Struggling to reach CAEDD about claim and missing payments - Any advice?
I've been trying to get through to EDD for months about my claim and payments. I haven't heard anything from them and I'm not sure why my payments haven't arrived. It's so frustrating dealing with CAEDD. They close at 5 and I'm worried about getting this call done. Anyone else in the same boat or have any advice?

Ugh, I feel your pain. EDD is a nightmare to deal with. Have you tried checking your online account for any updates or messages? Sometimes they post important info there without actually contacting you.

Yeah, I've been checking my online account religiously. Nothing new there either. It's like they've forgotten about me 😫

Pro tip: take screenshots of everything in your online account. You never know when you might need proof of what was (or wasn't) there.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

I was skeptical at first too, but it really worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

$20 to actually talk to someone? Might be worth it at this point lol

Nah, it's legit. They don't ask for any personal info, just connect you to EDD. Totally get the skepticism tho

Here's what you need to do when you finally get through: 1. Ask about your claim status 2. Check if any documents are missing 3. Inquire about the reason for payment delay 4. Get a reference number for the call 5. Ask for next steps and timeline Be persistent and don't let them rush you off the phone. Good luck!

This is super helpful, thank you! I'll definitely use this checklist when I get through.

Great advice! I'd add: ask them to notate your account with the info they give you. It helps if you have to call back later.

EDD is a joke. They need to update their whole system. It's 2023 and we're still dealing with this bs 🤡

For real tho. My grandma could design a better system and she can barely use a smartphone 💀

Careful what you wish for. Last time they "updated" the system it was down for weeks 😅

Hang in there, OP. I was in the same boat a few months ago. It sucks, but keep pushing. Document everything and don't give up!

Thanks for the encouragement. How long did it take for you to finally get it resolved?

It took about 2 months of constant calling and emailing. But once I got through to the right person, it was sorted in a week.
