Does EDD call outside business hours? Confused about payment status updates
Hey everyone, I'm confused about something. Does anyone know if the EDD still calls us even when they're closed? I thought they only operated during business hours, but I'm not sure.

Nah, they don't call outside of business hours. EDD only operates Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. If you're getting calls outside of that, it might be a scam or something else. Be careful!

Guys, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone at EDD! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. PSA: Always double-check the number youre calling for EDD. There are a lot of scammers out there trying to get your personal info. The official EDD number is 1-800-300-5616.

•Yeah, you can check it on the EDD website. Just log into your account and go to the 'Claim Status' section. It's usually pretty up to date.

Just to add to what others have said - EDD definitely doesn't call outside business hours. I learned this the hard way when I got a "callback" at 7 PM last month asking for my SSN and bank info. Turned out to be a scam! If you're expecting a call back, they'll only reach out during their normal operating hours (8 AM - 5 PM, Mon-Fri). Stay safe out there! 🛡️
