PFL claim pending online but no info when calling - How to reach a rep?
I'm having trouble with my paid family leave claim. I submitted it online and it shows as pending in my account, but when I called the automated system, it said there was no information for my social security number. I really need to speak with someone to get my claim processed and started. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on how to get through to a representative?

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. Been trying to get through for weeks. The phone lines are always busy and the online chat is useless. It's so frustrating!

ā¢Tell me about it! I've been calling every day for the past month. It's like they don't want us to get our benefits š

ā¢Have you tried calling right when they open? I heard that's the best time to get through.

ā¢Yeah, I've tried that. No luck. It's always the same automated message saying they're too busy. I'm at my wits end here!

I found a way to get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

ā¢Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure it's legit?

ā¢How long did you have to wait? Is it really worth $20?

ā¢I promise it's legit! I was skeptical too, but I was desperate. I waited about 2 hours, but I didn't have to sit by the phone. For me, it was totally worth it to finally talk to someone.

Here's what I've learned from my experience with PFL claims: ⢠Always keep copies of everything you submit ⢠Follow up regularly on your claim status ⢠If possible, fax your documents instead of mailing them ⢠Be persistent and don't give up ⢠Consider reaching out to your local representative for help Hope this helps someone! It's a frustrating process, but hang in there.

has anyone else noticed that the online system is always "under maintenance" when you need it most? š¤ its like they're trying to make this as difficult as possible

Pro tip: if you can't get through on the main line, try calling some of the other departments. Sometimes they can transfer you to the right person. It's worked for me before!

ā¢Which departments have you had luck with? I'm willing to try anything at this point!

ā¢I've had some success with the general information line and the technical support line. Just be polite and explain your situation, most of the time they're willing to help.

Anyone else feel like they need a degree in bureaucracy to navigate this system? šš¤¦āāļø I'm bout ready to give up and go back to work, even tho I really need this leave.

ā¢Don't give up! That's what they want. Stay strong and keep fighting for your benefits. You deserve them! šŖ

I wonder if we could start a class action lawsuit for all the stress and financial hardship caused by these delays. This is getting ridiculous!

ā¢I'd sign up for that in a heartbeat! š

ā¢Lol good luck suing the government. We'd all be grandparents by the time that case got resolved š
