EDD claim date error: last day worked same as claim start date - what to do?

I'm helping my spouse file for disability and we're stuck on a weird claim date issue. Their last day of work was June 22nd, 2025, and we're getting this message in SDI Online: "Notice of Claim Date Adjustment - beginning date must be at least 1 day after last day worked" There's also something about verifying identity, address, and wages with form 4365DI, but there's NO due date listed AND no form is actually available to submit! I see in the activity log that June 22-22 was "disallowed" (just that one day) and the claim seems to start from June 22-29 (first week). I'm assuming we just need to wait for the claim to process normally since they're just rejecting that one overlapping day? But I'm worried about that identity verification message. Do we need to do something specific about this, or just wait? There's literally no form showing up to complete.

ya this is normal, they just adjust the date automatically. as long as u see the claim active for the week after don't worry bout it. they always do this weird thing where the claim can't start till day after u last worked. u good

Thanks! I just got nervous seeing that verification message with no actual form. Have you ever had the identity verification thing happen without a form being available?

This is a common issue with SDI claims. When you file for SDI, the claim start date must be at least one day after your last day worked - that's why you got the adjustment notice. EDD automatically fixed this by disallowing just that one overlapping day (June 22). Regarding the identity verification message - this is concerning. Normally when EDD requires identity verification, a form 4365DI should be available in your "Forms Available to Submit" section. If you don't see it there, I recommend: 1. Try logging out completely and logging back in 2. Check if you have any notifications in the "Important Information" section 3. Look in the "Upload Documents" section to see if you can submit documents there If you still don't see the form, you really need to contact EDD directly. Their system might have glitched.

Thank you for the detailed explanation! I checked all those areas and there's still no form. I guess I'll have to call them, but I've been trying for days with no luck getting through. 😩

I had EXACTLY this problem in March!!!! The stupid system gave me that verification message but NO FORM to complete. I tried calling for TWO WEEKS and couldn't get through. Finally I uploaded a bunch of ID documents through the general document upload section with a note explaining the situation. My claim was eventually approved but it took 6 WEEKS and they never explained what happened with that message. So frustrating!!!!

0 coins

Omg that sounds awful! Did you upload your documents in the general Documents section or somewhere specific? And what documents did you end up sending?

0 coins

I used the general Documents section and just selected "Other" for document type. I uploaded my driver's license (front+back), social security card, a utility bill showing my address, and 2 recent pay stubs. I also typed up a letter explaining the situation and that I couldn't access the form they wanted me to fill out. It eventually worked but took FOREVER.

Thanks, I'll try that approach! At least it worked eventually.

I had to help my sister with this exact problem! The EDD system is sooooo glitchy. When there's no form but they ask for verification it's usually because their system flagged something but didn't properly generate the form. When u call they'll probably just tell u to upload ID docs through general upload. SO ANNOYING but it's just how their broken system works lol

If you need to speak with an EDD representative about this issue, try using Claimyr (claimyr.com). I was facing the same frustration trying to get through to EDD about a verification issue, but Claimyr got me connected to an actual person in under 20 minutes. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ?si=1hcSq3KFtCr4oAmd The agent I spoke with explained that sometimes these verification messages appear automatically due to system flags, but there's no actual verification needed for your specific case. It saved me weeks of stress and uncertainty.

does this actually work?? i've been trying for 3 days to reach someone about my disability extension

Yes, it worked for me. I was skeptical too, but was desperate after trying for days. They connect you directly to EDD's phone system but somehow bypass the wait/disconnection issues. Much better than uploading documents randomly and hoping for the best.

I might try this service if uploading the documents doesn't work. Getting really anxious about this claim sitting there with that verification message.

Here's what's actually happening with your claim: 1. The date adjustment is completely normal and automatic - the system is programmed to disallow any overlapping of work days and disability days. So they're correctly adjusting to start your spouse's claim on June 23rd (the day after their last work day). 2. The verification message is most likely a system error. EDD's disability system has been experiencing glitches since their 2024 update where verification notices get triggered without the corresponding form being made available. 3. You have three options: - Wait and see if the claim processes normally (risky) - Proactively upload identity and wage verification through the Documents section - Contact EDD directly to have them remove the verification hold In my experience working with many disability claimants, option 2 or 3 is safest. The last thing you want is to wait weeks only to discover there's still a hold on the claim. The system won't always notify you if there's a problem.

Thank you for such clear explanation! I'll definitely take your advice and upload documents proactively. I appreciate the detailed breakdown of what's happening.

UPDATE: I ended up calling EDD after trying all week (finally got through yesterday afternoon). The rep confirmed it was a system glitch - the verification request was automatically triggered but the form wasn't properly generated. She removed the verification requirement from my spouse's account and the claim is now processing normally! Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions.

