EDD not processing benefit amount after mailing docs 2 weeks ago. Missed their call today. Any advice?
I've been waiting for EDD to process my remaining benefit amount. I mailed in the required documentation two weeks ago, but still haven't heard back. I can't access my account online, so I've been trying to call them. Today, I missed their call because I couldn't pick up fast enough. It's been hours since then, and I'm still waiting for them to call back. With EDD closing soon, I'm worried about my chances of getting through today. Anyone else dealing with similar issues or have advice on how to get in touch with them?

Ugh, I feel your pain. EDD's phone system is a nightmare! I've been trying to get through for weeks. Here's what I've learned: 1. Call right when they open. Like, set an alarm and be ready to dial. 2. If you get a busy signal, hang up and redial immediately. Sometimes it takes 50+ tries. 3. Have all your info ready when you call. They might ask for your SSN, claim ID, etc. 4. Be super nice to the rep when you finally get through. They deal with angry people all day. 5. If all else fails, contact your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes intervene on your behalf. Good luck! The system is broken, but don't give up. 💪

This is solid advice! I'd add that Tuesdays and Wednesdays seem to be slightly less busy in my experience.

I've heard mixed things about contacting assembly members. Has anyone actually had success with this?

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. After weeks of trying, I was desperate enough to try anything. The $20 was worth it to finally get my issue resolved.

How long did you have to wait once they started calling?

It took about 2 hours for me, but I've heard it can vary. Still beats spending all day hitting redial!

This whole system is a joke. I've been waiting 3 months for them to process my claim. THREE MONTHS! How are we supposed to survive like this? 🤬

Preach! 👏 The government needs to get its act together. We're not asking for handouts, just what we're owed!

Have you tried reaching out to local news stations? Sometimes public pressure can make a difference.

Pro tip: if u cant get thru on the main line, try calling the employer line instead. sometimes they'll help claimants too if theyre not busy

Anyone else notice that the EDD website is always "undergoing maintenance" when you actually need to use it? 🙄 It's like they're actively trying to make this difficult for us.

Hey OP, quick question - when you say you mailed the documentation, did you send it certified mail? Always get proof when dealing with govt agencies!

Ugh, no I didn't. That's a good idea tho, I'll remember that for next time. Thx for the tip!
