SDI payment delay: Filed claim, no payment received. Advice needed for contacting EDD

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my SDI payment. I filed my claim a while back and still haven't received anything. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm getting worried and don't know what to do next. Any advice on how to handle this or what questions I should ask when I finally get through to EDD?

I found a way to solve SDI payment delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05vL1YirZC0

Heres a wild idea: what if we all showed up at the EDD office with lawn chairs and snacks? Occupy EDD! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Let's not turn this into a political debate. OP just needs help with their claim.

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member? They can sometimes help push things along with EDD.

That's actually a great idea. It's amazing how sometimes a little political pressure can get things moving.

Ugh, welcome to the club. ๐Ÿ™„ I've been waiting on my SDI payment for weeks now. It's like they're playing hide and seek with our money.

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 mins on hold last week!

What time do they open?

I feel ya, OP. The EDD system is a total mess rn. Here's what I did to finally get some answers: 1. Gather all your claim info - dates, confirmation numbers, everything 2. Write down specific questions (When will I get paid? Is there a hold on my claim?) 3. Be persistent! Keep calling even if it takes days 4. Ask for a supervisor if the first person can't help Good luck! Let us know how it goes.

This is solid advice. I'd add: keep a log of who you talk to and when. It helps if you need to escalate later.

Don't forget to check your spam folder! My friend almost missed an important EDD email that way.

I'm in the same boat, OP. Been waiting 2 months now. Starting to feel like I'm gonna strike out with EDD ๐Ÿ˜ž

Hang in there! Persistence is key, and it seems like many have had success by sticking it out.

Have you tried checking your claim status online? Sometimes it updates there before they actually send the payment.

Yeah, I've been refreshing that page like crazy. Still says "pending" ๐Ÿ˜ซ

Same here. I think "pending" is EDD-speak for "we're ignoring you" lol

I had to google Kafka, but now I'm ๐Ÿ’ฏ agree. This system is absurd.

To address your issue comprehensively, it's important to understand that EDD is often overwhelmed with claims, which can cause significant delays in processing. While calling might feel futile, consistently reaching out during non-peak hours, such as when they first open, can increase your chances of getting through. Keeping meticulous records of all interactions is vital, as it will aid in escalating your situation if necessary. Claimyr is a legitimate service that has helped others in similar positions; however, the cost of $20 might not be justified for everyone. Weighing the benefit of saving time against the fee is crucial. Moreover, involving local legislators can sometimes expedite the process, as they can apply pressure on governmental agencies. Ultimately, patience and persistence are key, and while the system might feel Kafkaesque, many have successfully navigated through by using these methods.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

Totally legit! I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of hold time.

$20 to actually talk to a human? Might be worth it at this point...

Claimyr seems like a great option if you're really stuck, but some might be hesitant about the cost. Itโ€™s important to weigh the value of your time versus the fee.
