to check your balance quickly on your phone than logging into the website every time. The app also sends push notifications which I find more reliable than SMS sometimes. One thing to watch out for - there are ATM fees if you use machines outside their network, so look for MoneyPass ATMs to avoid those charges. You can find locations on their website. Hope this helps!

•Thanks for mentioning the MoneyPass ATMs! I had no idea about that and have definitely been getting hit with fees. Do you know if there's a way to find MoneyPass locations through the mobile app itself, or do you have to go to the website? Also, have you noticed any differences between the push notifications from the app versus the SMS alerts? Wondering if I should set up both or just stick with one.
