How to open new EDD claim in Spanish? Need help ASAP!
Hey everyone, I need some help opening a new unemployment claim. The thing is, I don't speak English very well and I'm wondering if there's a way to do it in Spanish? Has anyone gone through this process before? Any tips or advice would be really appreciated!

Yo tambien! I was in the same boat last year. It's definitely possible to file in Spanish. When you go to the unemployment website, there should be an option to change the language to Spanish right at the top of the page. Once you do that, all the forms and instructions will be in Spanish.

•Gracias! That's super helpful. Did you have any trouble with the process after switching to Spanish?

•Nah, it was pretty straightforward after that. Just make sure you have all your employment info ready before you start. And don't be afraid to call their Spanish helpline if you get stuck!

•This is great advice! 👍 I wish I'd known about the language option when I first applied. Would've saved me a lot of headaches lol

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone to help. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/0UZGuPWGErg

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

•Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of waiting on hold. Worth every penny imo

•How long did it take for them to get someone on the line for you?

•It took about 45 minutes in my case, but I've heard it can vary. Still way faster than trying to get through yourself!

pro tip: if you're having trouble with the online system, try calling early in the morning like right when they open. I got through pretty quick that way

Here's a step-by-step guide for filing a Spanish unemployment claim: 1. Go to the official EDD website 2. Look for the language option at the top of the page and select 'Español' 3. Click on 'Solicitar beneficios' 4. You'll need to create an account if you don't have one 5. Gather all your employment info, including past employers and dates 6. Fill out the application carefully - double check everything! 7. Submit and wait for confirmation If you get stuck, don't hesitate to use the Spanish language helpline. And remember, be patient - the system can be slow sometimes. Hope this helps! Buena suerte! 💪

•Be careful with this tho. Sometimes the translations can be off and you don't want to mess up your application
