EDD benefit computation received but no check issue date - what's next?
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I got my benefit computation online, but there's no issue date for when they'll actually mail out my check. Has anyone else run into this? I'm trying to figure out when I can expect to see that money hit my account. Any advice on what to do next or who to contact would be super helpful!

I found a way to solve unemployment benefit payment delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZcEzJnHZEE

Ugh, I feel ya. The whole system is such a mess rn. I had the same thing happen to me last month. Took forever to get any real info. Have you tried calling them? It's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

ā¢Thanks for the reply! Yeah, I've been trying to call but keep getting stuck in this endless phone tree. It's so frustrating š¤

ā¢Pro tip: call right when they open. Like, set an alarm and everything. Sometimes you can get through faster that way.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

ā¢Sounds kinda sketchy. Is it legit? $20 seems steep just to make a phone call.

ā¢I get the skepticism, but it's totally legit. I was desperate and it actually worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

ā¢How long did you have to wait after using the service?

ā¢It took about 2 hours, but I just went about my day and they called me when an agent was on the line. Way better than being stuck on hold myself.

Here's what I've learned from my experience and research: ⢠The benefit computation is just the first step. It doesn't mean your check is being processed yet. ⢠Usually, there's a waiting period after the computation before they issue the check. ⢠Check your online account daily for updates. Sometimes they update the status without notifying you. ⢠If it's been more than 2 weeks since you got the computation, definitely try to contact them. ⢠Look for any pending issues on your claim that might be holding things up. ⢠Make sure all your info is up to date in the system. Hope this helps! Hang in there, OP. The system is slow, but it usually works out in the end.

ā¢Wow, thank you so much for this detailed response! This is super helpful. I'll keep an eye on my online account and give it another week before I start panicking š

Have you checked if there are any holidays coming up? Sometimes that can delay things. Also, make sure your mailing address is correct in the system!

ā¢Good point! I'll double-check my address. Didn't even think about holidays, thanks!

I swear, dealing with unemployment is a full-time job itself. Ironic, huh? š Anyways, hang in there OP. We're all in the same sinking boat.

ā¢For real tho. I spend more time figuring out this system than I do job hunting some days š©

Hey, quick question - did you receive any kind of confirmation email or text when you first filed? Sometimes there's info in there about timelines.

ā¢I got an email saying my claim was received, but nothing about timelines. I'll go back and check it again though, thanks!
