EDD DE2525XX form missing for extended disability leave after pregnancy - need urgent help!
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle. My OB extended my disability leave after having my baby, but I didn't get the DE2525XX form. My disability already expired yesterday, and I need to file ASAP. Has anyone dealt with this before? What should I do?

Ugh, I've been there. The EDD can be such a pain sometimes. Have you tried calling them? It might take forever, but it's probably your best bet to get this sorted out quickly.

•I've been trying to call all morning, but the lines are always busy. It's so frustrating! 😫

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I usually have better luck getting through that way.

Congrats on the baby! 🎉 As for your issue, you might be able to download the form online. Check the EDD website, they usually have most forms available there.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•$20? That's kinda steep for a phone call...

•I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imho.

•How long did you have to wait before they connected you?

•It took about 2 hours, but I didn't have to do anything. Just got a call when an agent was ready. Way better than being stuck on hold myself!

Here's what you need to do: 1. Try to download the DE2525XX form from the EDD website. If it's not there, you'll need to contact them. 2. Call the EDD first thing in the morning when they open. Keep trying if you don't get through. 3. While waiting, gather all your documents: doctor's note for extended leave, your original claim info, etc. 4. If you can't reach them by phone, try sending a message through your online account. It's slower but might work. 5. As a last resort, you could try visiting an EDD office in person if there's one near you. Don't panic about the expiration. As long as you're actively trying to resolve this, they should be able to backdate your claim. Good luck!

•This is solid advice. I'd add: keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. It could come in handy if there are any issues later.

Have you considered reaching out to your OB's office? They might be able to help expedite the process or provide additional documentation if needed.
