PFL claim stuck - submitted birth cert & DE 2501F but no payment. What am I missing?

Hey everyone, I just had my first child and I'm trying to figure out this paid family leave situation. I submitted the birth certificate from the hospital and filled out the DE 2501F form, but I haven't received any payment yet. Anyone know what I might be missing or if there's something wrong with my application? I'm getting worried because bills are piling up and I need this money soon.

I found a way to solve PFL claim processing delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HFeGNhM59so

Congrats on the new baby! 🎉 Have you checked the status of your claim online? Sometimes it takes a few weeks for them to process everything. Make sure you've also submitted any additional documentation they might need, like proof of your relationship to the child or your employment info.

Thanks! I haven't checked online yet, I'll do that now. How long did it take for your claim to be processed?

For me, it took about 3 weeks from when I submitted everything. But I've heard it can vary. Definitely keep an eye on it and don't be afraid to call if it's been more than a month!

3 weeks? You got lucky! Mine took almost 2 months to process. The system is so backed up rn its ridiculous 🙄

Did you make sure to have your employer fill out their portion of the DE 2501F? That's a common holdup for a lot of people.

ugh, the EDD is such a nightmare to deal with. I swear they make it complicated on purpose 🤬 Good luck, OP. You're gonna need it!

Here's what you need to do to make sure your Paid Family Leave (PFL) claim goes through smoothly: 1. Double-check that you've submitted ALL required documents: - Birth certificate - Completed DE 2501F form - Proof of your relationship to the child (if not biological parent) - Proof of employment and wages 2. Ensure your employer has completed their portion of the DE 2501F. 3. Verify your identity through ID.me if you haven't already. 4. Check your claim status online regularly. 5. If it's been more than 14 days since you submitted everything, call EDD. Be persistent! 6. Keep an eye on your mail and email for any requests for additional information. Remember, processing times can vary, but staying proactive is key. Don't hesitate to follow up if you're not seeing progress!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds sketchy. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of hold time. Worth every penny imo.

20 bucks to skip the hold time? Sign me up! 🙌

idk man, giving out your phone # to a random site seems risky

@profile 12 I get the concern, but they don't store your number or anything. It just connects the call. I've used it twice now with no issues.

have you tried faxing your documents? sometimes that gets faster results than mailing or uploading online

What year is it? 1995? Who tf still uses fax? 😂

laugh all you want, but it worked for me 🤷‍♂️

Just wanted to say hang in there, OP! I know how stressful this can be, especially with a newborn. You've got this! 💪

Thank you so much! It's definitely been a rollercoaster of emotions.
