Money Network Card activation app won't complete - stuck in verification loop

I finally received my EDD Money Network card yesterday after waiting nearly 3 weeks since my first certification was paid. The relief was short-lived though because I can't activate the darn thing! I downloaded the Money Network app and got through most of the verification process - entered all my info, took photos of my ID, the whole thing. But at the final step, it just hangs with a spinning circle. When I try calling the number on the back of the card, the automated system says my card is already 'in the verification process' and disconnects me. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the app three times and tried on both WiFi and cellular data. My bills are piling up and I can't access the $2,670 that's supposedly on this card. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Any suggestions for how to get this resolved without waiting another 3 weeks?

The EXACT same thing happened to me last month! The Money Network app is garbage. Try this instead - call 1-866-320-8699 and when the system asks for your card number, just press # a bunch of times. It'll think you're entering an invalid card and will transfer you to a live person. Tell them you need manual activation because the app is broken. They did it for me in about 5 minutes once I got through.

Thank you!!! I'll try that right now. Did they give you any trouble about bypassing the app verification?

money network is THE WORST. i got my card in january and it took me 4 days to activate it. kept getting error messages. eventually i just kept trying the app at different times of day and it randomly worked at like 3am when i couldnt sleep. no explanation why. good luck!

This isn't helpful advice. The app has known server-side issues that randomly timing your attempts won't fix. The OP needs to contact Money Network directly to have the card manually activated and possibly reset the verification status in their system.

I had similar issues with the Money Network app when I got my EDD card. After trying everything with the app, I found that using Claimyr (claimyr.com) was the best way to actually get someone on the phone who could help. They have a service that connects you directly to an EDD agent who can override the activation issue. Saved me hours of frustration. Check out their demo: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km

Thanks for the suggestion. I thought Claimyr was just for getting through to regular EDD. Didn't realize they could help with Money Network card issues too. I'll check out that video.

Have u tried using a different phone?? My daughter couldn't get it to work on her android but it worked fine on my iphone!!

I'm using an iPhone 13 so I don't think that's the issue, but maybe I can try on my husband's phone. Worth a shot at this point!

This is a common issue with the Money Network verification system. What's happening is your verification attempt is stuck in a pending state in their system, which is why both the app and phone system are rejecting new attempts. You need to: 1. Call Money Network at 1-866-320-8699 2. When prompted for your card number, press 0 repeatedly until it transfers you to a representative 3. Explain that your card activation is stuck in verification limbo 4. Ask them to reset the verification status in their system 5. They'll likely ask you for your SSN and DOB to verify your identity 6. Once they reset it, you should be able to activate via phone immediately If you still can't get through, you can also try visiting any Bank of America branch in person - they can sometimes help with Money Network cards issued for EDD benefits.

THANK YOU!! This worked! I had to wait on hold for about 25 minutes, but the rep was able to reset my verification status and then helped me activate the card while on the phone. I can now see my balance and set up direct deposit to my bank account. Such a relief!

I'm having the EXACT same problem right now!!! Been trying for 2 days to activate this stupid card and my rent is due TOMORROW. Did anyone find a solution that actually works? I'm seriously about to drive to the EDD office because all of this online/app garbage never seems to work right. So frustrating!!!

The EDD office won't be able to help with Money Network card issues as they're handled by a separate contractor. Follow the steps I outlined above - call the Money Network number and have them reset the verification status. It's the most reliable solution.

The Money Network app is completely broken right now. I was talking to my cousin who works in IT and he said they're having database issues that are affecting account creation. Not your fault at all. I'd recommend just keep calling their customer service number until you get a human. That's what worked for me after my account got stuck in the same loop.

OMG thank you for confirming it's not just me being stupid with technology! I've been feeling like I'm doing something wrong this whole time.

Just to update everyone - I got through to Money Network this morning after trying the # trick. The rep told me they're experiencing major activation issues with the app right now due to a system upgrade that went wrong. They're prioritizing people who call in for manual activation. The wait time was about 40 minutes but they got it fixed quickly once I got through.

0 coins

That matches what they told me too. The rep mentioned they've been dealing with this issue for about a week now and are working on a fix. For anyone else having this problem, definitely call rather than relying on the app!

This is so helpful to read! I'm dealing with the exact same issue right now - got my card three days ago and have been stuck in that verification loop hell. Reading through all these responses, it sounds like calling Money Network directly is definitely the way to go rather than fighting with the broken app. Going to try the # trick to get to a human and have them manually reset my verification. It's reassuring to know this is a widespread system issue and not something I'm doing wrong. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences and solutions!

