EDD payment delay - no notices, what to ask when I call?
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my EDD payment. It's been a while since I filed my claim, but I still haven't received anything. I haven't gotten any notices or letters about my payment status either. Has anyone else experienced this? What should I do when I call them? I'm kinda nervous about talking to them and want to make sure I don't mess anything up.

Ugh, welcome to the club 🙄 EDD is a total mess rn. Make sure you have your claim filing date ready when you call. Ask about processing times and if they need anything else from you. Good luck!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds sketchy. Is it legit?

Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

How long did you have to wait for the callback?

It took about 2 hours for me, but I've heard it can vary. Still way better than trying to call yourself!

Here's what you need to do when you finally get through to EDD: 1. Stay calm and be polite. The person on the other end is probably dealing with angry callers all day. 2. Have your claim number and filing date ready. 3. Ask about the status of your claim and why there's a delay. 4. Inquire if there's any additional information they need from you. 5. Get a reference number for your call. 6. Ask about next steps and when you can expect an update. 7. If they can't help, politely ask to speak with a tier 2 specialist. Remember to take notes during the call. Good luck!

This is super helpful, thank you so much! I'll definitely use this as a guide when I call.

Great advice! I'd add: ask them to notate your account with the details of your call. It helps if you need to follow up later.

6 weeks? Amateur hour. Try 3 months with no payment and no answers ðŸ˜

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 minutes on hold last week. Also, try the askEDD feature on their website to submit a question. Sometimes they respond faster that way.

Anyone else notice that EDD seems to be prioritizing new claims over existing ones? I've been waiting forever, but my friend who just filed got paid in like 2 weeks. wtf

I've heard that too! It's so unfair to those of us who've been waiting for months 😡

Honestly, at this point I'm considering writing to my state representative. Maybe if enough of us make noise, they'll actually fix this broken system.

That's actually not a bad idea. Strength in numbers, right? 💪

I did that last month. Got a response saying they'd look into it, but still nothing. Worth a shot tho
