Need advice on canceling my claim - what to expect?
Hey everyone, I need some advice. I filed a claim recently but now I'm thinking about canceling it. Has anyone gone through this process before? What should I expect? Any tips or things I should watch out for?

I found a way to solve long claim cancellation wait times, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2vRYzj1gno

I've been there before. The cancellation process can be a real pain. Make sure you have all your paperwork ready when you call. They'll probably ask you a bunch of questions about why you're canceling.

Just curious, why are you canceling? Sometimes it's better to let the claim process play out, even if you think you might not need it.

ā¢I got a new job offer, so I don't think I'll need the benefits anymore. But I'm not sure if I should just let it go through anyway, just in case?

ā¢Congrats on the new job! š In that case, yeah, you probably want to cancel. Just make sure you're 100% sure about the new gig before you do.

Hey guys, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone without waiting forever. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

ā¢Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

ā¢$20? Idk man, seems kinda steep just to make a phone call.

ā¢I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imho.

ā¢How does it work exactly? Do they give you a specific time to expect the call?

ā¢Yeah, they send you updates on the wait time and then call you when an agent is on the line. Super smooth process.

Here's what you need to know about canceling a claim: ⢠Call the claims department directly. Don't waste time with the general helpline. ⢠Have your claim number and personal info ready. ⢠Be prepared to explain why you're canceling. ⢠Ask about any potential penalties or if it will affect future claims. ⢠Get confirmation in writing if possible. ⢠If you're canceling due to new employment, make sure you have a firm start date before canceling. Remember, the process can take time, so be patient. And if you're not 100% sure about canceling, consider just letting the claim process finish. It's usually easier than trying to reinstate a canceled claim later.

ā¢Great advice! I'd add: keep a record of who you talked to and when. It can be helpful if there are any issues later.

Quick tip: if you're having trouble getting through on the phone, try calling right when they open in the morning. I've had better luck that way.

Has anyone successfully canceled online? I've heard mixed things about whether that's even possible.

ā¢I tried once and it was a disaster. Ended up having to call anyway. Save yourself the headache and just call from the start.

ā¢Same here. The online system is a joke tbh

I actually just went through this process last week! Here's what worked for me: I called the main number at 8:00 AM sharp and got through in about 20 minutes. The rep was actually really helpful once I explained my situation. They asked for my claim number, SSN, and reason for canceling. The whole call took maybe 10 minutes once connected. They said it would take 3-5 business days to process and I got a confirmation email 2 days later. Pro tip: have a pen and paper ready to write down the confirmation number they give you - you'll want that for your records!
