EDD Continuing Eligibility Questionnaire (DE 2593) delay - anyone else waiting?
Hey everyone, I'm getting really concerned about my DE 2593 form (Continuing Eligibility Questionnaire). I submitted mine over 3 weeks ago and haven't heard anything back. I checked my UI Online account and there's no update or acknowledgment they even received it. My payments are still coming through for now, but I'm worried they'll suddenly stop if this questionnaire isn't processed. Is anyone else experiencing delays with the DE 2593 processing? In previous years they'd confirm receipt within 5-7 days max. Is EDD running behind on these forms in 2025, or should I be worried something's wrong with my claim?

You're definitely not alone. EDD is experiencing significant delays processing the DE 2593 forms right now. I submitted mine almost 5 weeks ago and only got confirmation yesterday that it was received and processed. According to the EDD representative I spoke with, they're dealing with a backlog due to staffing shortages and a new processing system they implemented in March. As long as you submitted your form before the deadline they gave you, your benefits should continue without interruption while they process it.

•That's a relief to hear it's not just me! Did you get any kind of notification when they finally processed yours? I'm just nervous because my deadline was April 10th and I submitted it April 3rd, but still no confirmation.

•Good to know the payments are still coming through for you too. Have you tried calling EDD to check on the status?

The delay with DE 2593 forms is actually pretty common right now. I work as a job counselor and many of my clients are experiencing the same issue. Here's what you should do: 1. Take a screenshot of your submission confirmation if you have one 2. Continue certifying for benefits as normal 3. Keep an eye on your UI Online inbox for any messages 4. If your payments stop or you get a notice about missing information, THEN you should contact EDD immediately In most cases, they're still processing benefits even with the delay in acknowledging the DE 2593. The questionnaire is mainly to verify your continued eligibility, but they typically don't halt payments while reviewing it unless they find a specific issue.

•BUT WHAT IF YOU NEVER GOT A CONFIRMATION??? i mailed mine and didnt take a picture of it before sending...am i screwed??? this is so stressful!!!!

•You're not screwed. If you mailed it, it's a good idea to call EDD to confirm they received it. Just save your tracking number if you have one. If you don't have confirmation or tracking, you can explain the situation to a representative who can make a note on your account that you submitted it by mail.

I think the DE 2593 is different from the bi-weekly certification. Isn't that the form they send out randomly to make sure your eligible for benefits still? I got one last month and just ignored it lol

•The DE 2593 is definitely NOT something you should ignore! It's the Continuing Eligibility Questionnaire that EDD uses to verify you still meet the requirements for benefits. If you don't return it, your claim will likely be flagged and your benefits could stop. You might want to log into your UI Online account immediately to see if there are any alerts or contact EDD right away.

I had the same issue with my DE 2593 form back in February. Submitted it and heard NOTHING for almost 6 weeks! I called EDD every single day trying to get through but kept getting the "we're experiencing high call volume" message. My payments suddenly stopped after 4 weeks with no explanation. I was going crazy trying to reach someone! I finally used Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get through to an actual EDD rep. They have this service that helps you bypass the phone queue. They showed me their process in this video: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km The EDD agent confirmed they received my form but it was sitting in a queue waiting to be processed. They expedited it and my payments resumed the next day. Definitely worth it if you're stuck waiting and need answers!

•Thanks for the tip! If I don't hear anything by the end of next week, I might try that service. Did they explain why your payments stopped if the form was just sitting in a queue?

•The rep said there's an automatic hold that gets placed on some accounts after a certain period if the DE 2593 is still pending review. It's not supposed to happen if you submitted before the deadline, but their system isn't perfect. The rep manually removed the hold once they verified they had my form.

My sister works for EDD (not saying this to brag just for context lol) and she mentioned they're SUPER behind on processing paperwork right now. They had some budget cuts and lost a bunch of staff who were handling the continuing eligibility reviews. She said as long as you submitted before your deadline you should be fine even with the delays. If you're really worried though you can always try calling but good luck getting through!!

