SDI Benefits Extension Not Happening - Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having some trouble with my SDI benefits. They were supposed to be extended but it's not happening. Has anyone else dealt with this? What did you do to get it sorted out?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I went through the same thing last month. It's like they just forget about us once our initial claim period is over. Have you tried calling them? That's what finally worked for me, but it took HOURS on hold.

•I've been trying to call but can never get through. How many times did you have to try before you got someone on the line?

•Honestly, I lost count. I think I tried at least 20 times over a couple of days. It's ridiculous how hard it is to reach them. 🤦♂️

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through on my first try doing that!

I found a way to get someone on the phone without the endless hold times. I used this site called claimyr.com - it's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then sends the call to your phone when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it worked for me. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me so much time and frustration. The $20 was worth it to actually get my issue resolved.

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update the info there before sending out notices. Might be worth a look if you haven't already.

SDI is such a mess rn. I've been waiting on an extension for weeks. Apparently there's a huge backlog because of all the covid-related claims. Hang in there, OP!

Here's what worked for me to get my SDI extension: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. 2. Check your online account daily for updates. 3. If calling doesn't work, try sending a message through the online portal. 4. Reach out to your local state representative's office. They can sometimes intervene on your behalf. 5. Be persistent but polite when you do get through to someone. 6. Make sure all your medical documentation is up to date and submitted. It's a frustrating process, but don't give up. You're entitled to these benefits!

•Thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try reaching out to my state rep, hadn't thought of that.
