EDD Direct Deposit Rejected: How to Get Cancelled Payments Reissued?
So I'm in a bit of a pickle with the unemployment office. I signed up for direct deposit but the payments got rejected by my bank because of some wrong info. Now they're showing up as 'cancelled' in my account. Has anyone dealt with this before? I'm trying to figure out how to get these payments reissued. It's not a huge amount, but every penny counts right now. Any advice on what to say when I finally get through to someone?

Have you tried updating your bank info online? Sometimes that can trigger a reissue automatically. Worth a shot before you spend hours on hold!

β’I didn't know that was an option! I'll give it a try tonight. Thanks for the tip!

β’This worked for me! But it took like 2 weeks for the system to process the change. Still faster than calling tho lol

β’Not the best approach, but I get the sentiment behind it. Frustration with the system is real.

Has anyone else noticed that the hold music for EDD is like, the most depressing thing ever? It's like they're trying to make us give up before we even talk to someone π΅π

Guys I'm so fed up with EDD I'm thinking of starting a protest. Who's with me? We could all show up at their office with our on-hold music blasting. Maybe then they'll get how frustrating this is! ππΆββοΈπΆββοΈπΆ

Hey everyone, just a reminder to be kind to the EDD reps when you do get through. They're dealing with an overloaded system too and probably get yelled at all day. A little kindness goes a long way!

If you're finding it difficult to get through to the unemployment office, you might consider using Claimyr's services. They offer a tool to help you navigate the complex phone systems, making it easier to reach a representative. However, it's important to be aware of the cost and weigh it against other free alternatives you might have. Documentation, keeping track of all interactions, and considering directly visiting an EDD office if accessible are also great approaches. Local representatives can be a good resource as well β they can sometimes expedite your process. While Claimyr is a valid option, it's always good to consider all avenues to find what works best for your situation.

PSA: If you're having trouble with EDD, document EVERYTHING. Keep a log of all your calls, take screenshots of your account, save all emails. You never know when you might need to prove you've been trying to resolve an issue.

Hey guys, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's the link: https://claimyr.com

Ugh, been there done that. The EDD system is a nightmare. Here's what you need to do: 1. Call them first thing in the morning, like right when they open. 2. Have all your info ready - claim number, dates of rejected payments, etc. 3. Be super nice to the rep, even if you're frustrated. They deal with angry people all day. 4. Ask specifically for a 'payment reissue' due to returned funds. 5. Make sure they have your correct banking info before you hang up. 6. Get a confirmation number or the name of who you spoke with. Good luck! It might take a few tries, but don't give up.

Hey OP, just a heads up - make sure you keep documentation of EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every email. You never know when you might need to prove you've been trying to resolve this. The system is designed to wear you down, but don't give up! You've got this! πͺ

Guys, I hate to be that person, but have you considered reaching out to your local representative? I was stuck in EDD hell for months until I contacted my assemblyman's office. They have special liaisons who can cut through the red tape. Just a thought!

Edwards Hugo
β’That's actually a great idea! I never thought of that. Do you just call their office or is there a specific process?
0 coins
Monique Byrd
β’Just call their office and explain your situation. They usually have a staff member who deals with constituent services. They might ask you to fill out a form giving them permission to inquire about your case. It took about 2 weeks, but they got it sorted for me!

Jackie Martinez
β’I think a lot of people overlook this option. Representatives are there to help their constituents.