I just went through this nightmare last week! The Money Network app verification loop is a known issue that's been plaguing people for months. Here's what finally worked for me after 4 days of frustration: Call 1-866-320-8699 and when it asks for your card number, just keep pressing 0 until it transfers you to a human (took about 8 tries). Tell them your card is stuck in verification limbo and needs to be manually reset. The rep I spoke with said they're seeing this issue constantly and can fix it in under 5 minutes once they reset your verification status on their end. Pro tip: Call early in the morning (around 8 AM) - the wait times are much shorter then. Once they reset it, you can activate over the phone immediately without needing the app at all. Don't waste time with the app anymore - it's completely broken right now due to their recent system updates. Hang in there, you'll get access to your money soon! The phone route is 100% more reliable than that garbage app.

This is exactly what I needed to hear! I've been banging my head against the wall with this app for two days now. The 8 AM tip is gold - I was calling in the afternoon when everyone else is probably trying too. Going to set my alarm and call first thing tomorrow morning. It's so frustrating that they haven't fixed this verification loop issue yet, but at least there's a reliable workaround. Thanks for the detailed step-by-step!

This exact same thing happened to me about 6 weeks ago! The Money Network app verification loop is absolutely infuriating. I tried everything - different devices, clearing cache, uninstalling/reinstalling multiple times - nothing worked. What finally solved it was calling their customer service line at 1-866-320-8699 and pressing 0 repeatedly when it asked for my card number. It took about 15 minutes to get through to a human, but once I explained the situation, they were able to manually reset my verification status and activate the card right over the phone. The whole process took maybe 10 minutes once I got a rep. Don't waste any more time with that broken app - just call them directly. The phone reps are used to dealing with this issue and can fix it immediately. Good luck!

Thanks for sharing your experience! It's really frustrating that this seems to be such a widespread issue with the Money Network app. I'm actually dealing with this exact same verification loop problem right now - got my card yesterday and have been stuck trying to activate it ever since. Reading through everyone's responses here, it's clear that calling and getting them to manually reset the verification is the way to go. I'm going to try the pressing 0 trick tomorrow morning. It's ridiculous that we have to jump through all these hoops just to access our own benefits, but at least there's a solution that works. Appreciate you taking the time to explain the whole process step by step!

I'm going through this exact same nightmare right now! Got my EDD card two days ago and I've been stuck in that verification loop ever since. It's such a relief to read that this is a known system issue and not something I'm doing wrong. Based on everyone's advice here, I'm definitely going to skip the broken app entirely and call Money Network directly tomorrow morning. The step-by-step instructions from @Aisha Abdullah and @Amaya Watson are super helpful - I'll try pressing 0 repeatedly to get to a human and have them manually reset my verification status. It's absolutely ridiculous that we have to deal with these technical failures when we're already stressed about finances, but at least there's a reliable workaround. Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences and solutions - this community is a lifesaver!

You're absolutely right that this community is a lifesaver! I just went through this same verification loop nightmare last month and it's so frustrating when you desperately need access to your benefits. The good news is that calling really does work - I used the pressing 0 trick and got through to a rep who fixed it in about 5 minutes once they reset my verification status. One thing I'd add is to have your Social Security number and date of birth ready when you call, as they'll need to verify your identity before they can reset anything. Also, don't get discouraged if the first rep you talk to seems confused about the issue - I had to explain that my card was "stuck in verification limbo" before they understood what needed to be done. Once they get it, though, they can activate your card immediately over the phone. Hang in there - you'll have access to your money soon!

I'm dealing with this EXACT same issue right now! Just got my EDD card yesterday and have been stuck in that verification loop for hours. It's so reassuring to see that this is a widespread problem and not just me being tech-challenged. Reading through all these responses, it's clear that the Money Network app is completely broken right now due to their system issues. I'm definitely going to try calling 1-866-320-8699 tomorrow morning and use the pressing 0 trick to get to a human rep who can manually reset my verification status. It's frustrating that we have to jump through all these hoops when we're already stressed about finances, but at least there's a proven solution that works. Thanks to everyone who shared their step-by-step experiences - this community really comes through when the official systems fail us!

I'm in the exact same boat! Just got my card today and immediately ran into this verification loop nightmare. It's honestly such a relief to find this thread and realize it's not just me struggling with this broken system. I've been trying the app for the past 3 hours and getting nowhere. Based on everyone's advice here, I'm definitely going to call first thing tomorrow morning and try the pressing 0 trick to bypass the automated system. It's absolutely insane that Money Network hasn't fixed this widespread issue yet, especially when people are depending on these funds for basic necessities. Thank you to everyone who shared their solutions - this community support means everything when you're dealing with these frustrating technical failures!

