Money Network account showing zero balance and missing transaction history - anyone else?

I'm freaking out a little bit. I just logged into my Money Network account to check my latest EDD payment that was supposedly issued yesterday, but when I got in, everything looks completely empty! It's showing $0.00 balance, all my transaction history is gone, and even my personal information is missing. I've received two previous payments (about $1,250 each) with no problems at all and had successfully transferred them to my regular bank account. Has the system just glitched out? Is anyone else experiencing this? I'm worried my account got hacked or something went seriously wrong with EDD's payment system.

Oh thank god it's not just me! Did you call them yet or are you waiting to see if it resolves itself?

This is a known system issue with Money Network today. I called their customer service line (number on back of card) and they confirmed they're having technical difficulties with their online portal. The representative assured me all account data and funds are safe - it's just a display issue in their system. They said it should be resolved within 24-48 hours, but your actual funds are secure. I'd recommend calling to confirm your specific account status if you're worried.

Thanks so much for this info! That's a huge relief. Did they mention if we need to do anything on our end once the system is back up?

They didn't mention needing to do anything special once it's fixed. The rep said everything should just appear normally again once they resolve the technical issue. They recommended checking back tomorrow afternoon.

I swear the EDD systems are ALWAYS having issues!!! First UI Online crashes every weekend, then ID.me glitches out during verification, and now Money Network can't even display our funds correctly?? How hard is it to run a functional payment system??? My rent is due next week and I can't even see if my money is there. This is ridiculous!

Completly agree with u... its like they dont care about how stressful this is for ppl who need there money NOW not whenever there systems decide to work right!! my landlords not gonna accept "sorry the website is broken" as an excuse for late rent!!

Hey there, I had something similar happen last month during what turned out to be planned maintenance on their system. The Money Network app was more reliable than the website during that time - have you tried using their mobile app instead? Sometimes one works when the other doesn't. If you're really concerned and want to speak directly with an EDD rep about your payment status, I used Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get through last time I had payment issues. They got me connected to an actual EDD agent in about 25 minutes when I'd been trying for days on my own. There's a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km Hope this helps!

Thanks for the suggestion about the app! I just tried it and you're right - it's actually showing my balance and transaction history correctly. Weird that the website is completely blank but the app works fine. I'll definitely keep that Claimyr service in mind if this happens again with a future payment.

This happened to me back in January, but it was because my account had a fraud alert placed on it. Turned out someone had attempted to access it from another state. Try calling Money Network directly at 1-888-number on the back of your card. They can tell you if there's a security hold.

Oh no, that's concerning. Did you lose any money when that happened to you? I just checked the app based on another comment here and my balance is showing correctly there, so hopefully it's just the website having issues rather than fraud.

No, I didn't lose any money! They just froze the account as a precaution. But if your app is working fine then it's probably just their website maintenance or something. They really should send notifications when this kind of stuff happens instead of giving everyone a heart attack lol

This is a perfect example of why I always immediately transfer my EDD funds to my regular bank account as soon as they hit Money Network. Their system is so unreliable. I set up notifications so I know exactly when the money arrives, then transfer it out within the hour. Never leave your funds sitting in that account longer than necessary! For those experiencing this issue, Money Network is actually run by a company called Fiserv, not directly by EDD. That's why checking your UI Online account (as someone mentioned above) is a good idea - it will show if EDD actually issued the payment even if Money Network isn't displaying it correctly.

i tried the transfer thing but it took 3 days to show up n my credit union account even tho they said it wud be "instant" so now i just go to the atm right away and take out cash

That's really smart advice. I've been leaving money in there for a few days before transferring, but I'll definitely start moving it immediately from now on. The stress of seeing an empty account isn't worth it!

Wait i'm confused - is Money Network different from the regular EDD debit card? I just got approved last week and they said something about a card coming in the mail but i thought that was from Bank of America? Does everyone get Money Network now?

EDD switched from Bank of America to Money Network for their debit cards in 2023. If you filed recently, you'll get a Money Network card. The old BofA cards aren't issued anymore. You can also set up direct deposit to your personal bank account through UI Online if you prefer that to the card.

UPDATE: Just want to let everyone know that my Money Network website is working normally again this morning. All my transaction history and balance is showing correctly now. Looks like it was just a temporary glitch like some of you suggested. Thanks to everyone who helped calm me down yesterday!

Glad to see this got resolved! For future reference, you can also check your payment status directly on UI Online even when Money Network is having issues. Go to History > Payment Activity and it will show if EDD has actually issued the payment, regardless of what's happening with the card system. This saved me a lot of panic during a similar outage a few months ago. It's also worth bookmarking Money Network's system status page if they have one - some financial services post maintenance schedules there.

That's really helpful advice about checking UI Online! I had no idea you could verify payment status there independently of the card system. I'm definitely going to bookmark that Payment Activity section for future reference. Do you know if there's a way to get notified when EDD issues a payment, or do you just have to check manually?

I just wanted to share my experience from when this happened to me a few weeks ago. The Money Network website went completely blank for about 36 hours - zero balance, no transaction history, nothing. I was terrified my account had been compromised or EDD had somehow reversed my payments. What I learned from calling both Money Network AND EDD directly is that these two systems don't always sync properly during maintenance windows. EDD's payment system is separate from Money Network's display system, so even if you can't see your funds, they're usually still there. Pro tip: If this happens again, you can actually use any ATM with your card to check your balance for free - even during website outages, the card itself still works normally. I was able to withdraw my usual amount even when the website showed $0. Sometimes the old-school methods work better than the fancy apps! Hope this helps anyone who runs into this issue in the future. These payment systems really need better communication about planned maintenance!

This is such valuable info, thanks for sharing! The ATM tip is genius - I never would have thought to try that when the website is down. It's crazy that EDD and Money Network systems don't sync properly during maintenance. You'd think they would have figured that out by now given how many people depend on these payments. I'm definitely going to remember the ATM trick if this happens again!

This whole thread is so reassuring! I'm a new claimant and got my first EDD payment last week. When I woke up this morning and saw my Money Network showing zero balance, I literally thought I was going to have a panic attack. I had no idea these kinds of system glitches were somewhat common. Reading everyone's experiences and solutions here has been incredibly helpful. I tried the mobile app like someone suggested and sure enough, everything shows up correctly there. I also called the customer service number and they confirmed it's just a website display issue. Thank you all for sharing your knowledge - this community is a lifesaver for navigating all these confusing EDD systems! I'll definitely be transferring my funds immediately from now on and bookmarking that UI Online Payment Activity section.

Welcome to the community! I totally understand that panic feeling - I've been through it myself multiple times with various EDD system issues. It's really frustrating that they don't give any heads up when these maintenance problems happen. You're definitely in good hands here though, everyone is super helpful with sharing their experiences and workarounds. The mobile app trick has saved me so many headaches, and yeah definitely get in the habit of moving your money out right away. These systems are just too unreliable to trust with keeping funds sitting there. Glad you got it sorted out!