Great news! Glad to hear it worked out. This is becoming a common glitch in their system - hopefully they'll fix it in the next update.

So glad you got this resolved! I'm dealing with a similar verification glitch right now on my own SDI claim. Did the rep mention if there's a way to avoid this happening in the future, or is it just a known system bug they're working on? I'm worried about this happening again when I have to certify for benefits.

0 coins

Hey! The rep didn't mention anything about preventing it in the future - she just said it's a known issue with their system update from 2024. She mentioned that the verification triggers are supposed to be more targeted now but sometimes they fire incorrectly. From what I understand, it shouldn't affect your regular benefit certifications since those go through a different part of the system. But if it does happen again, she said to call right away rather than waiting or trying to upload documents blindly. Hope that helps!

This is such a helpful thread! I'm dealing with a similar situation where I got a verification message but no form available. Reading through everyone's experiences, it sounds like this is a pretty common glitch with EDD's system. I'm going to try calling first thing Monday morning, but if that doesn't work I'll definitely upload documents proactively like Isabella suggested. It's frustrating that their system has these bugs, but at least there are workarounds. Thanks for sharing your update about getting it resolved - gives me hope that mine will work out too!

I'm so glad I found this thread! I'm new to dealing with EDD disability claims and was getting really worried about a similar verification message appearing on my claim with no form to complete. Reading everyone's experiences here has been incredibly helpful - it sounds like this is unfortunately a common system glitch but there are definitely ways to resolve it. I'm planning to try calling EDD first, but if that doesn't work I'll follow Isabella's advice about uploading documents through the general upload section. It's reassuring to see that Javier was able to get it resolved by speaking with a rep who confirmed it was just a system error. Thanks to everyone for sharing your experiences and solutions!

I'm going through the exact same thing right now! Filed my SDI claim last week and got that same "Notice of Claim Date Adjustment" message along with the verification request, but there's literally no form anywhere in my account. It's so frustrating - I've been checking every day thinking maybe the form would eventually show up. Reading through all these responses, it sounds like this is a widespread system bug that EDD really needs to fix. I'm going to try calling them first thing tomorrow morning, but if I can't get through I'll definitely upload my ID documents proactively like several people suggested. Thanks for posting about this - it's such a relief to know I'm not the only one dealing with this glitch!

I'm dealing with this exact same issue too! Just filed my claim this week and got hit with the same verification message but no actual form to submit. It's honestly kind of scary when you're already stressed about being out of work due to disability and then EDD's system throws these confusing glitches at you. I'm really grateful for this thread - seeing that Javier got it resolved by calling and that it was confirmed as just a system error makes me feel so much better. I was starting to think I had done something wrong with my application. Going to try calling tomorrow but also preparing to upload documents as a backup plan. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences - this community is a lifesaver!

This thread has been so helpful! I'm a newcomer to this community and currently dealing with my first SDI claim. Reading through everyone's experiences with this verification glitch gives me a lot of confidence that it's manageable. It's really reassuring to see how supportive this community is - people sharing specific steps they took, what worked, and what didn't. I especially appreciate the detailed advice about uploading documents proactively and the confirmation that the date adjustment is totally normal. As someone who's never dealt with EDD before, these kinds of detailed explanations from experienced community members are invaluable. Thanks to everyone for creating such a helpful resource!

Welcome to the community! I'm also pretty new here and just went through this exact same verification issue a few weeks ago. This thread has been such a relief to find - I was panicking when I saw that message with no form to complete. Like you said, having experienced members break down what's normal (like the date adjustment) versus what's a system glitch really makes all the difference when you're navigating this for the first time. The step-by-step advice people have shared here is gold. Hope your claim goes smoothly!

Welcome to the community! As someone who's been helping people with EDD issues for a while, I can confirm this verification glitch has become really common since their 2024 system update. What you experienced is textbook - the system automatically adjusts claim dates (totally normal) but then incorrectly triggers verification requests without generating the actual forms. For anyone else reading this thread who's dealing with the same issue, here's what I'd recommend based on what I've seen work: 1. Try calling EDD first - if you can get through, they can usually clear the glitch in minutes like they did for Javier 2. If calling doesn't work, upload ID documents proactively through the general Documents section (driver's license front/back, Social Security card, recent pay stub, utility bill for address verification) 3. Include a note explaining the situation when you upload The key thing is don't just wait and hope it resolves itself - these verification holds can delay payments for weeks or months if not addressed. Glad you got yours sorted out and thanks for sharing the resolution!

This is such helpful advice, thank you! As someone completely new to EDD and disability claims, having a clear action plan like this is exactly what I needed. I'm actually dealing with a similar verification message right now and was feeling totally lost. Your step-by-step approach makes it feel much more manageable - I'll definitely try calling first and have those documents ready to upload if needed. Really appreciate how welcoming and helpful this community is for newcomers like me who are trying to figure out these confusing systems!