I'm going through this nightmare too! Got my EDD card 4 days ago and have been completely stuck in that verification loop. I've tried everything - different phones, wifi vs cellular, clearing cache, uninstalling and reinstalling the app multiple times. Nothing works! Reading through everyone's experiences here is both frustrating and reassuring - frustrating that this is such a widespread issue that Money Network apparently can't be bothered to fix, but reassuring that I'm not alone in this mess. Based on all the advice here, I'm definitely calling 1-866-320-8699 first thing tomorrow morning and trying the pressing 0 trick to get to a human who can manually reset my verification. It's ridiculous that we have to work around their broken system when we're already stressed about accessing our benefits, but at least there's a solution that actually works. Thanks to everyone for sharing your step-by-step experiences - this community is seriously more helpful than any official customer service!

I feel your pain! I went through this exact same verification loop disaster about 3 weeks ago. It's absolutely maddening when you desperately need access to your benefits and their system just keeps failing. The good news is that calling really does work - I used the pressing 0 trick that everyone's mentioned here and got through to a rep after about 20 minutes on hold. Make sure you call right when they open (8 AM) as the wait times are much shorter then. The rep was super understanding about the verification loop issue and fixed it in literally 2 minutes once they reset my status in their system. Don't waste any more time with that broken app - the phone route is 100% the way to go. You'll have your money accessible by tomorrow if you call first thing in the morning!

I'm dealing with this exact same verification loop issue right now! Just received my EDD Money Network card this morning and have been trying to activate it for the past 4 hours with no luck. The app keeps getting stuck at that final verification step with the endless spinning circle, and when I call the number on the back, it just says my card is "in verification process" and hangs up on me. Reading through everyone's experiences here is incredibly helpful - it's clear this is a widespread system problem with Money Network's verification process, not something we're doing wrong. Based on all the detailed advice from @Aisha Abdullah, @Amaya Watson, and others, I'm definitely going to try calling 1-866-320-8699 tomorrow morning at 8 AM sharp and use the pressing 0 trick to get to a human rep who can manually reset my verification status. It's absolutely ridiculous that we have to work around their broken system when we're already stressed about accessing our benefits, but I'm grateful this community has figured out a reliable solution. Will update once I get through to them!

I'm going through the EXACT same thing right now! Just got my card yesterday and I've been pulling my hair out trying to get it activated. That spinning circle at the end is like torture when you know your bills are due. Reading through this whole thread has been such a relief - I honestly thought I was doing something wrong or my phone was broken or something. It's crazy that Money Network has such a widespread verification system failure and they just... haven't fixed it? Anyway, I'm definitely going to try the 8 AM call strategy tomorrow with the pressing 0 trick. Thanks to everyone who shared their step-by-step solutions - you're all lifesavers! Will report back on how it goes.

I'm going through this EXACT same nightmare right now! Just got my EDD card yesterday and I've been stuck in that verification loop for over 6 hours. The app gets to that final step with the spinning circle and just sits there forever. When I try calling the number on the back of the card, it says my verification is "in process" and immediately hangs up. I was starting to think I was doing something wrong or my phone was broken, but reading through all these responses is such a relief - clearly this is a massive system failure on Money Network's end that they just haven't bothered to fix. Based on everyone's detailed advice here, especially from @Aisha Abdullah and @Amaya Watson, I'm definitely going to call 1-866-320-8699 first thing tomorrow morning at 8 AM and try the pressing 0 trick to get to a human who can manually reset my verification status. I'm dealing with this EXACT same verification loop issue right now! Just got my EDD Money Network card this afternoon and I've been trying to activate it for the past 2 hours with absolutely no success. That spinning circle at the final verification step is driving me insane, and like everyone else, when I call the number on the back it just says "verification in process" and hangs up immediately. I'm literally going through this exact same thing right now! Got my card yesterday and have been stuck in that verification loop hell ever since. That spinning circle of doom is the worst - you sit there watching it for 20+ minutes thinking maybe it's just slow, but nope, it's completely broken. Reading through everyone's experiences here has been such a lifesaver though. I was starting to panic thinking I'd somehow messed up my only chance to activate the card. The fact that this is such a widespread Money Network system issue and they STILL haven't fixed it is absolutely infuriating. Like, how hard is it to fix a verification system when people depend on these benefits for rent and groceries? Anyway, I'm definitely trying that 8 AM call strategy tomorrow with the pressing 0 trick. Thanks for sharing your story - it really helps to know we're all in this together fighting against their broken technology!
