Missed SDI call from EDD - What to do now?

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my SDI payment. I missed the call from EDD and now I'm not sure what to do. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to get them to call back or what my next steps should be? I'm really worried about missing out on my payment.

I found a way to solve missed EDD call payment issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MYubEL1-gi8

Ugh, that sucks! I've been there before. EDD can be such a pain to deal with. Have you tried calling them back? Sometimes if you call right away, you might get lucky and get through.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've tried calling back a few times but keep getting stuck in this endless phone tree. It's so frustrating! 😤

Pro tip: try calling right when they open. I've had better luck getting through that way. Good luck!

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda steep just to make a phone call.

I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo. 💯

Can you give more details about how it works? Do they guarantee you'll get through?

Sure! Basically, you choose the EDD line you need to call, pay the fee, and their system starts calling. It navigates the menu and waits on hold. When a real person picks up, it forwards the call to your phone. No guarantee, but it worked for me on the first try.

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they leave messages there about missed calls or next steps. Might be worth a look if you haven't already.

This whole system is so broken. Why can't they just have a decent website where we can handle everything online? It's 2023 for crying out loud! 🤦‍♂️

Preach! 🙌 I've been saying this for years. The government needs to get with the times.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Keep calling. I know it sucks, but persistence is key. 2. Check your online account for any messages or updates. 3. If you have a disability case worker, try contacting them directly. 4. Consider using one of those paid services that wait on hold for you (like the one mentioned above). 5. As a last resort, you might want to contact your local state representative. They sometimes can help push things through. Remember, document everything. Keep a log of all your call attempts, any messages you receive, and any communication with EDD. This can be helpful if you need to escalate your case. Don't give up! The system is frustrating, but you'll get through eventually. Good luck!

This is solid advice. I'd add that if you do contact your rep, be super polite and have all your info ready. They can be a huge help!

Hey OP, how long ago did you miss the call? If it was just today, you might still have a chance if you call back ASAP.