THIS HAPPENED TO ME TOO!! I sent my DE 2593 in FEBRUARY and didn't hear ANYTHING for 2 months!!! Then suddenly got a notice saying my benefits were DISQUALIFIED because I "failed to provide information"!!! I had to appeal and go through this whole nightmare process to prove I sent it in on time! Make sure you have PROOF you submitted it and keep calling them until someone helps you!!! The system is BROKEN!!

•I'm sorry you went through that frustrating experience. This is why it's so important to keep documentation of everything you submit to EDD, preferably with delivery confirmation or submission confirmations from UI Online. For anyone reading this - take screenshots of online submissions and keep copies of everything you mail to EDD.

Just to provide an update on the DE 2593 processing times - I attended an EDD stakeholder meeting last week where they addressed this specific issue. They confirmed there's currently a 4-6 week processing delay for these forms statewide. They're prioritizing forms from claimants who are nearing the end of their benefit year. If you submitted yours in early April, you should expect to see confirmation by mid-to-late May. Unless you receive a specific notice requesting additional information, your benefits should continue uninterrupted during this review period. If you're concerned, you can also check your claim status by selecting "Contact EDD" from your UI Online account and submitting a secure question about your DE 2593 status. This often gets a response faster than calling.

I'm in the exact same boat! Submitted my DE 2593 on March 25th and it's been radio silence for over a month now. What's really frustrating is that I submitted it online through UI Online and got a confirmation screen, but when I log back in there's no record of it anywhere. My payments are still coming through thankfully, but the anxiety is killing me wondering if something went wrong. Has anyone else noticed their online submission just disappearing from their account history? I'm starting to wonder if there's a glitch in their system where the forms are getting lost between submission and processing. Might try that secure message option that Ravi mentioned to see if I can get some clarity on what's happening with mine.

•I've heard about this issue with online submissions not showing up in account history! It seems like there might be a disconnect between their submission system and the account portal. Even though you can't see it in your history, the form likely still made it to their processing queue - that's probably why your payments are continuing normally. The secure message option is definitely worth trying, and if you still have that confirmation screen showing, maybe take a screenshot of it for your records. You're not alone in this frustrating waiting game!

I'm dealing with the same frustrating situation! Submitted my DE 2593 on April 2nd and it's been over 3 weeks with zero acknowledgment. What's really concerning me is that I've heard mixed stories - some people say their payments continued throughout the delay, but others like Astrid had their benefits suddenly cut off. I've been checking my UI Online account obsessively every day hoping to see some kind of update or message, but nothing. The uncertainty is the worst part because you don't know if you should be worried or if this is just the "new normal" with EDD's processing delays. Has anyone found a reliable way to check the status without having to battle through their phone system? I saw Omar mention Claimyr but I'm hoping there might be a free option first before I have to pay for a service just to talk to someone about a form I already submitted on time.

•I totally get the anxiety about the mixed stories! I'm new to dealing with EDD but from what I've been reading here, it seems like the people who had payments cut off might have had other issues with their claims or didn't submit before their deadline. Since you submitted April 2nd, you should be well within any reasonable deadline they gave you. Before paying for a service, definitely try that secure message option through UI Online that Ravi mentioned - it's free and seems like several people have had luck getting responses that way. I'm in a similar boat waiting for mine to be processed, so you're definitely not alone in this stressful situation!

I'm going through the exact same thing right now! Submitted my DE 2593 on March 30th and it's been almost 4 weeks with no confirmation. Like you, my payments are still coming through but I keep checking my UI Online account multiple times a day hoping to see some kind of update. Reading through all these responses is actually making me feel a lot better - it sounds like this is a widespread issue with EDD's processing delays rather than something specific to our individual claims. The fact that so many people are experiencing 4-6 week delays and their payments are continuing gives me some peace of mind. I think I'm going to try sending a secure message through UI Online like Ravi suggested before attempting to call. At least then I'll have a paper trail if I need to prove I was proactive about following up on my submission. Thanks for posting this - it's reassuring to know we're all in the same boat waiting for EDD to catch up with their backlog!

•I'm so glad you posted this! I just submitted my DE 2593 last week and was already starting to panic when I didn't see immediate confirmation. Reading everyone's experiences here is really helpful - it sounds like 4-6 weeks is unfortunately the new normal right now. I'm definitely going to bookmark this thread and try the secure message approach if I don't hear anything in a few weeks. It's frustrating that EDD doesn't give clearer communication about these delays, but at least we can support each other through the waiting process. Thanks for sharing your timeline!

