Can't log in to EDD account - forgot employment dates. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble logging into my unemployment account to file a disability claim. I can't reset my password because I don't remember the dates of my prior employment or when I last received an unemployment check. I've tried contacting unemployment, but no one has been able to help me. Anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to get this sorted out?

Ugh, the EDD system is such a nightmare! I had a similar issue last year. Have you tried calling their tech support line? Sometimes they can verify your identity another way.

•I've been trying to call for days, but I can never get through. It's so frustrating!

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 minutes on hold that way.

•30 minutes? You got lucky! I was on hold for 3 hours last time ðŸ˜

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•Yeah, it's legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

•How long did it take for them to get someone on the line?

•It took about an hour and a half, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. They just called me when an agent was ready.

Have you tried going to an EDD office in person? Sometimes face-to-face is the only way to get things done with these bureaucrats.

This is why I always keep a detailed work history document updated. Saves so much hassle when dealing with unemployment stuff. Maybe start putting one together for the future?

•That's a good idea. Wish I'd thought of that earlier! 😅

Ok, here's what you need to do: 1. Gather any old tax documents, W-2s, or pay stubs you can find. These might have the dates you need. 2. Check your email for any correspondence from previous employers or EDD. 3. If you have a MySSA account, log in there. It might have your employment history. 4. As a last resort, contact your previous employers directly. They should have records of your employment dates. 5. For the last unemployment check date, check your bank statements if you used direct deposit. Once you have this info, try the password reset again. If it still doesn't work, use one of the methods others suggested to speak with an EDD rep directly. Good luck!

•Wow, thank you so much for this detailed response! I'll definitely try these steps.

•This is solid advice. I'd add: take screenshots of everything during the process. EDD's known for 'losing' info.

Have you tried using the 'Ask EDD' feature on their website? Sometimes you can get a response faster that way than calling.

I'm in the same boat, been trying to sort out my claim for weeks. This system is so broken, it's ridiculous.

•Preach! 🙌 It's like they purposely make it difficult to discourage people from claiming benefits.

Hey OP, just a heads up - be careful about sharing too much personal info when you do get through. There's been a lot of EDD fraud lately.
