EDD wants proof of address by tomorrow, but can't mail it in time. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle. I just got a letter in the mail asking for proof of address for my eligibility. The problem is, they want it by tomorrow, but I won't be able to mail it until later this week. Has anyone else dealt with this? What should I do?

Ugh, been there done that. The bureaucracy is real 🙄 Have you tried calling them to explain the situation? Sometimes they can give you an extension if you explain.

•I've been trying to call all day but can't get through. It's so frustrating!

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I usually have better luck getting through then.

•Calling is useless, I swear they never pick up 🤬

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work?

•Yeah, it does! I was skeptical at first too, but I was desperate. It saved me hours of hold time.

•$20 seems steep just to make a phone call...

•I get that, but think about how much time you waste on hold. For me, it was worth it to actually talk to someone.

Here's what I would do: 1. Scan or take clear photos of your proof of address 2. Email it to them ASAP (look up their email address on their website) 3. Also mail the physical copies 4. Call them to explain the situation and confirm they received the email This way, you're covering all your bases. Good luck!

Have you tried faxing it? Sometimes that's faster than mail and they might accept it.

idk if this helps, but when I was in a similar sitch, I went to my local office in person. It was a pain, but I got it sorted same day.
