Not to be that guy, but have you considered lawyering up? If they're seriously dragging their feet, it might be time to get some legal muscle involved. Just a thought.
Whoa there, cowboy! 🤠Let's not go nuclear just yet. OP should exhaust all other options first before bringing in the big guns.
I'm going through something similar right now! Filed my claim about 6 weeks ago and radio silence ever since. The waiting is honestly the worst part because you don't know if something's wrong with your paperwork or if it's just taking forever. I've been calling every few days but keep getting the runaround with automated messages. Really hoping some of these suggestions work because I'm starting to stress about my job security too. Hang in there! 🤞
Hot take: what if we all showed up at the SDI office with lawn chairs and just camped out until they process our claims? Who's with me? 😂
Check your EDD online account portal first - that's usually the fastest way to see if they've received your documents. You can also try faxing a follow-up request asking for confirmation of receipt with a list of what you submitted. I had success getting through on the phone by calling exactly at 8 AM when they open - the wait was still long but manageable. Also, if you submitted anything by mail, definitely use certified mail next time so you have tracking confirmation. The anxiety is totally understandable, but hang in there!
Has anyone else noticed that these errors seem to happen more often right before holidays or at the end of the month? It's like they're trying to delay payments or something 🤔
I had the exact same E324 error last week! What finally worked for me was switching to a different device entirely - I was using my phone and it kept giving me that error, but when I tried my laptop it went through fine. Also make sure you're using the most up-to-date version of whatever browser you're using. The EDD website seems really picky about that stuff. Hope this helps!
Oh wow, switching devices is such a good point! I never thought of that. I've been stuck using my old tablet this whole time because my laptop is broken. Maybe I should try borrowing someone else's computer or using one at the library. Thanks for the tip about keeping the browser updated too - mine is probably ancient at this point 😅
LPT: If you're having trouble with EDD, reach out to your state representative's office. They often have liaisons who can help push things through faster.
This! 👆 My rep's office got my issue resolved in like 2 days after I'd been waiting for months.
I'm dealing with something similar - submitted my disability claim 3 weeks ago and still waiting. One thing that helped me was creating a detailed timeline of everything I submitted and when. Also, try logging into your account at different times of day - sometimes the website shows different info depending on when their system updates. Have you tried checking if there are any pending documents they need from you? Sometimes they request additional info but the notification gets buried in their system.

One more important thing: make sure your doctor understands how to properly complete the medical certification form. Some doctors don't fill these out regularly and might put incorrect information. The specific date they list as the beginning of your disability is CRUCIAL. If you're planning to apply for SDI after your UI ends, make sure they put a date that's after your last UI payment. Also, your weekly benefit amount might be slightly different between UI and SDI because they use different calculation periods.

•This is such an important point! When I did this transition, my doctor initially put a disability start date that overlapped with my UI benefits. I had to get them to correct it because the EDD flagged it immediately. The doctor may not realize how important the exact date is for benefit purposes.

I went through this exact situation 3 years ago! The transition is definitely possible but timing is everything. Here's what worked for me: I let my UI benefits run out completely first (didn't want any overlap issues), then immediately applied for SDI once my doctor certified my pregnancy complications made me unable to work. The gap was about 10 days total including the SDI waiting period, which was tough financially but avoided any fraud concerns. My SDI weekly amount ended up being about $50 less than my UI because of the different base period calculation, but it was still substantial help. Make sure your doctor is very specific about your disability start date on the DE 2501 form - mine had to resubmit because they initially put a date that was too vague. Also keep all your UI correspondence showing your last payment date as proof there was no overlap. The whole process took about 3 weeks from application to first SDI payment. Hang in there - it's stressful but totally doable!

•This is really reassuring to hear from someone who actually went through it! I'm okay with a small gap if it means avoiding any fraud issues with EDD. Did you have to provide any additional documentation besides the DE 2501 form? Also, when you say your doctor had to resubmit because the date was "too vague" - what exactly did EDD want to see? I want to make sure my doctor gets it right the first time.
