EDD Nightmare: Can't Reschedule Appointment After Travel - Need Help Reaching Live Agent!
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with EDD. I had to reschedule an appointment because I was traveling to Texas, but now I can't get through to them on the phone. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to reach a live agent?

Ugh, EDD is the worst! I've been trying to get through for weeks. It's like they don't want us to actually talk to anyone. Good luck, OP!

ā¢For real tho š Its like they purposely make it impossible to reach them. I swear the system is designed to frustrate us!

ā¢Have you tried calling right when they open? I heard thats the best time to get through.

ā¢Yeah, I've tried everything. Early morning, late afternoon, even during lunch. No luck. It's a joke at this point š¤”

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

ā¢Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

ā¢$20? That's ridiculous. We shouldn't have to pay to talk to EDD!

ā¢I get it, but honestly, after wasting hours trying to get through, $20 was worth it to me. It actually worked, and I finally got my issue resolved.

ā¢How long did you have to wait once you used the service?

ā¢It took about 2 hours, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. They called me when an agent was on the line.

Pro tip: Have all your documentation ready before you call. When I finally got through, I had everything organized and it made the process so much smoother. Also, be super nice to the agent - they deal with angry people all day and being kind can go a long way.

Has anyone tried reaching out to their local representative? I've heard some people have had success getting help that way when EDD is being unresponsive.

ā¢I did this! It took a few weeks, but my rep's office was able to escalate my case and get it resolved. Definitely worth a shot if you're stuck.

ā¢How do you even find out who your local rep is? š¤

ā¢Just google '[your city] state representative'. Most have contact forms on their websites for constituent services.

Listen up, folks. Here's what you need to do to maximize your chances of getting through to EDD: ⢠Call early in the morning, right when they open. Set an alarm if you have to. ⢠Use multiple phones if possible. More lines = better odds. ⢠Be persistent. Sometimes it takes 50+ calls to get through. ⢠Have all your info ready: claim number, dates of employment, any relevant documents. ⢠Be polite but firm with the agent. They're overworked, but it's their job to help you. ⢠If all else fails, contact your state representative or try that calling service someone mentioned earlier. Remember, the system is frustrating by design. Don't give up!

ā¢I know it sounds crazy, but sometimes that's what it takes. The alternative is giving up on your benefits, so...

Anyone else feel like we're living in a Kafka novel trying to deal with EDD? It's absurd how difficult they make this process.

Hey OP, make sure you document EVERYTHING. Every call attempt, every conversation, every piece of mail. You never know when you might need to prove you've been trying to resolve this issue.
