SDI Payment Delayed 3 Weeks - How to Switch from Check to Direct Deposit ASAP?

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. My SDI claim has been processed and I know my weekly amount, but it's been 3 weeks and I still haven't gotten paid. I originally chose to get a check because the system wouldn't accept my direct deposit info. Now I'm trying to switch to direct deposit because I really need the money ASAP for bills. Has anyone had luck changing their payment method? Any tips on how to get this sorted out quickly?

Ugh, I feel your pain! I was in the same boat last month. Have you tried calling the SDI office? It's a pain to get through, but once you do, they can usually help switch your payment method pretty quickly.

Thanks for the advice! I've been trying to call but keep getting stuck on hold forever. Any tricks to get through faster?

Honestly, it's just a waiting game. I had to call like 50 times before I got through. Just keep at it and eventually you'll get lucky!

Pro tip: try calling right when they open in the morning. That's how I finally got through after days of trying!

I found a way to get someone on the phone fast. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

20 bucks tho? That's kinda steep when ur already waiting on disability payments 😬

I get that, but for me it was worth it to finally get my issue resolved. Time is money, ya know?

Have you checked your claim status online? Sometimes there's additional info there about why payments are delayed. Might save you a phone call if there's an obvious issue.

Here's what you need to do to change your payment method: 1. Call the SDI office (I know, easier said than done) 2. Have your claim number ready 3. Tell them you want to switch from check to direct deposit 4. Provide your bank account and routing number 5. Ask them to expedite the change if possible 6. Follow up in a few days if you don't see any updates online Good luck! The system is frustrating, but persistence pays off.

Great advice! Just wanna add - make sure ur bank info is 100% correct. One wrong digit can delay things even more.

This might sound weird, but have you tried reaching out to your local state representative's office? They sometimes have connections and can help push things through faster.
