EDD SDI payment period suddenly changed from 14 to 9 days, no receipt - anyone else experiencing this?
Has anyone else had their payment period suddenly change? I usually get paid for 14 days, but this time it was only 9 days. I'm really confused and frustrated. I didn't get a receipt in my inbox like I normally do either. I'm trying to figure out why this happened and how to get a receipt. Anyone else dealing with this or know what's going on?

Has anyone tried contacting their local representative about these EDD issues? I've heard sometimes they can help push things through or get answers when we're stuck.

â˘That's a good idea. I've heard some reps are very responsive and eager to assist with state agency issues.

Ugh, same boat here. My payment period changed from biweekly to weekly without any warning. It's so frustrating when they make these changes and don't bother to explain why. Have you tried calling the EDD? Good luck getting through tho đ

â˘Right? It's like they expect us to just accept whatever they throw at us without question.

This happened to me last month! Turns out there was a glitch in their system that messed up payment periods for a bunch of people. I had to call and have them manually fix it. It's a pain, but you'll probably need to get ahold of someone to sort it out.

â˘Seems like these glitches are happening more frequently. They really need to revamp their system.

yall ever think about how we're all just clowns in the EDD circus? 𤥠They change the rules, we jump through hoops. Rinse and repeat.

â˘Fr tho. We're out here trying to survive and they're playing games with our livelihoods. It's not funny anymore.

â˘It's a sad reality but we have to keep pushing through. Someday they might get it right.

I haven't experienced this exact issue, but I've had my fair share of EDD problems. It seems like they're constantly changing things without properly informing us. Have you checked your account online to see if there's any explanation there?

â˘Yeah, I checked online but couldn't find anything explaining the change. It's like they expect us to be mind readers or something đ¤Śââď¸

â˘Classic EDD move. They probly changed some policy and forgot to tell anyone. Typical government efficiency at work đ

It sounds like you might be dealing with one of the many glitches that have been occurring with the EDD system. During the pandemic, a lot of people have faced similar issues with unexpected changes in payment periods, missing receipts, and more. Itâs always a good idea to check your online account for any notifications or messages you might have missed. Also, consider reaching out to EDD through their official contact channels to get clarification. As others have suggested, services like Claimyr can be a useful tool if you're struggling to get through to EDD. While it is a paid service, many people have found it worth the cost for the convenience and reduced frustration. However, it's important to verify any such services and ensure they are reputable. Reviews and user testimonials can be handy for this. If you believe the change in your payment period is a mistake, you can also consider filing an appeal. Keep thorough documentation of all interactions and communications with EDD, as these can be valuable during the appeal process. Finally, contacting your local representative might also offer an avenue for resolution. They can sometimes expedite the process or provide much-needed assistance. Stay persistent, and don't hesitate to lean on your community for support.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

â˘Wait, you have to PAY to talk to EDD now? That's messed up. Is this even legit?

â˘I get the skepticism, but it's not paying EDD. It's a service that does the waiting for you. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

â˘Not a scam, I promise. I was hesitant too, but it actually worked for me. You can look up reviews online if you're unsure.

â˘I used Claimyr too. It felt weird at first but saved me tons of time. Just make sure to verify the call details on your end.

Listen up, folks. I've been dealing with EDD for over a year now, and I've learned a few things. Here's what you need to know about these sudden changes: 1. System Updates: EDD often makes changes to their system that can affect payment periods. They don't always communicate these changes effectively. 2. Claim Review: Sometimes, they review claims and adjust payment periods based on eligibility. This can happen without warning. 3. Funding Changes: Depending on federal or state funding, payment periods can shift. 4. Glitches: As mentioned by others, system glitches do happen. Don't assume it's correct just because it's what the system says. 5. Documentation: ALWAYS keep your own records. Screenshot everything, save emails, and document every interaction. 6. Persistence is Key: If something seems off, keep calling until you get an answer. Use the auto-dialer services if you need to. 7. Appeal: If you believe the change is incorrect, file an appeal. You have rights! Remember, the system isn't perfect, but don't let that stop you from getting what you're entitled to. Stay informed, be persistent, and don't be afraid to ask for help. We're all in this together! đŞ

â˘Great advice! Quick question - how long does the appeal process usually take?

Fatima Al-Rashid
â˘@profile 11 Appeals can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months, depending on the complexity of your case and how backed up the system is. But don't let that discourage you! It's worth it if you're in the right.

Unpopular opinion: maybe we should be grateful for whatever we get? I mean, at least we're getting something, right? Some folks ain't even that lucky.

â˘Bruh, we PAY into this system. It's not charity, it's our money. We have every right to expect it to work properly.

â˘Nah, this ain't it. We shouldn't settle for a broken system just cause it could be worse.

â˘Yall make good points. I guess I'm just tired of fighting the system and trying to see the bright side. But you're right, we deserve better.

â˘I see where you're coming from, but settling might just lead to more complacency. We need accountability.

Have you checked your spam folder for the receipt? Sometimes EDD emails end up there for some reason. Also, double-check that your email address is correct in your account settings. Just a thought!

Hey OP, sorry youre dealing with this. Quick question - did you have any changes in your work status or income recently? Sometimes that can trigger changes in payment periods.

I'm dealing with something similar! My payment period dropped from 14 to 10 days last week with zero explanation. What's really frustrating is that when I tried to call EDD, I was on hold for 3+ hours before the line just disconnected. Has anyone found a reliable way to get through to someone who can actually explain these changes? I'm worried this might affect my future payments too.

â˘I feel your pain! The same thing happened to me - payment period suddenly dropped and no one to explain why. Have you tried using one of those auto-dialer services that others mentioned? I'm hesitant about paying for it but might be worth it to avoid those 3+ hour holds that lead nowhere. Also, maybe try calling right when they open? I've heard you have better luck getting through early in the morning.

This exact thing happened to me about 3 weeks ago! My payment period randomly dropped from 14 to 11 days and I was so confused. After reading through all these comments, I think @SofĂa RodrĂguez is right about it being a system glitch. I ended up having to call multiple times over several days before I finally got through to someone. The rep told me it was indeed a processing error and they were able to correct it, but it took about 2 weeks for the adjustment to show up in my account. For the missing receipt, check your account messages section online - mine showed up there instead of my email for some reason. Also, definitely keep calling even though it's frustrating. I found that calling right at 8am when they open gave me the best chance of getting through. Don't give up! You're entitled to the correct payment period and they need to fix this for you.
