EDD Callback Taking Forever - How Long Did You Wait?

Anyone else waiting for EDD to call them back? It's been hours since I requested a callback and still nothing. I'm starting to get worried they forgot about me or something. How long does it usually take for them to get back to you?

I found a way to solve EDD callback delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvkYBBTzDtU

Ugh, I feel ya. I've been waiting for a callback from EDD for like 2 days now. It's so frustrating! šŸ˜¤ I wish they had a better system for this.

2 days? That's nothing. I've been trying to get through to them for over a week now. It's like they don't even care about us.

Same boat here. Its ridiculous how hard it is to get in touch with them. We need answers!

Wow, a week? That's insane. I guess I should consider myself lucky then. This whole system is so messed up.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda steep just to talk to someone...

I get the skepticism, but honestly, after weeks of trying to get through, it was worth every penny. Saved me so much time and stress.

Can you give more details about how it works? Do they guarantee you'll get through?

Sure! You just go to their website, choose the EDD line you need, pay, and they start calling. When they get a real person, your phone rings. No guarantee, but it worked for me first try.

Pro tip: try calling right when they open in the morning. I got through after only 30 minutes on hold that way.

This is why we need to overhaul the entire unemployment system. It's clearly not equipped to handle high volume situations like this pandemic. We deserve better!

Preach! šŸ™Œ The system is so outdated, it's a joke. We need to put pressure on our representatives to fix this mess.

Totally agree. But good luck getting politicians to care about unemployed people. We're not exactly their priority. šŸ™„

Here's what I've learned after dealing with EDD for months: ā€¢ Be persistent. Keep calling, even if it feels hopeless. ā€¢ Have all your documents ready before you call. They'll ask for a ton of info. ā€¢ Take notes during your call, including the name of the rep you speak to. ā€¢ If one rep can't help, politely ask to speak to a supervisor. ā€¢ Check your online account regularly for updates. ā€¢ Don't give up! It's frustrating, but eventually you'll get through. Hope this helps someone out there. We're all in this together. šŸ’Ŗ

This is gold! Thanks for sharing your experience. It's so helpful to have a game plan when dealing with them.

Great advice! I'd add: record the call if you can (check your state laws first). It's saved my butt more than once.

šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£ For real tho. I think I have a better chance of winning the lottery than getting a call back from them.

Has anyone tried reaching out to their local state representative? I've heard some people have had success getting help that way when EDD ghosted them.

I did this! It actually worked. My rep's office contacted EDD on my behalf and I got a call back within 48 hours. Definitely worth a shot.

Wow, really? I'm gonna try this. Do you just call their office or is there a specific process?

I emailed my rep's office explaining my situation. They had me fill out a form authorizing them to inquire about my case. After that, they handled everything. Good luck!