I'm dealing with this exact same issue! Submitted my DE 2593 on April 8th and it's been over 2 weeks with complete silence from EDD. What's really nerve-wracking is that I've been reading horror stories online about people's benefits getting cut off without warning, but seeing all your experiences here is actually really reassuring. It sounds like the 4-6 week processing delay is pretty standard right now, which is frustrating but at least means I'm not alone. I'm definitely going to try that secure message option through UI Online that several people have mentioned - seems like a good middle ground between waiting it out and paying for a service to get through on the phone. Thanks Eduardo for starting this thread! It's so helpful to have a place where we can share our experiences and timeline updates. I'll post back here if I hear anything through the secure messaging system.

•I'm in the exact same situation! Just submitted mine on April 12th and was already starting to worry after seeing no immediate confirmation. This whole thread has been such a lifesaver - I had no idea the delays were this widespread across the board. It's actually kind of comforting to know that so many people are experiencing the same 4-6 week wait times and their payments are still continuing normally. I was getting really anxious thinking something was wrong with my specific claim, but it sounds like this is just EDD being overwhelmed right now. Definitely going to try the secure message route if I don't hear anything in a few weeks. Thanks everyone for sharing your timelines - it really helps to know we're all navigating this together!

I'm experiencing the exact same delay! Submitted my DE 2593 on April 5th and it's been 3 weeks with no acknowledgment whatsoever. Reading through everyone's experiences here is honestly such a relief - I was starting to think there was something wrong with my specific claim or that my form got lost in the system somehow. The 4-6 week processing delay that Ravi mentioned from the EDD stakeholder meeting actually makes total sense given what everyone is reporting. It's frustrating that EDD doesn't communicate these delays proactively, but at least knowing it's a systemic issue rather than individual problems gives me some peace of mind. I'm going to try the secure message approach through UI Online this week to see if I can get any status update. Will definitely report back here if I hear anything! Thanks Eduardo for starting this discussion - it's been incredibly helpful to see everyone's timelines and know we're all dealing with the same bureaucratic delays together.

I just wanted to add my experience to this thread since I was dealing with the same DE 2593 delay anxiety a few weeks ago! I submitted mine on March 15th and finally got confirmation last week (so about 6 weeks total). My payments continued the entire time without any issues. What really helped ease my stress was keeping a simple log of when I submitted it, screenshot of any confirmation pages, and dates when I followed up. I also sent a secure message through UI Online after 4 weeks and got a response within 3 days confirming they had received my form and it was "in queue for processing." For everyone still waiting - I know the uncertainty is awful, but based on my experience and everyone else's here, it really does seem like this is just their new normal processing time. As long as you submitted before your deadline, you should be fine! The secure messaging route is definitely worth trying if you need peace of mind.

•Thank you so much for sharing your timeline and the successful outcome! This gives me a lot of hope since I'm at about 3.5 weeks waiting for my DE 2593 confirmation. I love your idea about keeping a log - I wish I had thought to screenshot my confirmation page when I submitted online. It's really reassuring to hear that your payments continued throughout the entire 6-week process and that the secure messaging actually got you a response within 3 days. I think I'm going to send one this week just to get that peace of mind confirmation that they have my form. Thanks for taking the time to update us with your positive resolution!

I'm going through the exact same thing! Submitted my DE 2593 on March 28th and it's been over 4 weeks with absolutely no confirmation from EDD. Like many of you, my payments are still coming through normally, but the lack of acknowledgment is really stressful. Reading through everyone's experiences here has been incredibly helpful though - it's clear this isn't just affecting a few people but seems to be a widespread issue with EDD's processing system right now. The 4-6 week timeline that Ravi mentioned from the stakeholder meeting matches what most people are reporting, which gives me some confidence that this is just bureaucratic delays rather than lost paperwork. I think I'm going to try the secure message route through UI Online this week since several people have had success getting confirmation that way within a few days. It's frustrating that EDD doesn't proactively communicate about these delays, but at least we have this community to share experiences and support each other through the waiting process.
