Just to give you final confirmation - I received my last payment on my BofA card on July 8th (after the transition announcement but before my Money Network card arrived). Then got my Money Network card on July 17th, activated it, and my next payment went there automatically. The system knows where to send your money based on which card is active. So if you're seeing 'Paid' status today and don't have a Money Network card yet, that money is definitely going to your BofA card.
This happened to me in 2022 and 2023 and I had to file my taxes without the 1099-G once and just estimated my UI income. Had to file an amendment later when I finally got the 1099-G. Such a pain! My sister works for the state (not EDD) and she said that state agencies are always behind on everything because they're understaffed and use outdated computer systems. Did you try calling the dedicated 1099-G phone line? It's different from the regular EDD number.
Just to clarify, estimating your UI income is not recommended by tax professionals. If you file without the official form and your estimate is incorrect, you'll need to file an amended return which can delay any refund and potentially trigger an IRS review. It's better to wait for the official form or request a duplicate through UI Online if the original is delayed.
Update: Thanks everyone for the advice! I managed to get through to EDD this morning (only had to call 7 times lol). They confirmed they're processing the final quarterly report from my employer and my 1099-G should be available online within 10 days. The representative also showed me how to see my total benefit amount for 2024 in the UI Online system which matches what I calculated using my payment history. I feel much better now knowing everything is on track!
have u tried calling the different edd numbers? theres like 3 different ones i think. sometimes the less obvious ones have shorter wait times.
I've only been trying the main 800-300-5616 number. Do you know what the other numbers are? I'll try anything at this point!
The other main EDD numbers are 1-833-978-2511 (general help) and 1-866-333-4606 (automated self-service). However, for certification corrections, you specifically need the 5616 number since the others don't have representatives who can access and modify your certification details. The 2511 agents can only help with general questions and account issues.
Update: I FINALLY got through to EDD this morning! Called at 8:01 exactly like someone suggested, waited on hold for about 35 minutes, but eventually spoke to a representative. They confirmed this was a simple error they could fix, and the representative updated my certification on the spot. She said my payment should process normally within 24-48 hours. Such a relief! Thanks everyone for your advice and help with this stressful situation.
dont they have to proove u did something wrong?? how can they just say ur performance was bad without any evedince???
You're right - the burden of proof is on the employer to demonstrate that the claimant engaged in misconduct. Simply stating "substandard performance" without documentation typically isn't enough to deny benefits. However, the claimant still needs to accurately report the employer's stated reason on the initial application, even if they disagree with it.
When I filed mine last year, I put exactly what my termination letter said even though it was completely unfair. I was super nervous about the phone interview but it wasn't as scary as I thought. The interviewer just asked me a bunch of questions and let me tell my side. Got approved for benefits within a week after that. Just be honest and you'll be fine!

Anyone else notice that if you transfer on a Monday it goes through faster than if you do it on a Thursday or Friday? Or is that just me?

•There's definitely some truth to this. Banking processes tend to slow down near the end of the week. Monday-Wednesday transfers usually process more efficiently in my experience as well. It's not an official policy, just how the banking system tends to work with ACH transfers.

Update: I went ahead and initiated the transfer this morning. The Money Network site says it should be in my account by Tuesday! Cutting it close for rent but should work out. Thanks everyone for the advice!

•Great! In my experience, it often shows up earlier than their estimate. Hope that happens for you too!
