EDD not processing benefit amount after mailing docs 2 weeks ago. Missed their call today. Any advice?

Ugh, I feel your pain. EDD's phone system is a nightmare! I've been trying to get through for weeks. Here's what I've learned: 1. Call right when they open. Like, set an alarm and be ready to dial. 2. If you get a busy signal, hang up and redial immediately. Sometimes it takes 50+ tries. 3. Have all your info ready when you call. They might ask for your SSN, claim ID, etc. 4. Be super nice to the rep when you finally get through. They deal with angry people all day. 5. If all else fails, contact your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes intervene on your behalf. Good luck! The system is broken, but don't give up. 💪

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

have u tried faxing ur docs instead of mailing? i did that and it seemed to speed things up a bit. also, keep calling! dont give up!

This whole system is a joke. I've been waiting 3 months for them to process my claim. THREE MONTHS! How are we supposed to survive like this? 🤬

Pro tip: if u cant get thru on the main line, try calling the employer line instead. sometimes they'll help claimants too if theyre not busy

Anyone else notice that the EDD website is always "undergoing maintenance" when you actually need to use it? 🙄 It's like they're actively trying to make this difficult for us.
