EDD OTHER PAY letter - need advice on clearing up employer payments

Hey everyone, I just got a letter in the mail about OTHER PAY and dates covered by my employer. I need to call and discuss this with them to make sure I'm getting the correct payment from the state. Has anyone else dealt with this? I'm trying to clear up the payments from my employer to ensure everything is accurate. Any advice on what I should ask or how to approach this conversation?

I found a way to solve OTHER PAY unemployment benefit issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UI5frph2zHY

Ugh, I've been there. It's such a headache trying to get everything straightened out. Make sure you have all your pay stubs and any communication from your employer handy when you call. They'll probably ask for specific dates and amounts.

This šŸ‘† Having your docs ready saves so much time. I learned that the hard way lol

Thanks for the tips! I'll definitely gather everything before I call. Any idea how long the wait times usually are?

I found a way to get someone on the phone without waiting forever. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

idk man, paying to get through seems sketchy. is that even legal?

I get the skepticism, but it's legit. Saved me hours of frustration. They're just automating the hold process, not doing anything shady.

Can confirm, I used it last week. Pricey but worth it if ur desperate

Make sure to ask about any potential overpayments. Sometimes the "OTHER PAY" thing is about money they think you owe back. Don't let them bully you if you disagree - ask for a breakdown of how they calculated everything.

The whole system is so broken 🤮 Why do we have to jump through hoops just to get what we're owed? It's like they're trying to make it as difficult as possible.

Preach! šŸ™Œ I swear they hope people will just give up and not claim what they're entitled to.

Here's what you need to know about OTHER PAY and how it affects your benefits: • OTHER PAY can include severance, vacation pay, or any other special compensation from your employer • It can reduce your benefit amount for the week it's reported • Make sure the dates they have for the OTHER PAY are correct • Ask for a detailed breakdown of how it was calculated • If you disagree with their assessment, you have the right to appeal • Keep all documentation related to your last paycheck and any additional compensation • Sometimes employers report this incorrectly, so don't be afraid to challenge it if something seems off Remember, the state wants to ensure you're not double-dipping, but they also want you to get the correct amount you're owed. Be polite but firm, and don't be afraid to ask questions if anything is unclear.

Saving this for later. Wish they'd just explain it this clearly in the first place šŸ™„

Anyone else feel like they need a law degree just to understand all this stuff? šŸ¤” I swear, every time I think I've got it figured out, they throw some new term or rule at us.

For real! I'm convinced they make it confusing on purpose 🤔

Pro tip: Record the call if you can (check your state laws first). It's saved my butt more than once when they've given me conflicting info.

I've been dealing with this OTHER PAY nonsense for months now. Turns out my employer reported my final paycheck wrong and it's been a nightmare to fix. Don't give up, OP!

It took about 3 months of back and forth. Stay on top of it and keep calling!

Has anyone tried reaching out to their state rep about these issues? I've heard sometimes they can help cut through the red tape.
