PFL Application Stuck in Processing for 4 Weeks - Help!

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my PFL application. It's been showing as 'processing' for 4 weeks now. Anyone else experiencing this? Any advice on what I should do next? I'm getting worried about the delay. On a lighter note, while I was waiting, I tried my hand at some Indian cooking. Made a pretty decent chickpea curry with some spices I had lying around. At least that turned out well! 😅 Anyone else picking up new hobbies while dealing with this PFL stuff?

Ava Kim

Ugh, I feel ya. My PFL app was stuck in processing for like 6 weeks! It's so frustrating. Have you tried calling them? It's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

6 weeks?! That's insane. I've been trying to call but can never get through. Did you have any luck actually talking to someone?

Ava Kim

Yeah, it took forever. I finally got through after calling like 50 times 🙄 Keep trying, early mornings seemed to work best for me.

Pro tip: use claimyr.com. It's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and connects you when an agent picks up. Costs $20 but saved me hours of frustration. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Wait, seriously? $20 to make a phone call? Sounds like a scam to me...

Nah, it's legit. I was skeptical too, but it worked for me. Way better than wasting a whole day on hold.

That chickpea curry sounds bomb! Care to share the recipe? 🍛

Sure thing! I just winged it, but here's the gist: - Sauté onions, garlic, ginger - Add spices (cumin, turmeric, coriander, garam masala) - Throw in some chopped tomatoes - Add chickpeas and simmer - Garnish with cilantro Super easy and tasty!

Awesome, thanks! Gonna try this tonight. At least we can eat well while dealing with this PFL nonsense 😂

Here's what I've learned about PFL processing times: 1. Normal processing time is 2-3 weeks, but can take up to 6-8 weeks during busy periods. 2. If your employer hasn't submitted their portion, it can cause delays. 3. Incomplete applications or missing documents will slow things down. 4. Sometimes the system doesn't update even if they're working on your claim. Suggestions: - Double-check that your application is complete - Contact your employer to ensure they've submitted everything - Keep calling EDD (I know it sucks, but persistence pays off) - If it's been over 6 weeks, consider reaching out to your local state representative for help Hang in there! The system is frustrating, but you'll get through it.

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed info! I'll definitely check with my employer and keep trying to call. Really appreciate the help!

lol welcome to the wonderful world of government efficiency 🤡 I swear they're running these systems on Windows 95

Have you tried checking your claim status online? Sometimes it updates there before they notify you.

Yeah, I've been refreshing that page like a maniac 😅 Still just says 'processing' though.

Oof, that's rough. Hang in there, hopefully it updates soon!

I'm in the same boat, 5 weeks and counting. This whole system is a joke. Anyone know if we can file a complaint somewhere?

0 coins

You can try filing a complaint with the EDD directly, but good luck getting a response. I filed one 3 months ago and crickets 🦗

Contact your state rep! They sometimes can light a fire under EDD's a**

guys i found a way to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds sketchy af. You sure this isn't a scam?

0 coins

Nah, it's legit. I was skeptical too but it actually worked. Saved me hours of frustration.

How long did you have to wait for the call back?

0 coins

It took about 2 hours for me, but beats spending all day hitting redial!

Pro tip: If you can't get through on the phone, try faxing your inquiry. Sometimes they respond faster to faxes (ikr, welcome to 1995 🙄

Anyone else feel like they're gonna go crazy waiting for their PFL to process? I've started talking to my houseplants... they're better listeners than EDD 🌱😂

Lmao, I feel you. My sourdough starter is my new therapist 🍞

Y'all are killing me 🤣 But for real, this wait is maddening
