EDD never answers calls - How to actually reach a human for claim updates?
Anyone else having trouble getting through to EDD? I've been trying to update my claim for weeks now, but they never seem to answer the phone. It's so frustrating! I'm starting to worry about my benefits. Has anyone had any luck recently or know a better way to contact them?

Ugh, I feel your pain! I've been calling non-stop for the past month. It's like they've disappeared off the face of the earth or something. š¤ Have you tried calling right when they open? I heard that might work, but no luck for me so far.

Calling when they open is useless. I've tried that every day for two weeks straight. Always get the same automated message saying they're too busy. It's a joke!

Same here! I even tried calling 5 minutes before they officially open. No dice. š«

Thanks for the suggestion, but yeah, I've tried that too. No luck at all. It's so frustrating!

I actually found a way to get through! There's this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that calls EDD for you, waits on hold, and then connects you when a real person picks up. It costs $20, but it worked for me. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure it's legit?

Yeah, I was skeptical at first too, but I can confirm it's real. Used it last week and finally got my claim sorted out.

How long did you have to wait? Is it really faster than calling yourself?

For me, it took about 2 hours. But the best part is you don't have to sit there listening to hold music. They call you when an agent is on the line.

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They sometimes have direct lines to EDD and can help push your claim through. Worth a shot!

This whole system is broken af. How are we supposed to survive when we can't even get basic info about our claims? EDD needs to get their sh*t together fr š¤

Preach! š It's like they don't even care that people are struggling to pay rent and buy food.

Here's what I've learned after dealing with EDD for months: ā¢ Best times to call are Tuesday-Thursday, between 10am-11am or 2pm-3pm ā¢ Use the comma method when dialing to skip the intro (look it up) ā¢ If you get through, ask for a tier 2 specialist right away ā¢ Document EVERYTHING - dates, times, rep names ā¢ Check your UI Online account daily for updates ā¢ If all else fails, contact your state representative Hope this helps someone. Stay persistent!

What's the comma method? Never heard of that before.

It's where you add commas in your phone's dialer to create pauses, then add the menu options you want. So the phone basically navigates the menu for you automatically.

Has anyone tried faxing? I know it sounds ancient, but I heard some people have had success that way. Might be worth a shot if nothing else is working.

Faxing? What year is it, 1995? š But for real, if it works, I'm willing to try anything at this point.
