EDD sent wrong amount ($405 instead of $450) - Transposition error?
Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with my unemployment check. It's supposed to be $450 for each week, but they sent me $405 instead. I think it's a transposition error. I haven't worked for the last two weeks, so it should definitely be the full amount. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on how to get this fixed quickly?

Ugh, that sucks! I've had similar issues before. Have you tried calling EDD? Be prepared to wait on hold for hours tho 🙄

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 mins last time!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•I was skeptical at first too, but it really worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

•How long did it take for them to get through?

•It took about 2 hours, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. They just called me when an agent was on the line.

This happened to me last month! It's definitely a glitch in their system. Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Take screenshots of your claim history and any correspondence. 2. Call EDD (I know, it's a pain) and explain the situation. Be polite but firm. 3. If they can't help over the phone, ask to speak with a tier 2 specialist. 4. If all else fails, contact your local assembly member's office. They can often expedite EDD issues. Good luck! The system is a mess, but don't give up. You'll get your money eventually.

•This is solid advice. I'd add: keep a log of all your calls and who you spoke with. It helps if you need to escalate later.

Classic EDD 🤡 They never cease to amaze me with their incompetence. Good luck getting this sorted out, OP!

Have you considered that maybe there's a new deduction or tax withholding? $45 difference could be some kind of percentage taken out. Double-check your withholding settings on your EDD account.

•That's a good point, I'll check that out. But I'm pretty sure I didn't change anything recently.

idk if this helps, but I had a similar issue last year. Turned out it was because of some weird quarterly wage review thing. Might be worth asking about that when you finally get through to someone.
