EDD Identity Verification Stuck in Spanish - Need Help Switching to English!

Hey everyone, I'm trying to verify my identity for unemployment benefits and I'm having trouble with the language options. Does anyone know how to change the language settings? I really need it to be in English, not Spanish. Any help would be appreciated!

I found a way to solve unemployment language setting issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKuPS24Pmso

Ugh, I feel your pain! The language settings can be such a headache. Have you tried clicking on the little globe icon in the top right corner? That usually lets you switch languages.

Thanks for the tip! I'll give that a try. It's just so frustrating when you're already stressed about benefits and then you can't even understand the instructions 😫

The globe icon trick doesn't always work tho. Sometimes the system glitches and you get stuck in the wrong language. Classic government efficiency 🙄

I had the same issue last month! What worked for me was logging out completely, clearing my browser cache, and then logging back in. For some reason, that reset the language to English.

Oh wow, I wouldn't have thought of that. I'll definitely try it out. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Have you tried calling their helpline? I know it's a pain to get through, but sometimes talking to a real person is the only way to fix these weird tech issues.

I've been trying to call all morning but keep getting a busy signal. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. This might sound crazy, but have you tried using Google Translate while navigating the Spanish version? It's not perfect, but it might help you get through the process until you can fix the language setting.

OMG, the unemployment system is such a joke. First they make it impossible to file a claim, now they can't even get the language right? 🤡 Our tax dollars at work, folks!

Preach! 👏 I swear they make it difficult on purpose to discourage people from claiming benefits.

C'mon guys, let's not be too harsh. The system is overloaded right now. I'm sure they're doing their best.

Here's a comprehensive guide to troubleshooting language issues on the unemployment portal: 1. Clear your browser cache and cookies 2. Try a different browser (Chrome tends to work best) 3. Use incognito/private browsing mode 4. Check your account settings for a language preference option 5. If using a mobile device, try on a desktop computer instead 6. Look for a language toggle on the login page (sometimes it's hidden in a dropdown menu) 7. If all else fails, contact support via email and specifically request a language change on your account Hope this helps! Let us know what ends up working for you.

This should be pinned at the top of the subreddit. So helpful!

Am I the only one who thinks its ridiculous that we even have to deal with this? In 2023, you'd think they'd have a better system in place. SMH

You're preaching to the choir, my friend. The whole system needs an overhaul.
