EDD payment delay - Money Network deposit not showing up this morning

Has anyone else not received their EDD payment deposit today? I usually see my unemployment funds hit my Money Network account by 6am every other Tuesday, but it's already 11:30am and nothing's there. I certified Sunday night and everything went through fine - status shows paid in UI Online but my card balance hasn't updated. Just wondering if it's a system-wide delay or if I should be worried. My rent is due Friday and I'm starting to panic a little!

I'm having the exact same issue! Certified Sunday, shows paid in the system, but no money on my Money Network card. This is my 4th certification and it's never been this late before. Called EDD but got the dreaded "we're experiencing high call volume" message. Ugh.

Glad it's not just me! Have you tried checking your payment activity history on UI Online? Mine shows the payment was issued this morning, but it's still not on my card.

This happened last month too. EDD sometimes has processing delays with the Money Network transfers. As long as your UI Online account shows 'paid' status, the money will eventually show up. Usually by end of day, but occasionally it takes until tomorrow morning. I wouldn't worry unless it's still missing after 24 hours.

That's reassuring, thanks! Do you know if there's any way to set up direct deposit instead of using the Money Network card? The card system seems so unreliable.

Yes, you can switch to direct deposit! Log into your UI Online account, go to 'Profile', then 'Payment Preference' and select 'Direct Deposit'. You'll need your bank account and routing numbers. The change takes 1-2 payment cycles to take effect.

Thanks for sharing - at least we're all in the same boat! Hopefully it's just a system delay that clears up soon.

The EDD system is such a joke. I had the same problem back in March and when I finally reached someone (after TWO DAYS of calling), they claimed it was a "technical issue" affecting several claimants. No apology, no explanation, just "it'll be fixed soon." The money showed up eventually but I had already incurred a late fee on my car payment. They don't care AT ALL about how these delays impact real people with real bills to pay.

That's what I'm worried about! Did you ever get compensated for the late fee? I can't afford any extra charges right now.

LOL of course not. EDD doesn't care about late fees or overdrafts caused by their mistakes. I submitted a complaint form but never heard back. Just another way they screw over the unemployed!

Just checked my account and my payment actually arrived about 20 minutes ago! So they're definitely processing them, just running behind today. Maybe check yours again?

Still nothing on mine, but that's good to know they're starting to come through! I'll keep checking throughout the day. Thanks for the update!

I had this happen once before and it drove me nuts trying to get through to EDD. Ended up using this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that got me connected to an actual EDD rep within like 20 minutes instead of calling for days. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km. The rep explained there was some processing delay on their end but confirmed my payment was coming.

Never heard of that before. Is it legit? Seems sketchy to use a third party service when dealing with unemployment stuff.

I was hesitant too, but it worked for me. They just help you bypass the phone queue. You still talk directly to an actual EDD representative. Beats calling 50+ times a day and never getting through!

Just to clarify something important - if UI Online shows your claim as "paid" rather than "pending," that's a good sign. The transfer delay is between EDD's payment system and Money Network's processing, not an issue with your claim itself. I worked in financial processing (not for EDD) and these inter-system transfers sometimes hit delays. I'd recommend: 1. Don't panic if UI Online shows "paid" 2. Check your Money Network account regularly today 3. If nothing by tomorrow morning, then try contacting EDD 4. Use the 'Contact Us' feature in UI Online as a backup if phone lines are jammed This is almost certainly a system delay affecting multiple claimants rather than an individual claim issue.

Thank you for the detailed explanation! That makes me feel better. Mine does show "paid" in UI Online, so I'll wait until tomorrow before I start calling them.

Confirmed - got mine too! About 3 hours later than usual but at least it's there. Thanks to everyone who shared info. This forum is seriously a lifesaver sometimes!

Glad it worked out for everyone! For future reference, these system delays typically resolve within the same business day. The EDD processing system runs multiple batches throughout the day, so even if you miss the morning batch, you'll often be included in a later one.
