Can't find my EDD eligibility interview date anywhere - help!

I'm freaking out a bit right now. I just got a notification from EDD saying I'm scheduled for an eligibility interview, but there's no date or time listed ANYWHERE in my UI Online account! I've clicked through every tab and menu option but can't find anything about when this interview is supposed to happen. My claim is already delayed by 3 weeks, and I really can't afford to miss this interview and have things pushed back even further. Has anyone else had this problem? Where exactly can I find my interview date/time? I checked my email and text messages too, but nothing there either. Getting really worried I'll miss it and end up disqualified!

omg same thing happened to me last month!! the interview date should be in your UI online inbox, not on the main dashboard. also check ur physical mail, they sometimes ONLY send it through regular mail which is so dumb bc who checks their mail everyday?? I ended up missing mine and had to request a new interview which added like 3 more weeks to my claim 😭

Seriously?! I've been checking my UI Online inbox obsessively and there's nothing there! I haven't been checking my physical mail that often since everything's usually electronic now. I'm going to go check right now. Did you have to call them to reschedule or could you do it online?

The interview notification is actually sent through regular mail. They should have sent you a DE 4800 form with the exact date and time of your interview, along with the reason for the interview and what documents you should have ready. It's important to keep your address updated with EDD for this reason. Also, make sure to answer your phone even if you don't recognize the number on the scheduled day. EDD calls often show as "Private Number" or various area codes. They typically only call twice before marking you as a no-show.

Thank you! I just checked my mail and found it buried under a bunch of junk mail. The interview is actually TOMORROW at 10:15am! I would have completely missed it. It says the interview is about "separation from employer" which makes sense since I was laid off. Should I have any specific documents ready?

Thanks for the heads up! I'll make sure I'm ready with my phone starting an hour early just to be safe. Definitely don't want to deal with an appeal.

My interview was supposed to be about why I left my job too. They asked me like 5 questions total, super easy. Just be honest and you'll be fine. My interviewer was really nice actually. Not like when you call the regular EDD line and get those rude people who act like they hate their job lol.

The interview questions typically focus on the reason for separation from your employer. If you were laid off, they'll verify this with your employer. Make sure you have your last day of work, reason for separation, and supervisor's name ready. They may also ask if you're able and available for work and if you're actively looking for new employment. The interview usually lasts 15-30 minutes.

I had to reach EDD about my interview that I missed (they sent notice to my old address 🙄) and it was IMPOSSIBLE to get through on the phone. After 3 days of constant calling, I finally used Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get through to a rep in about 20 minutes. They have this system that keeps dialing for you until it connects. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km Worth it for me because I was able to get my interview rescheduled right away instead of waiting for weeks. Just an option if you need to talk to someone at EDD quickly!

Good point! I'll make sure I'm somewhere with solid reception. I have all my layoff details and my former supervisor's contact info ready to go. Fingers crossed it goes smoothly!

After your interview, you should see a decision in your UI Online account within 2-3 business days. If approved, payments typically process within 24-48 hours after the decision. If your claim is denied, you'll receive a Notice of Determination explaining why and how to appeal. About 60% of eligibility interviews result in immediate approval, especially for clear-cut layoff situations.

Update: I had my interview this morning and it went really well! The interviewer was super nice and said everything looks good on my claim. She said I should see a payment within 3 days. Thanks everyone for all your help - I would have completely missed this interview without your advice!