I'm new to this community and just wanted to say how incredibly helpful this entire thread has been! I'm currently dealing with my first ever SDI claim and was completely panicked when I got that same verification message with no form available. Reading through everyone's experiences and seeing that Javier got it resolved has given me so much relief. What I found most valuable was seeing the progression from initial panic to actual solutions - from Isabella's experience uploading documents through the general section, to the advice about using Claimyr to get through to EDD, and finally Javier's update that it was just a system glitch that the rep could fix instantly. It really shows how this community comes together to help each other navigate these confusing EDD issues. I'm going to try calling EDD first thing Monday morning, but now I feel prepared with backup options if that doesn't work. Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences - this is exactly the kind of support newcomers like me need when dealing with these stressful situations!

Welcome to the community, Samuel! I'm also relatively new here and just went through this exact same situation about a month ago. This thread has become like the go-to resource for this verification glitch issue - I wish I had found it sooner when I was panicking about my claim! What really helped me was following the advice here about being proactive rather than just waiting. I ended up uploading my documents through the general section like Isabella suggested, and my claim processed without any further issues. But honestly, calling EDD directly like Javier did seems to be the fastest solution if you can actually get through to someone. One thing I'd add for anyone dealing with this - don't let the anxiety get to you too much. I spent way too many sleepless nights worrying about it before finding this community and realizing it's just a common system bug. The EDD disability system has its issues, but there are definitely ways to work around them. Good luck with your call - hopefully you'll have a quick resolution like Javier did!

I'm new to this community and just wanted to add my experience for anyone else who might be dealing with this issue in the future. I had the exact same verification message problem last month - got the claim date adjustment notice (totally normal as everyone explained) but then that confusing verification request with absolutely no form available to submit. After reading through all the helpful advice in this thread, I decided to try calling EDD first. It took me about 4 days of calling repeatedly, but I finally got through to a rep who immediately identified it as the same system glitch that Javier experienced. She cleared it from my account in less than 5 minutes and explained that their 2024 system update has been causing these false verification triggers. What I found most reassuring was that she said this doesn't affect your claim eligibility at all - it's purely a technical glitch on their end. For anyone currently dealing with this, don't stress too much about it. The solutions people have shared here (calling EDD directly or proactively uploading ID documents) definitely work. Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences - this community has been such a lifesaver for navigating EDD's confusing system!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience, Keisha! As someone who's completely new to both this community and dealing with EDD disability claims, reading success stories like yours gives me so much hope. I'm currently facing this exact same verification glitch situation and was starting to panic thinking I'd done something wrong with my application. It's really reassuring to hear that the rep confirmed it doesn't affect claim eligibility at all - that was my biggest worry. I've been trying to call EDD for the past two days without success, but your experience shows it's definitely worth persisting. Four days of calling sounds frustrating, but knowing it can be resolved in just 5 minutes once you get through makes it feel manageable. This thread has honestly been a game-changer for me. Before finding this community, I was completely lost and stressed about the whole situation. Now I feel like I have a clear understanding of what's happening and multiple options for resolving it. The way everyone here supports newcomers and shares detailed experiences is incredible. I'm definitely going to keep trying to call, and if that doesn't work, I'll follow the document upload advice that several people have shared. Thanks again for adding your positive outcome to this thread!

Welcome to the community! I'm also pretty new here and just went through this exact verification message issue a couple weeks ago. This thread has honestly become my go-to reference for understanding EDD's confusing system! What really helped me was realizing that panicking doesn't help - this verification glitch is SO common now that the EDD reps are used to clearing it quickly once you get through to them. I ended up getting connected after about 3 days of calling, and just like everyone else described, the rep fixed it in minutes and confirmed it was just a system error from their 2024 update. One tip that worked for me: I called right at 8am when they opened and stayed on hold for about 45 minutes instead of hanging up when the wait got long. It was totally worth it to get that peace of mind! Good luck with your call tomorrow - you've got this!

Welcome to the community, Liam! I'm also new here and just dealt with this exact same verification glitch about two weeks ago. This thread has been such a lifesaver - I was absolutely panicking when I first saw that message thinking I'd done something wrong with my claim! What really helped me was following the advice here about calling EDD early in the morning. I finally got through on my third day of trying by calling right at 8am and waiting on hold for about an hour. The rep immediately knew what I was talking about and cleared the verification hold in literally 2 minutes - she said they see this system glitch multiple times every day now. One thing that made me feel better was when she explained that this verification message doesn't put your claim at risk at all - it's just a technical error that prevents processing until they remove it from their end. So definitely don't stress too much while you're trying to get through to them. You've got a solid plan with calling first and having the document upload as backup. This community really is amazing for helping newcomers navigate these confusing EDD issues!
