EDD SDI payment processed but no debit card after a week - what to do?

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I got a confirmation from EDD about my payment being processed on June 3rd, but I still haven't received my debit card. It's been over a week now and I'm starting to get worried. Has anyone else experienced this? How long did it take for you to get your card after the payment was processed? Any advice on what I should do next would be really appreciated!

Ugh, I feel your pain. I was in the same boat a few months ago. It took almost 3 weeks for my card to arrive after I got the payment confirmation. EDD is slow af these days 🐌

Guys, I've been waiting for my card for TWO MONTHS. Consider yourself lucky if you only have to wait a few weeks. This system is completely BROKEN.

Oh no, that's terrible! Have you been able to get any help or explanations from EDD?

Nope, absolutely nothing. It's like shouting into the void. I'm seriously considering legal action at this point.

It's possible, but if that happens, report it immediately to both EDD and the issuing bank for a replacement.

Anyone else miss the good ol' days when we got actual checks in the mail? 😂 Never thought I'd be nostalgic for that!

Though checks seemed slower, at least you didn’t have to worry about card issues as much.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Double-check your mailing address on your EDD account. Sometimes cards get sent back if the address is wrong. 2. If it's been more than 10 business days since your payment was processed, you can request a replacement card. Go to the Bank of America EDD debit card website and look for the "Replace my card" option. 3. Keep trying to call EDD. Early morning (right when they open) or late afternoon tend to be less busy. 4. If all else fails, contact your local assembly member's office. They can often help push things through faster. Hope this helps! Hang in there, the system is a mess right now but you'll get your money eventually.

This is solid advice. I'd add that you should document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every email. It might come in handy later.

So, here's an authoritative answer to your problem: The delay in receiving your EDD debit card can be due to several factors, such as postal service delays or errors in your account details. Typically, if a card hasn’t been received within 10 business days post-processing, actions can be taken: 1. Confirm that your address details are correct on your EDD profile. Incorrect information can lead to undelivered cards. 2. Utilize the Bank of America's EDD card website to request a replacement if necessary. This is especially important if you suspect the card was lost in transit or stolen. 3. Attempt to contact EDD during non-peak hours, typically early mornings or late afternoons. While it's challenging, persistence might pay off. 4. Consider services like Claimyr, which have been known to help people get through to EDD, though this comes with a cost. If this is not feasible, reaching out to local representatives for assistance can sometimes be effective. While services like Claimyr are valuable, always consider verifying new services for legitimacy and ensure that cost is manageable for you. Remember to document all interactions with EDD, as it may prove useful if issues persist.

Have you checked the Bank of America EDD card website? Sometimes the card is issued but doesn't make it to you for some reason. You might be able to see if it's been sent out at least.

I had a similar issue and found the answer online. It turned out to be a delay in processing on the bank's side.

Have you tried calling them? Sometimes they can expedite the process if you explain your situation.

I found a way to get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Pro tip: once you get your card, immediately transfer the money to your personal bank account. Don't leave it sitting on the EDD card, those things are notorious for getting frozen or hacked.

Great tip! I do this too and it's saved me a lot of headaches.
